So I guess we can close this thread since it wasn’t created to have open discussion but rather a meeting place for anyone who wants to join you in mocking developers

He won't need to. I'll do it on his behalf with my consecutive miscues.

Though keep in mind... I haven't ever witnessed these before, and these were on back-to-back fly balls, right after I read this thread and right after the 1.06 patch. Again, it couldn't have been more convenient.

In the first video, I knew I was in trouble when Trout didn't get to a more upright standing position, and you tend to if you finish close behind the ball cursor like that. Then when I ran down further and he ran right past the target, that's a big no-no.

I don't know how to explain the second one at all. First the jogging animation thing, then he never actually tried to catch it. And these are all stars.

Re: fIeLdInG hAs BeEn ImPrOvEd

Ok...how often have you seen those?

I chalk both up to just a mental lapse, lost in the lights, skies, etc..

Things like this happen over the course of the season. We see it all the time. Nothing about either of those videos makes me think that fielding is not improved, broken, or whatever anyone wants to call it.

Never, that's what I'm saying. That's the only two times I've seen them. I'm just pointing out what it is that I think he thinks he constantly sees.

Same. Again, for me it was just pure coincidence. However, given that it was my two first fly balls after the 1.06 update, I thought something broke. Something else that happened in that game is runners stole successfully on the first pitch three straight times they reached first base. Nothing like that had happened since. It was all really too bizarre.

You're not talking to me. I'm just providing videos of the examples that I had witnessed. I don't think it's broken either.

You're right, I wasn't talking directly to you, which is why I didn't quote your post. Your videos are similar, I think, to what the OP was talking about seeing. I was making a general statement/post/question about how often those types of plays are seen. And then provided my opinion on them.

i think the fielding requires smoother transitions to the route, none of this stopping and starting anymore. if you fielded like that in real life and changing your running pace in the last moments of the catch and then accelerating again would just be poor athleticism and we'd see a lot more errors IRL.

I understand maybe for the first one (though I don't understand why it didn't stop my guy in the first place), but the second one I did nothing but go right until I landed underneath it.

And it's not like this happens to me all the time, man. I've been playing this game series for fourteen years, and this is the first time I've ever seen anything like it. I appreciate you providing me tips on how to play, but I don't think it was my doing that prompted this. I understand your explanation, regardless.
