I’m 2 months into my Yankees franchise using default legend, stride zone analog hitting.

Juan Soto is having a magical, historic season thus far.
Look how crazy these numbers are as June begins!
29HR’s 2 months into the season, insane. Surely this pace cannot continue ?

I know I haven't posted my franchise progress here, but I'm excited tonight my 3 season rebuild of the Angels comes to a conclusion now, with a playoff birth as the 2nd seed. Its been months and months and here we go, wish me luck. I haven't won a WS in the show in 4 years.....Screenshot_20240920_205454_Gallery.jpeg

The Yankees are headed through the last 1/4 of the season. The first 1/2 was full of pitching and hitting domination but the 2nd 1/2 has been an up and down rollercoaster. We have been pretty much been playing .500 baseball.

Our pitching has been hit or miss and our bats have been off and on. Aaron Judge is leading the AL MVP race and Juan Soto has been a steady presence in the lineup.

We just swept the Chicago White Sox and we still hold a 5.5 game lead headed into a 3 game series with the Detroit Tigers who have been a bad team all season. Let’s see if we can keep this positive energy going with Rodon, Gil and Warren.

Juan Soto hits his 30th home run of the season on June 2nd. The record books may have a new all time single season home run king by seasons end.

Unfortunately it hasn’t helped the Yankees much who are 30-31 on the season

                2024 Chicago Cubs 09/19-09/22

Overall Record:104-52 (1st NL Central/17.0 over St. Louis)

                Game Results

                Game 1
                Cubs-5
                Nationals-1

                Game 2
                Cubs-5

                Game 3
                Cubs-6
                Nationals-1

                Game 4
                Cubs-11
                Nationals-4

Taillon's near perfect game two highlights sweep

Jameson Taillon has come close to a no hitter a few times in his MLB career. Friday was another one of those times but he ultimately fell just short. He took not only a no hitter but a perfect game into the 8th inning of the Cubs second game versus Washington. Unfortunately with two outs in the inning, Keibert Ruiz hit a liner into center to end his bid for both. He finished off the eighth before Yency Almonte finished the game off in the ninth. Offensively, Christopher Morel homered twice in the game to extend his games with a HR streak to four. He had also hit two in the first game of the series.

Games three and four were great individual performances by Josh Naylor (3 for 4 with two 2B and 5 RBIS in game three) and Dansby Swanson (3 for 4 with 1 HR and 1 2B and 5 RBIs in game four).

The Cubs now hit the road for the last time in 2024 as they head to Philadelphia to take on the Phillies (92-64/ 2nd NL East/9.5 behind Atlanta). The series is important for both teams as the Cubs try to keep the #1 seed as they are currently two games up on Atlanta and the Phillies try to keep the #1 wildcard seed.

                Whats still up for grabs

With six games left in the regular season, what is still up for grabs?

                1.NL West division

The Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Dodgers are currently tied at 90-66.

Arizona has two home series left with three against the Giants (73-83) and end the season with three against the Padres (75-81)

                Key Injuries
Christian Walker (1B 87 OVR) out for 3-4 more weeks with broken leg
Ketel Marte (2B 90 OVR) out for 1-2 months with dislocated shoulder

The Los Angeles Dodgers finish with the versus the Padres (75-81) and three in Colorado (58-98). Colorado did just beat them, two games to one in their last series.

                Key Injuries
Mookie Betts (SS 99 OVR) out for 3-4 weeks with Broken Shin
Yoshinobu Yamamoto (SP 81 OVR) out for 1-2 weeks with dislocated shoulder

                2. AL West Division

The Houston Astros and Texas Rangers are tied at 90-66

The Astros finish with three versus Seattle (77-79) and three in Cleveland (62-95).

                [B]Key Injuries[/B
Lance McCullers JR (SP 79 OVR) 1-6 days with Elbow Tightness
Jon Singleton (67 OVR 1B) 1-2 months with Torn Schilles

The Rangers finish on the road with three in Oakland (55-101) and three against the Angels (70-86)

                Key Injuries
Adolis Garcia (RF 94 OVR) 3-4 weeks with Broken Shin

                3. AL Wildcard #3 Seed

The Blue Jays and Mariners are battling it out for that final wildcard spot. Toronto currently holds a one game lead over Seattle (78-78 vs. 77-79).The Balimore Orioles and Boston Redsox could also be considered in the mix with records of 74-82 and 73-83.

The Blue Jays finish at home with three against Boston (73-83) and three againt Miami (69-87)

                Key Injuries
                None

The Mariners finish with three in Houston (90-66) and three at home against Oakland (55-101)

                Key Injuries
Dominic Canzone (69 OVR LF) 1-2 weeks with MCL sprain
Mitch Garver (81 OVR C) 1-2 weeks with Torn Pectoral

What to work for in Chicago

Aside for trying to keep the #1 spot, the Cubs individual players have something to continue playing for. Patrick Wisdom is currently projected to finish second in NL MVP voting behind the Braves Austin Riley. His average is what is hurting him here but a great power week could help sway some votes in his favor.

Justin Steele is currently third in the NL Cy Young race behind the Braves Spencer Strider and the Phillies Zack Wheeler. He has one more start projected to come in the Cincinnati series where he can make his final push. Wheeler is not a projected starter in the Cubs series with Philly.

Shota Imanaga currently leads the NL Rookie of the year list with his 16-4 record, 2.99 ERA and 207 SO's. Others on the list are Mets second baseman, Ronny Mauricio and the Giants short stop, Maro Luciano.

Individual stats wise, Christopher Morel (39) and Cody Bellinger (38) have a chance to give the Cubs three players with 40+ homeruns.

