Took 67 games but finally done Joe Torre's 15 doubles mission to finish his career arc.

Kinda thinking about pursuing this card because man, Ozzie/Omar don't get me anything but singles. Love their defense but it can be a little annoying when they get to the plate

Working on the slow grind of position programs(Still can't finish Daniel Nava as well), and the Justin Verlander Program. I'd have it by now if the Brandon Crawford wasn't my worst hitting card. Through 104 at bats, he has 9 hits. For context the Teoscar card I'm using to grind Blue jay AB's and SB's has 27 hits in 70 ABs

Up to a lot of grinding type missions. The Griffey stats are enormous and the 25 doubles with Ripken are annoying. I’ve hit 2 doubles in about 10 games with him so I can imagine getting 23 more will take around 100 mind numbing games against the CPU.

Re: What are you working on thread

I've got 11 hits to go to progress from the Gold Pujols to the Diamond. I've found the Gold to be so awesome...possibly the best hitter I've used, so I am very excited to see what the Diamond is like. For those that have already been using him.....please tell me he is even better?!?!?

Completing the 11 hits will also give me Pujols autograph baseball which will complete my collection to get Sandberg (rather than having to pay up to get Yogi or Kaline).

                Aside from that:
                - 12 more doubles for Torre
                - 6 more IP for Jack Morris
                - 19 more doubles for Ripken (still using his first card since I haven't done any of the Immortal exchanges)
                - 1 more CG for June stats
                - still working through each of the most recent positional player programs. Focusing on Gleyber the most. Even though I hate the Yanks I think once I get him he will be a clear upgrade for me at SS (although in game the Desmond card has been one of my faves).

Still having fun but finding less spare time to grind at the moment

                Cheers

I'm a huge fan of diamond Pujols, other than his inability to hit the double required for his mission. "Unfortunately" everything he gets hold of flies into the upper deck so getting that double is tough, but as problems go it's not a bad one to have!

                    what am I working on?

the same thing I'm always working on.

playing ranked seasons, earning coins, and slowly but surely building a team with solid players that I like.

I like the pack concept, and never buy players. My personal rule is my team can only be comprised of players I opened in packs. I also buy a pack as soon as I get 1000 coins, so I'm generally pretty broke.

I got greedy and sold a lot of players that I had a tough time playing well with: Snell, Kiermaier (regret this... his defense was awesome), Stroman, Adam Jones, Fulmer, Cesar. Also couldn't resist selling Josh Hader for like 5600 coins, but it wasn't worth it. I miss him.

current team is nothing special, but it's coming along:

                    1. Adam Eaton
                    2. Yoan Moncada
                    3. George Springer
                    4. Travis Shaw
                    5. Lorenzo Cain
                    6. Greg Bird (Joey Gallo - hitting like .086)
                    7. Kyle Schwarber
                    8. Pitcher
                    9. young Omar Vizquel (abysmal offense, but good defense + speed)

                    Rotation
                    1. Dallas Keuchel (looove pitching with control guys like him... like butter)
                    2. Miles Mikolas (game needs to give him a serious skills boost)
                    3. Sean Manaea (mix of 2-seamer away + down-and-in slider give people serious trouble)
                    4. Marco Estrada
                    5. Hisashi Iwakuma (fun to pitch with)

                    spot starter: Alex Reyes

                    Bullpen:

                    Brach
                    Barnes
J.P. Howell (I use him every year; no one can touch him)
Rosenthal (closer - low rating but throws 100)

Re: What are you working on thread

Finally making my first focused effort on playing Ranked Seasons. I'm 10-1 with my only "loss" coming when my power inexplicably went out while I was up by ten runs. That said, I've had the far better team in every game I've played, and all of my opponents have been Bronze level XP.

Overall I've found the experience really enjoyable. I've had very few of the maddening things I've seen mentioned play out in my games, though I'm sure those are coming. I've pitched really well and my hitting has been inconsistent, but I'm starting to get used to online play now. I started at 0 and I'm now at 530ish. The goal is to get to 800 this season so I can get that free Diamond! I think 900 is a pipe dream, but that's what I'll be shooting for in July. Looking forward to the new programs and career arcs to hopefully bolster my team with new Indians, Griffey, Goose or Wagner!

Finished Gleyber & Rosenthal today. Big Sexy is my only uncompleted position program.

Almost have my CAP to 89. Ready for some more **** to do tomorrow.

Im now convinced the game makes it harder to complete player missions on purpose. Im currently doing the Chris Heisey, Gordon Beckham, and Brock Holt missions. I can be mashing a pitcher, yet the only ones that will make weak contact regularly(even with the pitcher at low confidence) are the players I'm trying to do missions with. Oh and this has happened three times: Gordon Beckham is 2H, 2R for completion. Somehow, I got a hit and one run previously in the game. Even more rare, I happened to get a weak contact single for a the second hit. I manage to make it to third with the bases loaded, no outs, and my power bats coming up. I work the count, get my pitch and pop out. No biggie, I got two more outs. Game says nope. Get my pitch again and ground into double play. It's happened three times. Its just funny now, not even frustrating.
