Bunch of Clips from game three of a three game set vs the Giants. Fun game right here!

Also been messing around with GamerDVR.com to share clips. Makes things a lot easier since Microsoft doesn't have an actual website anymore to view clips on.

Clips I made earlier I just clipped myself from my twitch stream.

Cardinals end June with 51-35 record leading the NL Central

The Cardinals have closed out the month of June with a 51-35 record and currently lead the NL Central by a game over the Reds and Brewers with the Cubs 2 1/2 out.

The Cardinals will head into July knowing they will be getting Brendan Donovan back at some point, but have suffered yet another significant injury, this time to leading hitter Willson Contreras who suffered a knee injury on the last day of the month and will be out until September. The Cardinals have recalled catching prospect Ivan Herrera from Memphis. Elias Diaz will likely take over the everyday catching duties.

The Cardinals also made a move to help the rotation, although it was via free agency. The Cardinals signed RHP Kyle Gibson to a 1 year deal worth $1M to return to the rotation. Gibson pitched well for the Cardinals last year until a shoulder injury ended his season. Gibson will replace Miles Mikolas who was outright released by the club a few days ago.

The Cardinals will start the busy month of July with the Mets for a 3 game series in Busch. The Cardinals front office is focusing on the upcoming draft (July 12th) and the trade market.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

        2024 Chicago Cubs 06/17-06/19

Overall Record:50-26 (1st NL Central/7.5 over St. Louis)

        Game Results

        Game 1
        Giants-6
        Cubs-0

        Game 2
        Cubs-3
        Giants-1

        Game 3
        Cubs-3
        Giants-2

Cubs win second consecutive series 2-1

The Giants gave the Cubs just their third "losing streak" of 2024. The Giants game won victory made two losses in a row for the Cubs for just the third time this season.

Logan Webb dominated the Cubs with a complete game four hit shutout. Meanwhile, the Giants tee'd off against Jameson Taillon who had been in the early running for the NL CY Young award. The Giants pieced up Taillon to a tune of 14 hits and five runs in just six innings. The first two came via a pair of solo homeruns by Lamonte Wade JR (#7) and Mike Yastrzemski (#9). As mentioned, the scoring didnt stop there and the Giants would get another homerun with Michael Conforto's first of the season in the seventh inning.

The Cubs got on the board first in the 2nd and 3rd games of the series as they won those games, 3-1 and 3-2 to take the series victory. Patrick Wisdom had a tough series as he went just 1-10.

Dansby Swanson had a good game three as he went 3-4 with two doubles and an rbi.

The Cubs will now have a day off before they welcome the Mets (35-50/4th NL East) to town. After that series, the Cubs will finish off their season series against San Francisco with a four game set.

The Cubs also became the MLB's second team to 50 wins but are still well behind the Braves (56-18).

Royals Fall To The Red Sox

The Royals' offense sputtered until finally waking up in the 8th, but it wasn't enough as they lost 5-4. CF Terrell Tatum got his first hit of the season for the Royals as he went 2 for 3 with an RBI. Brady Singer (3-3 2.76 ERA) struggled in the loss, giving up 10 hits, 4 runs, and only getting one strikeout.

            2024 Chicago Cubs 06/21-06/23

Cubs win another series 2-1 behind strong starting pitching

That is aside from game one. Kyle Hendricks started the first game of the Mets and they got 11 hits and 6 runs off of him in only five innings. The Cubs couldnt counter that and lost the first game of the series for the second series in a row, 7-3.

The next two games saw solid starting performances by Jordan Wicks and Jameson Taillon as both went at leats seven innings in their starts with both collecting the win.

Wicks was welcomed back into the rotation as he replaced a struggling Javier Assad. Assad just cant get into shape to be a starting pitcher (stamina hovering around 59-60) and as a result, he has gotten gasses early in starts and ends up turning what could be a good start into a poor one.

The game three win was highlighted by three Cubs homers. One by Cody Bellinger (15), the second by Christopher Morel (16) and the third by backup catcher Miguel Amaya (6).

As mentioned in an earlier article, the Cubs will now hit the road to face the team they beat 2-1 before the Mets, the San Francisco Giants (36-42/4th NL West) in a four game series to conclude the teams' 2024 matchups.

Finally got going on my Mets franchise. I finished Spring Training using dynamic to set my level for the season, which will be Legend+ for pitching and HOF for hitting.

Mets win home opener 3-0 on a Harrison Bader three run HR in the 7th. Wasn't much offense in this game as both teams combined for 11 hits. Neither SP got past the fifth inning. Mets start season 1-0.

I think I will play first game of each series then use custom game entry for the rest of each series. I will also play any special days like Jackie Robinson day, etc.

