I think I've just kinda lost my will to keep going.

Got "disconnected" twice while going for WS, and half my opponents were obnoxious.

And these missions are just insane. I've already beat conquest three times and that includes extreme. The thought of grinding for merely one career arc is insane to me. Eventually, you just get sick and tired of beating up on rookie CPU just to merely pile up stats, you know?

Maybe I'll feel different tomorrow but I went from grinding too much to not even wanting to touch the game anymore. Because let's say I do get an immortal...what's the trade off? I will have spent way too much of my time going for a card that I might get to use for a month or two before the community moves to another game or something along those lines.

And yes I'm super sour. It's just, they dropped the ball waiting this long to release these, and then said "all that work you put in the first three months...DO IT AGAIN!" I guess at the end the day these shouldn't be easy to get but I'm also not about to spend my summer playing rookie CPU over and over and over again.

Re: What are you working on thread

These career arcs are bull****. So now all of a sudden we have Career Arcs that are more difficult to get than some of the immortals? I’m totally fine with grinding missions. It’s a reward for play(which is why it was SO STUPID to remove those career goals) but to release these kinds of grinds 3 MONTHS into the game? I could have been working on these already. Now I need to play like 35 games vs cpu on easy with only 1B to get Thomas. When I could have organically been working on this all along.

Madden is out in a month. I’m done with this game. Progressively worse the last 3 years. SDS gonna have to win me back next year. So disappointed in them this year.

Pretty much this. If I would have known what these looked like, I probably wouldnt have been grinding all this time. It just feels a little dirty the way they have rolled these out and basically kept the requirements a secret until they drop.

What we really need is more reasons to play the CPU, so we feel like we are working toward something else besides stats. Something like FIFA's squad battles or different CPU missions where you have to play on various difficulties. I am sick of just going to play CPU and picking a random team.

Well if it wasn’t an obvious cash grab before it sure is now...shame on them. I thought nobody could be as greasy and greedy as EA HUT but SDS, a company I loved has proven me wrong. Finally unlock your immortals after wasting days or cash to acquire the souvenirs needed now mindlessly continue playing the CPU on rookie just to have your immortals by the time you shelve the game in the fall. Embarrassing and real kick in the nads.

Also....thanks SDS for adding so much more work to do since I still need 23 more doubles with Cal Ripken Jr. after over 300 At bats and 2 months of trying....

I also see now that my lineup is full mission players the CPU on rookie is going to play like HOF

550k's and 200 saves for Rollie Fingers. LOL. Thats more than I needed to get for Immortal Gossage stats missions. What a joke this game has become.

This used to be a game I played for 12 months straight. I dont even know if Ill get to the all star break this year.

I honestly cant wait until the bubble bursts on these card collecting modes and these companies are left with their trash gameplay and other modes theyve ignored for half a decade and they wonder where it all went wrong. The integrity of their game/product has disappeared so that they could milk every penny out of all of us. Its such a shortsighted business plan.

They used to have the best sports game by leaps and bounds. Its the sole reason I bought a PS3. Its the sole reason I went PS4 over Xbox 1. I made a mistake.

Re: What are you working on thread

It’s bad enough that they make us grind ridiculous stats but to manipulate the game play is insult to injury. I don’t care if people think im crazy I know what I’m experiencing. Loaded my line up and staff with mission players and played Detroit on rookie.

Won 3-2 in 12 innings only had 5 hits
                    Lost 2-1 only 3 hits

I normally give up no runs or 1 run to any CPU team on rookie and I usually put up 17-20+ hits scoring no less than 8 runs. So I change my line up to similar but non mission players and played two more games vs Detroit on rookie

                    Win 14-0 24 hits
                    Win 9-0 17 hits

Change back to my mission players and played Detroit on rookie

                    1-0 loss 3 hits

The CPU was making diving and leaping catches I’ve never seen on rookie. Playing amazing defense and their pitchers paint corners. Their batters will have one inning where they hit like HOF.

Sounds like a conspiracy I know but I know what I’m seeinh. Anyone else? Am I nuts?

FYI: this doesn’t happen if I only have 3-4 mission players in but if you stack your team with mission players

Agreed with what has been said here. If the grinds were going to be this involved they should have released the career arcs in the opposite order so people would actually have time to compile all these stats.

As it is now, I feel like all the time I spent flipping the last 2 months was absolutely pointless. I have 4 immortals at 85% and probably will only be able to complete one, maybe two because I have a FT job and a family. I can’t spend every waking moment playing games on rookie. Yawn.

DD has been totally mismanaged this year.

I'm half tempted to start from scratch on my wifes account, as that way there is just so much more to do. Instead of just an aimless, boring grind I could be doing those conquest missions again, the Griffey missions, knocking out team epics and all the position player arcs, while improving my team of bronze and silver misfits as I go. At the moment I find the amount of very dull, miles away grinding a bit unappealing.

Off topic... Over/Under on when the 1st Immortal gets unlocked?

I think someone will have one by this time next week.
Someone already obtained Immortal Pujols within hours of the release. They also got Career Arc Frank Thomas.

The user that unlocked these cards has played Diamond Dynasty for...get ready for it...almost 609 hours. That's more than 25 DAYS.

I grinded to get Chipper and Piazza to 85% but if I now have to put a tonne more time in I won't bother. Was already tired of playing on Rookie and buying hats , jerseys and bobbleheads nonstop.

Thats what theyve done to this game. Just stack your first three hitters and keep playing the first inning and quitting and playing the first inning and quitting. All of that kids starting pitchers are like 10-70 because thats all he does. These devs are a joke.

Im done with DD. Playing DD literally feels like a chore. You sit there and grind for hours and everyone dreads it. That isnt what video games are supposed to be. Maybe ill see how long I can last playing franchise or RTTS.

As someone who generally enjoys grinding for cards, these grinds are pretty insane. The hitters are more manageable because you can load your lineup and collect stats rather quickly, but the pitching requirements are nuts. 200 saves to finish Rollie Fingers?! Even on conquest, that's probably 50 hours of games. Oof.
