Kanobi, I notice your really protective over Sega football aren't cha? It's all good, but IMO Sega, in order to compete they need to get this game to run smoother than it does. The presentations stuff is cool, but I need a game that flows like the actual NFL. And to me Madden comes closest in that department and thats the most important thing for most ballers.

People always bitch about how the gameplay in Madden stays the same, hell gameplay in the actual NFL stays the same. All EA needs to do is add new animations and tweak the AI each year.

ESPN needs to get EA's secret on their excellent game flow.

Have you ever seen anybody slide when they try to turn around or change directions? It's never happened to me when I play football and it's never happened to anyone else (you know, the whole friction thing) yet madden won't change it. Madden's gameplay is nothing like the real nfl. In the nfl people actually make adjustments and teams can't do the same plays over and over again and have them be just as good as the first time they run it.

You can not compare any video game to real life not one. The one game that tries to emulate real life, the Sims still gets it wrong. The more anyone tries to sell the fact, that either game is true to life, just looks silly. When a programmer can make a true life sim, it will be in VR. A football game, where you can actually feel the hits. Where you can actually get tired from running. That is real life. If I want true to life football, I'll get the guys together and hit the field.

..yet while I'm criticizing Sega for its choppiness, I am in no way pleased with Madden's total ineptness at line-of-scrimmage interaction and logical DB intelligence.

I thought both games were flawed last year in very key areas.

I'm not protective. I just call the B.S. when I see it and when you said Sega should have focused more on the running than the tackle anims and presentation when Madden's tackles anims and presentation blows balls...that was B.S.

I also agreed with you that the Running anims Need work still but they are very much improved over 2k3.

As for the rest of your post about "gameflow"...thats another topic entirely.

Anyway, EA's NCAA 2004 has it down, they really have it down.

The #1 football game of 2004 will be NCAA 2004. I just can't see the pro games getting better and especially not "funner" than EA's college game. Madden will come close since it's still EA afterall.
