bought a PS3 today. First game going pretty well, way too many homers its 9-4 I'm losing in the 8th when....

I throw my worst pitch of the game, a curveball bounced 5 feet in front of the plate.

And of course CPU Nate McLouth hits a 411 foot home run off of it somehow.

Try dropping the CPU strikes slider and CPU pitcher consistency slider to zero and you will have the CPU throwing a lot more (and more realistic) amount of balls and more balls that miss by a larger margin (as opposed to a lot of the balls being just off the corners and tough to take.

Myself and others have been using this slider adjustment with great results so far. It makes hitting easier, but also more realistic as the number of strikes thrown (and the number of 0-2 counts you reference) was a bit unrealistic.

By the way the Twins cam is the nicest. At least you got good eyesight for that...

I love that cam and I agree. I just thought it was funny. It seems like I see more of your complaints than your praises. It is all good.

Is there anyway to see the mph on the pitch besides having to turn on the icons

I like to see how fast or slow a pitch comes in but do not want to turn on the icons for pitching

Yeah, it's seemed that way to me as well. I'm still drawing a good amount of walks, but I've gone down looking on clear cut balls on the inside/outside more than ever. I'm going to start paying attention and seeing which ump I'm getting. It could be that I've run into the same wide strike zone guy over and over.

I guess the bright side is that I've been getting the calls to as a pitcher, which might explain why I've done so well thus far on that side of things.

Also, pitch speed seems faster across the board. I popped in 10 to check and it really feels that way by comparison. I played with it one click left on 10 and am all the way left on 11 and it still feels faster.

I'm not saying it has to be messed with, but it would be nice if the slider for it at least had a bit more range in how it changes for those of us with terrible eyesight and/or reactions.

I will just say this this is an amazing game. I love how there is finally player separation and the game is so smooth. I hit a double that the left fielder play a bad angle and his momentum took him in the wall. It looked so real. Also momentum is great in this game. You have to really think about your player's momentum.

up top where it says the score of the game and outs, innings and the like.
it shows there after each pitch i think it takes the place of the present ball/strike count, then disappears after a second or two.

You can also push down on the LS to see location and speed.

For as much as the commentary gets knocked...I'm loving all the references you're hearing in franchise to previous games in the series...
That...and the ticker are really...really nice additions for franchise immersion.
...and....just had Alfonso Soriano play the ball badly off the wall and for lWilmer Flores' first big league hit...a stand up double. Took a bad angle..and ran right past where it bounced...

Guess I'm not the old man you guys thought I was when I said bad plays off the wall can happen

Totally agreed. And I am so glad Soriano is business as usual! You did NOT see that last year.

The fielding is night and day, different, smoother, and better.
