In the Houston Rockets loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, the Rockets shot 6-of-41 from beyond the arc and scored 94 points. Games like that will most likely be a rare occurrence for Houston. While Russell Westbrook, who shot 1-of-6 from 3-point range, is not a reliable outside shooter, the same can't be said of James Harden. The 2018 MVP will likely have a much better shooting night than the 2-of-12 3-point shooting he had against the Pelicans.

The question for the Washington Wizards becomes how well they can guard Houston's primary scorers and the 3-point shot. Last season, opponents made 37 percent of their 3-point attempts. Through the Wizards first three games, that number has jumped to 43.6 percent. Needless to say, if the Wizards can't defend on the perimeter, they'll be in for a long night.

The most interesting matchup in this game will be San Antonio Spurs' swingman DeMar DeRozan against Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard. Both players excel in the midrange, a part of the game that can be easily forgotten in the age of analytics. Through two games, DeRozan has not attempted or made a 3-point shot. As a team, the Spurs are shooting just 32 percent from beyond the arc.

The 3-pointers aren't falling for the struggling Clippers either. Through three games, the Clippers are making just 31.5 percent of shots from deep. It doesn't help that some of their best players like Leonard have been injured. With this matchup being the second half of back-to-back games, it's being reported that Leonard may not play. If Leonard is held out or unable to play, Louis Williams, who has averaged a career-high 24.7 points through three games, will be the primary offensive weapon for the Clippers.

The Miami Heat should have forward Jimmy Butler back for this game and that will be a huge boost. In the three games without the four-time All-Star forward, the Heat have averaged 102.7 points per game while allowing 104.3 points per game. Butler's presence should help the team improve on both ends of the court.

As for the Atlanta Hawks, their offense has been inconsistent over the first two losses. In their first game, Atlanta scored 81 points in a blowout loss. In the second loss, both Trae Young and rookie forward Cameron Reddish scored 22 apiece. Young, who averaged 19.1 points last season, will need his supporting cast to step up if they hope to win.
