So according to Ridin, not all options will be fixed this weekend so then would you recommend just waiting for the roster this weekend and then doing 30 team control anyway?
You can change it at any time. Go to settings then switch to your profile for the CPU teams. Go to mode- specific options and put the free agents (I think that's what it's called) to manual.

White Sox Franchise - April 2027

Defending World Champion White Sox are through April in the 2027 season red hot at 26-7. Offense is firing on all cylinders out of the gate. Near the top of the Majors in average, run and homers. Sox pitching has been shutting down the opposing teams offense as well as they are around the top of the Majors in ERA, Runs allowed, Homers allowed.

Second year White Sox 1B Fernando Villarreal is picking up where he left off tied with teammate RF/DH Javier Estrada, and Seattle 1B Dan Vogelbach with the MLB lead in homers with 12 each.

      MIN - 18-15 - 8 GB
      CLE - 13-20 - 13 GB

I ain't know if this is the right place to ask but just wanted to know if anyone has done a custom league and changed the stadiums and what affect it has on the budget. Wanted to know before I started my franchise.

Red Sox claim Stephen Piscotty off waivers

The Red Sox have claimed 34 year old Stephen Piscotty off of waivers from the Cardinals. The Cardinals placed Piscotty on outright assignment waivers with the idea that he would be claimed. The Cardinals have lessened their log jam in the outfield by making this move.

Re: MLB The Show 20 Franchise Discussion Thread

Hey guys, excited to be here again! I usually get 8-10 seasons in a year, and am looking again at doing the same. I play 1 game a series, and all playoff games, so I do play ALOT but also like getting seasons in. I have wrote a recap of how my 2020 regular season went with the Cubs. I will try to update in game monthly from now on so its not as long worded in the future!

After a great 7-2 start to begin the year, the Cubs faltered as the months went on. Hovering around .500 the first half of the year. The offense was among the best in the league. With Rizzo, Bryant, Baez, Contreras all having All-Star caliber seasons. 2B was an issue early in the year and it resulted in the mid-May call up of top prospect Nico Hoerner (2B) to man the bag. Also, the Cubs in desperation mode traded with the Blue Jays to fill the 5th spot in the struggling Cubs rotations.

Trades: Acquired MATT SHOEMAKER (SP) for Prospect SS Aramis Ademan

As the months went on, the Cubs bullpen and Rotation continued to be among the worst in the league, consistently serving up runs and blowing leads. All stars were chosen and the Cubs continued to limp in at .500 even with a Kris Bryant HR Derby crown and 4 AS selected.

All Stars: Wilson Contreas, Javy Baez, Kris Bryant, Kyle Hendricks

Come deadline time many teams were making moves to get better, and they reached out to the Dodgers who had a wealth of pitching. The Dodger's again dominating the NL had one weak spot, catcher. And in one of the biggest blockbusters of the weekend the Cubs traded All Star Wilson Contreras for young phenom Julio Urias (SP) who has been pitching to a solid 3.00era in LAD.

Acquired JULIO URIAS (SP) for C Wilson Contreras

Cubs fans were skeptical of moving one of the best offensive catchers in the league, but it was a move for now and later, as the Cubs got a young solid pitcher with years of control.

August was a big month for the Cubs following the deadline as they obtained an 18-10 record in the month. It all came down to September for the Cubs, where going in they were tied for the 2nd WC spot.

Cubs kept the 2nd half streak going in September by going 16-8 en route to a finishing record of 89-73, which WAS good enough to grab the top WC spot in the NL. The Cubs who hovered around .500 going into the AS break came out firing on all cylinders in the second half of the year. The Brewers cruised all year, and the Cubs were not good enough to even come close in the division race.
The Cubs will take on the Braves in the WC game, who lost the 163rd game vs the Nats for the division.

It will be Hendricks vs Soroka. Will the Cubs season continue or get suddenly stopped early again.

Settings Note: In order to get a better balance of the game, I switched from Directional to Zone hitting for the 2nd and 3rd games of the series. In the 11 games prior, I hit 8 HRs; the last 2, I hit 5. So for the next 3 series, I’ll see how many HRs I hit per game and adjust my sliders as such.

                Team: Minnesota Twins
Record to Date: 8-5, 2nd in ALC
                Series: vs Indians

This was probably the most intense series of the season so far. The first 2 games had a 9th inning rally to win or tie the game; both notching a W for Devin Smeltzer, who leads the team with a 3-0 record in relief. Game 1 was a 1-0 score, with a strong 8 innings by Berrios hitting 10 Ks in consecutive starts. Rosario was 1/1 with 3 BBs and the game winning hit. But it was Game 2 that was more dramatic. Jake Odorizzi has the start, but left the game due to an injury; he’s set to rest for a few days and shouldn’t miss a start. Fernando Romero came in relief and was effective but shaky, as he had 5 Ks but gave up 2 HRs in his 3.2 innings. Down 3-1 though, we never gave up as we handed Hand is first BS with a Kepler 2 run HR in the bottom of the 9th. The bullpen hung in there til Garver drove in the game winning run in the 12th. Game 3 was a landslide as we hit 4 HRs, lead by Jorge Polanco hitting 2, from both the left and right side of the plate.

