Good Evening and Welcome to ESPN "The Ocho". I am your host Ryne Dezaron. Tonight we take a look at some of the Top College Recruits around the nation in our ESPN 150 Spotlight.
Offense dominates the year's recruiting class as 21 of the Top-25 Players in the nation are scheduled to line up on that side of the ball including the Top-17 players in the nation.
Wide Reciever dominates this year's class as 4 of the Top-5 players in the nation are expected to be catching passes next year instead of throwing them, but don't think there will be a shortage of signal callers either as 5 QB's make the Top-20.
Tonight we focus on 14 players spread across the country, including the #1 Overall and #1 WR Aaron Wheeler out of Detroit Michigan, #2 Overall and #2 WR Corey Haas out of Eau Claire Wisconsin and the #3 WR and #4 Overall JeMarcus Green from Little Rock Arkansas.
All 3 of these WR's are impact players and will instantly give their school a chance at a National Title. When you think of Wheeler,Haas and Green, think Jerry Rice,Steve Largent and Randy Moss. That's how good these guys are..
Also highlighted is the Trio of McLaughlin Brothers who hail from Baltimore Maryland. QB-Dave #5 QB/#17 Overall, Left Tackle-Ian #1 Tackle/#9 Overall and WR-Jack #4 WR/#5 Overall, have made high school history as they trio has won 2 state championships since playing together on the varsity level and look to make it 3 before moving to the College ranks. Never have we seen a trio of brothers dominate the high school game like they have. Now the question is are they done playing together, or will they stick together in their next adventure in life, as they look for a College National Title.
Another player who is scheduled to make a HUGE!! impact is #1 QB Jordan Ross. The 6'7 275 giant makes most Offensive lineman look small. Never given a chance to show off probably the strongest arm since Jeff George, playing in a Wing T-Offense in high school, this kid is ready to show his dad and the nation what they missed seeing.
Ross and Dave McLaughlin are not the only QB's making noise in this year's class. 6'1 Adam West #2 QB/#10 Overall, might be consider small at 6'1, but this kid knows how to play the game as he looks to lead Pikeville High to 4 straight Kentucky State Championships.
Another QB who is in this year's spotlight is #3 QB/#12 Overall Kelsey Charles. This kid has been a All-star since he was 12 years old and being from the Big Apple (New York) he is ready to show the nation he is among the best there is and the best there ever will be.
Well everyone loves to get a Franchise QB or a playmaking WR, the player everyone is looking for is the next great RB. We spotlight 2 of the nations best.
#1 HB/CB and #7 Overall Deion White out of Texas has proven he is a playmaker on both sides of the ball as he looks to become a 4-time State Champ in the state of Texas where football is King.
#2 HB/#11 Overall Shea Mengal is ready to prove that Country music isn't the only thing Nashville Tennessee has to offer. This kid has moves that have broken ankles and made defenders look stupid. Can we say AP??
Well QB's, RB's and WR's get all the pub, a TE is a guy who can make a huge impact both catching the ball and blocking as well. This year's class offers 2 great one's both from the state of Washington and both on the radar of Coach Dodge.
#1 TE/#8 Overall AJ Hart grew up in Pullman and has been to every WSU home game since he was 6 years old, but that doesn't mean he is giving Coach Dodge and the Cougars a free pass. AJ wants to play for a winner and is willing to leave the only town he has ever known to become one.
Less then 2 hours north of Pullman is #2 TE/#21 Overall 6'5 TJ Deauce. A 3-sport star at University High school, the player known only as "The Deuce" has gotten scholarship offers from bigtime BCS schools around the nation, but that hasn't kept Coach Dodge from calling every week hoping to move up the list.
Now it's not all about the Offense though, as we do have 2 Defensive Players who have joined the spotlight.
MLB Lennon Kyle (#3 MLB/#48 Overall) and SS Jesse Matthews (#4 SS/#64 Overall) both offers skills that D-Coordinator's dream of having. Both have been compared to current Ravens Ray Lewis and Ed Reed. If they can live up to the hype these are guy's who can be a QB's worst nightmare.
I am going to post Top-5 schools and where players have signed in Week 10.
Again I apologize if you sent in a player on one of my pages, if you would like to be in next years group, please submitt a player in a PM message to me.
IF you already have a player in, I am not going to take another player from you until this group has graduated.
