Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread

Is it just me or does it seem like the RTTS trading system as well as the teams overalls make no sense.

Red Sox were 1st in every category, yet they ended up being 4th in the east. Jays trading makes no sense. They keep adding SP to their team when they already have more than enough(as well as my RTTS guy who's the ace on the team) and are trading great players for NOTHING(they TRADED Bautista for some no name pitcher who they didn't even resign!!!!)

Do they hand out awards like cy young and stuff in RTTS cause I really think my guy might have won it since he lead the league in many categories.

Also, can anyone help me out on this:

      Re: RTTS Level 5

Same thing with me me and Contact training-I just can't get Level 5 in it.You have to have solid contact on 10 out of 20 balls, and it doesn't count if you hit it fair but not solid. I've tried 20 times, but I don't think I'll ever get it.

This RTTS mode can be so wonky at times, but having a blast with it. I started out on the Tennessee Smokies and was traded halfway through to the Birmingham Barons within 6 months. Then I get promoted to the AAA Charlotte Knights which I'm pitching very well winning my games. I get sent to AA Birmingham Barons again and then I get traded to the Jacksonville AAA team.

How Many Skill Points To Buy (rtts)

I started playing RTTS recently now in my 2nd year, on the bench in AAA. I was just wondering for those of you who have purchased the points in the PSN store how much have you spent on points in the past for one player and how did it effect your guy?

I believe if I remember correctly the price was:

          $0.99 = 1000 points

I'd like to think 5K of points would be more than enough to become an all around good player (Grady Sizemore style lets say) nothing over the top but a definate improvement.

any tips? experiences? Itd be nice if this were just a cheat as opposed to spending real money but owell it worked on me I guess...

I don't have auto save on because it takes like 30 years to save and I don't want to wait forever after every single RTTS game. I didn't save, and now I have to start the year over and play those, and sim through ST again, and do the training sessions.

**** **** **** I'm so pissed. Yeah 10 games won't take that long, but it's annoying because I started so well and I built up a lot of XP.

Between this, and my credit card getting jacked for $1900 because of the PSN bull****, I want to murder every single person at Sony. I'm getting my money back, but it's a huge inconvenience right now to go through that.

Hopefully this isn't a sign of my PS3 bricking. I don't know the symptoms and it's never happened to me, but I'll be very mad if I have to go buy a new PS3. I'm not playing this game for a week. **** this.

            Yes, I mad.
So after doing some research, I'm pretty sure I just got the PS3 Yellow Light Of Death. I've had my PS3 for almost exactly 2 years, and keep it in mint condition, fully ventilated, etc. I've played literally every game for 4 seasons of Road To The Show, and 3 months of my Season. If I lose that stuff, I'm going to be very annoyed (which I probably will).

It happened once the other night while I was playing The Show. It just shut off when I was playing and I had to wait overnight because I couldn't get it to turn on to take the game out. I tried it again the next day, it worked for 10 minutes, and then I had to wait overnight to get the game out. I'm afraid to put it back in and try it again. After doing some research, it seems like my system is probably fried. I'm going to try some demos tommorrow, though, and see what happens.

Every god damned ****ing year something happens where I can't get through a Road To The Show.

08 it was too hard (lol) and I couldn't make it to the majors. 09 had that stupid ****ing glitch where everything got erased in mid-September of 2014 (happened to me after playing every single game for 5 and 3/4 seasons), and last year I was busy with other stuff and skipped on The Show. Now this. I am mad.

I'm going to lose my RTTS, which I've played every game for 4 seasons, and finally built my guy up to be a legit major leaguer (attributes wise) and I'll lose all of the 2 months I played in my Red Sox season, too. ****ing *** **** mother****ing **** **** **** ****.

After it F'd up the first time, I tried it again the next day and it worked fine for 10 minutes, and then it stopped working again. I'm going to see if it works again tomorrow, even if it's only for 10 minutes, and if it does I'm putting my RTTS and Season saves on a USB.

Re: Why is the Earned run system in RTTS so off?

I am fairly certain that in the scenario you described above
              a) the runner who scored got on base without an error
              b) there was no error with 2 outs that should have ended the inning
meaning the run is earned as the game scored it

Re: Your best single game performance in RTTS

I haven't had a game that stood out for good production, but I did go 1-for-11 in a 25-inning loss to the Brewers. I assume that's the worst performance in a single game.

lol....i spent $25 on points and thats how much it took to make my guy a stud. im still not maxed out on points. and you dont want to be on hitting. i found out the hard way by maxing out power and contact and now i dont get jack **** to hit. id keep those in the mid to high 80s. everything else you can max out and have a fun time. however, 25000 points goes faster than you think. youll beef your guy up but it wont max him out. i know it seems like it would. 1000, hell even 5000 wont do ****. id say buy 10000 and see how you feel. the cost for skill points up as you fill the meter, so 10000 isnt all that much.

A couple things that bother me:

When your at bat in RTTS, and your third base coach gives you the hit and run sign, and you dont make contact with the ball, and the runner is safe at second...the next pitch, the runner takes off from second, as if the hit and run is on again...and if you swing and miss again...and the runner steals third....guess what? He tries to steal home....a bit ridicilous.

The carrer pitching stats on RTTS while the next game is loading is all jacked up...none of the numbers are correct...i'm sure i dont have an ERA of 57932

These are both known bugs, and reports have been filed already.

I've found if you call timeout (down on the D pad after the pitcher goes into his set) after the steal, it prevents the runner from stealing third. I usually do it twice in a row, and it works almost every time, if not every time.

Just me, but I never understood buying points. The RTTS is all about the satisfaction of developing your player, and it's never taken me more than 3 seasons to make the majors.