                Team Leaders:

                Hits: 20, Cruz
                HRs: 3, Kepler
                RBIs: 8, Cruz
                AVG: .400 Cruz
                Ws: 3, Smeltzer
                Ks: 23, Maeda
                ERA: 1.38, Hill

The next series hits the road to Chicago to face the White Sox, who are in 4th place in the ALC.
                MSE - DENVER BRONCOS, 47-22 (3-2, playoffs)
                WWML - CAROLINA PANTHERS, 20-7 (0-2, playoffs)
                NSML - DENVER BRONCOS, 27-5 (4-0, playoffs)
                XML - DENVER BRONCOS, 51-17 (6-3, playoffs)

Re: MLB The Show 20 Franchise Discussion Thread

TWINS HAVE EYES ON ULTIMATE PRIZE IN 2020
FORT MYERS, Fla. -- A little more than two weeks into Twins camp, the vibe around the CenturyLink Sports Complex is already noticeably different from a year ago.

Scores of national media members have been filtering in and out since day one, because the Twins have one of the more nationally relevant stories to tell this year. Josh Donaldson is walking around the clubhouse in a Twins uniform, signed to the most lucrative free-agent contract in club history.

Oh, and those two words are openly being thrown around by player after player: World Series.

"I think that everybody comes here to win the World Series," Eddie Rosario said. "I think that's the real focus right now, for this year. More of a focus than before, when I played here in 2015 and '17. The focus this year is to go to the World Series."

"We've got a great lineup, but we're not looking for the Bomba Squad this year," Miguel Sanó added. "We got our [MLB home run] record, and I don't think they can break it too quickly. This year, we've got something better. We've got a World Series. We're playing for the World Series."

As the foundation of a 101-win team and division champion in 2019, the Twins' offensive core showed that it's ready to win now. The front office responded with an aggressive offseason push unseen in the recent history of this team, not only adding Donaldson to one of the league's most potent lineups, but also the likes of Kenta Maeda, Rich Hill, Tyler Clippard, Homer Bailey and Alex Avila to round out a deep, complete roster.

All the pieces appear in place for the Twins to finally shake their playoff demons (16 straight postseason losses) and take the next step with a deeper run through October. Can they capitalize?

                  What's the goal?

Another promising Twins squad was derailed by -- who else? -- the Yankees last fall, when Minnesota was vanquished in an American League Division Series sweep after the offense went quiet against a beatable Yankees rotation. The talent on the Twins' roster was undeniable, especially on the offensive side. But a combination of relative youth and inexperience and a lack of depth in the starting rotation likely contributed to the Twins' early exit.

The goal, then, is to assemble, develop and maintain enough depth -- homegrown and veteran -- to spur another division title, then to match up with the Astros, Yankees or whichever team they meet in the playoffs and finally, at minimum, get over the first-round hump. Given the lofty standards set last season and the front office's busy winter, anything short of that would likely be a disappointment.

"It's hard to have a chip on your shoulder when nothing has happened to you in a playoff series before," reliever Trevor May said. "Ever since that moment, since Game 3 was over, I'm [ticked] off about it. ... Now, I've had that experience and I'm going to take that to a playoff series. I think that feeling is with everyone. I can see it. We expect to go back. We expect to have an opportunity to play that team again.

"And we expect for it to be different this year."

                  How do they get there?

The Twins' easiest path for improvement would have been to add a front-line starter during the offseason, but when that quest failed, they added Donaldson to push their lineup over the top. Even with some built-in regression, that lineup should be more than fine. It's tough to project bullpen performance for any team in any season, but it's difficult to imagine this relief corps being a liability.

With that in mind, a key to the Twins' success will be in continued steps forward from the starting rotation. They'll need José Berríos to blossom into a true playoff ace and maintain his elite form through a full season, and not just the first half. They'll need Jake Odorizzi and Michael Pineda to build on very strong 2019 campaigns. They'll need a healthy Hill to join the rotation sometime in the summer and for Maeda to respond well to the added workload of starting for a full season. Finally, they've built up plenty of back-end rotation depth in Bailey, Jhoulys Chacín, Devin Smeltzer, Lewis Thorpe and Randy Dobnak. Any upside or consistency from members of that group would go a long way.

                  What could go wrong?

Health, health and health. On a macro scale, the Twins again saw the domino effect last season of a Byron Buxton injury on their roster composition and depth. If Hill, soon to turn 40, doesn't rebound from his offseason elbow surgery in the way that he hopes, the Twins will be down an experienced arm that they are counting on for meaningful playoff innings. On a micro scale, the wear and tear on players like Jorge Polanco, Rosario, Max Kepler, Luis Arraez, Marwin Gonzalez and C.J. Cron served as a very real hindrance to performance late last season.

The Twins do have the depth to survive an injury or two anywhere, and it certainly helps that they also have several high-upside prospects waiting in the wings that could be Major League-ready at some point this season. But any injuries would introduce variance and risk to a roster that otherwise looks to have relatively stable and projectable performance this season.

