NBA 2K16 News Post

Over on our YouTube channel (why not Subscribe while you're there?), I have broken down all the footage from NBA 2K16's first gameplay trailer.

A big thank you goes out to everyone in the community. You guys killed it in the news post, pointing out pretty much everything there was to spot. My job was more or less turned into just relaying all the awesome stuff you guys noticed.

If you missed anything or have not taken the time to tackle the entirety of this epic thread, then this video might be worth your while. Or if you just want to check out hi-res, frame-by-frame captures of the trailer one more time, check out the video.

Also, here is the link to the hi-res YouTube version.

Hey man, happy to hear you found the YT channel. Hope you enjoy the video. And 480p, here's my first-world problems response: "I COULDN'T SURVIVE WITH JUST 480P!"

Is there a time stamp for the Mitchell and Ness advertisement?

It's nice to know we can add our own ads this year. FSWest for the Clipps and Morongo Casino for the Lakers are at the top of my list. Well that and the real MSG-Chase logo at MSG along with TD Garden logo for Boston.

Unless they block the uploads we should be able to do it (though I expect it to be fine since it's the exact same system WWE 2k used last year). I remember reading we can upload our own ads and custom arena logo in the MyLeague blog.

Edit:Yep, knew I wasn't tweaking lol

Full control over what advertisements play on the Scorer’s Table (note: YES, of course you can head over to our website and upload anything you want to display on the advertising boards of your chosen Scorer’s Table)....

Choose arena name logos (think STAPLES CENTER, ORACLE ARENA, etc.) by selecting one of ours or uploading your own.
Choose from a large selection of fonts and write whatever you want on the two baselines

They did but only in extreme cases like if someone uploaded Chris Benoit or something the WWE wouldn't condone. Outside of that though you could pretty much upload whatever you wanted.

Just wondering if they aren't licensed with TD garden or msg would they let us do it and share.

It's one of the features I want to fool with but it sounds too good to be true for a non modded game lol

It's right where McLemore dunks the ball, roughly between 6:15-6:18.

I guess you would need full 32-team control though? Because I thought that was only at new arenas so wouldn't you have to move everyone? I know you can re-do jerseys etc. even if you stay in a city but does that apply to arenas too? Unless you can just create arenas and share them and force them to be the default arenas for places.

Didn't 2K hire one or two guys from the PC modding community last year?

I like to think they hired them for their user names because all three of those are choice.

Man... they could easily cast Zoolander 3 with those names

Thanks guys. What were their specialty. I know Leftos is the "franchise" guy. What about the other 2? I ask because it seems like a good bit of the "modding" aspects have made it into the game this year. We can now create courts, teams, and rosters (hopefully we can share them) and it looks really user friendly. I can only imagine the some of the user created content we're in for this year.

Not totally sure about Vlad, but I know Jaosming is the producer of NBA 2KTV

I have no doubts they talk though

I usually run a Myleague with 30 team control since I hate the CPU lineups and trade logic so I wouldn't mind. I could've sworn one of the guys at 2k commented in the MyLeague/MyGM thread saying you can rebrand without moving (if they just meant jerseys that's unfortunate), if not though, wouldn't a workaround be to move the team to the incumbent city since all 28 NBA cities are available as options? If that doesn't work, maybe move the team and then move them back, keeping the changes you've made (if the game allows for it).

You might be right about not having to move them. It was Czar who said you would able to re-brand and stay around, so maybe it's more than just jerseys etc. and you can re-do the court without rebuilding the stadium and so on.

Yeah it'd seem odd if we couldn't given the editor being in the mode and how frequently teams re-brand nowadays.

Vlad was the guy who created REDitor, the main roster editor we used every year and also created other tools for modding. Jaosming did tutorials, patches, uncovered hidden files and such, and Leftos was also a guy who made roster editors and modding tools.

Bad news is it killed the modding community because these were basically the only guys who made these tools and editors. Good news is, there are many customization options available in the game that I agree, seem to be coming from them. They know what the modding community wants and that's a good thing.

Am I the only one that thinks the rims should bend/hang a little lower than the last 2kgames?

would've been ill to see faried's locks moving on that dunk.