Overall, it should be a fun end to the 2024 regular season!

Cardinals add Edwin Diaz and Harrison Bader at trade deadline

The Cardinals have made two trades to add to their major league roster for the 2nd half/postseason run. They also made two trades to bolster their pitching depth within the organization.

The biggest acquisition is RHP Edwin Diaz from the Mets. Diaz has 28 saves this year with a 1.02 ERA and has two years left on his contract after this season. Diaz is having a great bounce back year after struggling last year and losing the closer role to Tanner Scott. Scott was injured much of the first half of the season but now that he's returned to the Mets bullpen, he has resumed his role of closer, bumping Diaz to setup man.

The Cardinals gave up LHP Matthew Liberatore, LHP Cooper Hjerpe (#89 Top 100) and C Jimmy Crooks (#19 catcher prospect) to get Diaz. Diaz will hopefully solidify what has been a rocky bullpen for the Cardinals especially the closer role. The Cardinals lead baseball with 22 blown saves thru July. Next closes team is the Tigers with 15.

The Cardinals also added a fan favorite to help bolster the outfield defense in Harrison Bader. Bader who was playing reserve role with the Diamondbacks, saw his role get cut when they traded for Cedric Mullins earlier this month. Bader was hitting .265 in limited at-bats with the D'Backs.

The Cardinals and D'Backs basically swapped centerfielders as they sent Michael Siani to the D'Backs in exchange for Bader. Siani was given an opportunity to play at the major league level, but things just didn't pan out. Dylan Carlson took over the everyday CF duties and Siani went to the bench. With Victor Scott and Joshua Baez in tow, the likelihood that Siani would see playing time at the major league level past the 2026 season was fairly slim.

With the addition of Bader, the Cards will now move Carlson to his natural right field position and Jordan Walker will resume everyday DH duties, while Lars Nootbaar patrols left field. Alec Burleson was the odd man out and demoted to Memphis where he will DH everyday as Zach Levenson will continue to be the 4th outfielder on the 26 man lineup.

The one area the Cardinals didn't address, not thru the lack of trying, was starting pitching. They targeted Tarik Skubal of the Tigers heavily but the Tigers wanted LHP Louis Turnwall (19 years old and #10 Top 100 prospect) and Victor Scott along with one other person. The Cardinals refused to part with either player thus eliminating any possibility of a deal. They looked at a few others (Reid Detmers, Patrick Sandoval, Casey Mize) but the asking price was just too steep.

It's over. I couldn't get out of the first round vs Seattle. Won the division but Seattle's pitching was pretty tough in that 5 game series. Such a bummer. So the LAA franchise rebuild fell short.

On to my next rebuild challenge for the winter. Eyeing up San Francisco as a complete franchise overhaul challenge. Or possibly Toronto.

Washington is a possibility, too, but that wouldn't be a rebuild since they already started rebuilding.

Hey guys, I apologize once again for a lack of updates.

I've reached mid-May 2026 in my Nationals franchise, and once again feel like this might be the end of the road for this group. The offense has struggled to put up runs, and that was before Mitch Haniger went to the IL. Washington then lost Brandon Drury and Brandon Nimmo for the year with a dislocated ankle and torn MCL, in back to back games no less. I am in currently in-game right now and just lost Nolan Jones to a torn pectoral, which would make it three significant injuries in three straight games.

The pitching has been inconsistent. A perfect example would be Josiah Gray, who had a 10K gem in one start, and followed it up with a 4 inning, 7 earned run start five days later.

Nonetheless, Washington currently sits at 19-20, just one game behind Atlanta in a tight division that doesn't see any team really looking like it's ready to take off. They are, by necessity, getting a look at their deep farm system; with top prospect Robert Hassel being called up following the bevy of injuries. He joins Jeremy de la Rosa and James Wood in a group of talented young players who are expected to do great things for this organization.

On to my next rebuild challenge for the winter. Eyeing up San Francisco as a complete franchise overhaul challenge. Or possibly Toronto.

Washington is a possibility, too, but that wouldn't be a rebuild since they already started rebuilding.
Fell short but you made the playoffs, something the Halo's didn't do for a while! ;-)

Next up, it would be interesting to see what you can do with Toronto. I still can't figure, with the last 3 years, if this team is close or not. I get the injuries and so on, but how can you expect to compete in that division with teams like New York, Boston, Baltimore, and the best bang for buck Rays.

I'll follow the story but the Jays are kind of interesting!

The Jays are interesting because I think they blew their chance in the last 2 years. And now they're at sort of a crossroads. Yep, interesting team to take over.

I think I just had my most dominant 2-series stretch in all my years of playing The Show.

Coming out of the All-Star break in my Red Sox franchise (I lost a lot of time due to CFB25) I had a short road trip in LA and Colorado. I lost the series to the Dodgers, and swept the Rockies.

I know what you're thinking. A dominant stretch with a lost series? Stick with me.

Both losses to LA were 1-run games. 1-0 and 2-1, I like to think of it as lights out defense instead of bad offense.

                                Game 3, I win 19-2 with 25 hits.

Game 1 against Colorado, normal 4-0 win. Still not dominating. Then games 2 & 3 happen. 14-3 and 15-1. Doubles, triples, homers, walks, everything. Both of those games I hit for the team cycle (which I know isn't a thing).

I added it all up and I outscored the Rockies 33-4, and outhit them 51-22.

Including that Dodgers game, over 4 games I outscored the other team 52-6 and outhit them 76-28.

I don't think I've ever had that much success in a 4-game span.