                  Who might surprise?

Thanks to all of the offseason additions, most of the players on the Twins' projected 26-man roster have established expectations of success. Still, the club would love to see more surprises akin to the production that Arraez, Dobnak, Smeltzer, Tyler Duffey and Zack Littell gave them last season despite the fact that none of those players was on the Opening Day roster.

Pitching prospect Jhoan Duran could be poised for a similar impact this season. The 22-year-old right-hander is now on the 40-man roster and boasts a fastball that touches the triple digits alongside a unique sinker-splitter hybrid that has stymied Minor League hitters. He and fellow top prospect Jordan Balazovic are said to be nearly Major League-ready as starters, and Duran's power stuff could also play in the bullpen, if needed, at some point this season.

Doing a modern Jays franchise while I wait for the carry over bug to be fixed (which may be a while considering) and I have to say I'm really getting into it. Made a few savvy trades to make the team more in line with my personal vision, and now I feel I'm in a really good place for where the team wants to be.

I doubt I can make the post season, especially playing in the AL East, but I have a feeling I can be a thorn in the side of teams in the hunt looking for an easy win. The plan is to hope for my tradeable assets to perform well and hopefully oversell them come the deadline. With the farm and young guns I've got, I'll be aiming for a world series run 2 years down the road.

Just won a tight 3-2 grapefruit game against the Rays to stop a losing skid and maintain second place (the Nats are in first by 1.5 games), so yeah feeling pretty good about myself. Until I realize that I pulled out all the stops while Rays were subbing in replacement level players. Also it was clear after my five game winning streak that I had nerfed CPU hitting a little too hard, so that second place likely won't translate into the regular season.

Nearly ready for the regular season, only one or two question marks left.

Does anyone know how to set a specific difficulty to start off with when using dynamic difficulty? I want to start using dynamic difficulty that starts off at Hall of Fame but can’t find how to do that

I’m scoring quite a bit per game so far in my franchise but don’t want to move all the way up to Legend.

Game 7 vs Red Sox: We took game 1 with a 3 run 7th to win 9-7, even after our closer was hit in the face after getting the first out of the 9th. Brought Jace Fry in to get the last 2 outs and after walking a batter he settled in and finished the save. We scored at least 1 run in every inning except the 1st, 2nd and 9th. In fact in a 4 game series we swept Boston after they started the season 6-1. We are now sitting at 6-3 at the top of the AL Central. Next up is Seattle. Michael Kopech vs Marco Gonzales.
Game 8 vs Seattle: Well Kopech keeps us hot with 9 strikeouts. We beat the Mariners 4-0 giving up just 1 hit. Small ball was the name of the game today with 3 runs being scored off 8 hits and Abrwu getting his 2nd HR of the young season to make it 4-0 in the 8th. The next game however S3attle wins as Giolito breaks his hand in the 2nd and the rest of the game is a nightmare as our relievers couldnt do anything right. Seattle breaks our 5 game winning streak in emphatic fashion winning 12-5.

Game 11 vs Minnesota: Gio Gonzalez's vs Devin Smeltzer. A pitcher's duel as both teams got hits but rarely got further than 1st base. Yuan Moncada had himself a game going 3/4 with an RBI. Gio gets the win going 6 innings and the save is Colome's as the Twins fall 2-1 to Chicago. Chicago sits at the top of the division at 8-5.

SPRING TRAINING--- Travis Blankenhorn homered and Devin Smeltzer worked two scoreless innings but the Minnesota Twins dropped their 2020 spring opener 9-4 to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday.

Blankenhorn’s homer came in the 4-run seventh inning for the Twins. He deposited a 3-1 fastball from left-handed veteran Derek Holland over the right field wall. The Twins could only muster three other hits in the contest.

Homer Bailey made his spring debut, working the first two innings and allowing three runs, but only one of them was earned as the Twins committed five errors in the game. Smeltzer worked the next two innings, striking out two. Former prospect Fernando Romero, who is trying to earn a bullpen spot, gave up four runs on five hits in his one inning of work. Cody Stashak, Matt Wisler and Dakota Chalmers all worked one inning each.

The Twins will head back to Fort Myers as the Bluejays come to town on Sunday. Jose Berrios is scheduled to make the start for the Twins

I don't know if the Red Sox are contenders after my trades, but a 3-0 series sweep of Toronto is a good start. Picked up Mondessi from Kansas City to start at 2nd and lead off, Marquez from Colorado for my 4th starter and my faithful Golden Domer Samarjizda to be my 5th starter. My bullpen remains a concern. Mondessi's speed will be a real factor and his OBP could drive the season. Through 3 games he has 5 steals and is getting on base at over a .400 clip.

Mondessi, Bogaerts, Devers, JD, Moreland/Chavis, Benintendi, Verdugo, Vasquez, JBJ/Pillar with a bench of Dalbec and Lucroy.

I’m definitely looking forward to your updates as I’m doing a Twins franchise as well (updating it on here after every series). I’m curious to see how Homer Bailey works out for you. I can’t say he’s doing well for me at all. I can’t seem to catch a break with him. Anyway, good luck on your season.