                    Royals Outlast Phillies In Extras

The Royals knocked off the Phillies 4-3 in 10 innings. Drew Waters went deep, and Max Kepler provided two RBI as the Royals have won their 4th straight road series. Michael Wacha (2-1 4.08 ERA) went 6 innings in the no decision, giving up 5 hits, 3 runs, and striking out 6. The bullpen did its job the rest of the way, not allowing a hit. Nick Anderson (5-2 3.46 ERA) got the win and José Leclerc picked up his 18th save on the season.

End of Season Report Texas Rangers season 3 MOM.

Season 3 ended in true disappointment. We battled all year but still had a 79 and 83 record and never really threatened for a playoff spot after the break. The pitching staff was terrible. Chris Paddack was a disaster. Shane Bieber finished with 19 wins and won the Cy Young but had no help. Paddock finished with a 6.85 era and was sent packing via a trade in the off-season. I had to shed his salary to stay under the Rangers spending limit so I could sign enough players to field 93. Season 4 is upon us as we finished the off-season. Seattle won the World Series defeating the Phillies. Guerrero led the majors in hrs with 48. Seagar had 37 hrs and 99 rbis. We had the number 1 team obp and avg but like I said pitching got us. Here is our projected lineup as we head in to spring training.

C Keiner Falefa. Signed him as a FA last year. Played catcher and hit almost 300
1b Guerrero. 2nd in mvp voting. FA signing after season 2.
2b Brandon Donavan. Acquired in a trade in July for Sebastan Wolcott
                      SS Corey Seagar
                      3b Josh Jung
LF Juan Soto. FA Signing after season 1
                      CF Evan Carter
RF Jazz Chisholm. Fa signing this year
                      DH Wyatt Langford

                      Sp

                      1. Bieber
                      2. Skubal fa signing this year

Haven't updated in a while, but I'm still rolling with my Braves franchise. Loving it except for one thing: Matt Olson and Ronald Acuna Jr. are basically cheat codes for me.

I'm 41 games in and Olson is hitting .341 with 19 homers and 48 RBIs. He's on pace to break the single-season home run record and challenge the single-season RBI record. Acuna isn't far behind, hitting .347 with 15 homers and 41 RBIs. He also has 16 SBs, so he has a chance for a 60-60 season.

I've thought about giving Legend a shot, but I'll probably just stick with HOF for now and see how it goes. We're 29-12, which is just percentage points ahead of the Rangers and Dodgers for best record in MLB.

                            Cardinals limp into All-Star Break

The Cardinals (55-43) limped into the All-Star Break losing 8 of their 12 games in July thus far and trail the Brewers by a single game. Not only are the Cardinals losing games on the field, but they are losing players.

Brendan Donovan is back on the IL with a knee injury that will cost him likely the regular season. Jordan Walker missed the last 4 games prior to the break with an elbow injury and RHP Andre Pallante missed the Pirates series with a sprained ankle.

Newly signed Kyle Gibson is really struggling. 3 starts and a total of 5 innings pitched. Its likely the Cardinals will release Gibson over the break and look to the trade market (Patrick Sandoval is top target)

The break couldn't come at a better time for this club as they heal up and try to get re-focused for the 2nd half run.

Leonardo Bernal Selected for Futures Game

C Leonardo Bernal was selected to the Futures Game. Bernal is hitting .299 with 7 homeruns and 41 RBIs at AA Springfield. Bernal will be the starting catcher for the NL Futures.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I think I just had the worst draft of all time in my Reds franchise.

I desperately need to add young talent that can play 1B as all of my minor league first basemen are 29+ and don't have the skill to make the majors.

During scouting, I heavily poured resources into 1B, C, SP, and OF and found a few prospects that I really liked.

The top player on my board was KENDRICK COATS (OF/SS). In my mind, he was best player available (75-85 potential, overall of at least 70) in the range of where I was drafting (we had the 18th pick and he was ranked in the high 20s according to my scouts).

2a and 2b on my board were REGGIE GUNN (1B/LF, 90-95 potential) and CHARLES ARNESON (1B, 86-91 potential). I don't remember exactly what their projected overalls were but they were very similar.

In the draft, the Rockies took Kendrick Coats at 15 which made my decision much easier: just take the first baseman that I like the most.

I took Reggie Gunn at 18 and the Astros took Charles Arneson at 24.

Once I had everyone signed and got to the view draft picks screen, I was stunned.

Reggie Gunn was a huge bust as was my catcher that I picked up in the third round.

The outfielder that the Rockies snagged before me ended up being an 84 overall with 81 potential, which I guess means that he's good but peaked in college and won't get much better. Still, I'd gladly swap him for Gunn.

The Astros 1B that I passed on is a 89 overall out of the gate with 89 potential. Again, he definitely peaked in college and seemingly won't develop any further but he'd instantly be the best player on my major league squad.

On top of all of this craziness the Marlins somehow were unable to sign a single draft pick!

I'm definitely a little salty about how this draft cycle went but I did have an active trade deadline and was able to flip a lot of expiring contracts for promising prospects. Still, it will be hard to not think about what could have been...
