Re: MLB 11 The Show "Franchise/Season" Progress Thread

I don't know the answer to your question mate, sorry.

After a stern talking too - in my mind - the Mariners righted the ship with a sweep of Boston at Safeco Field. Matt Garza led things off, going six inning with two runs and 107 pitches in a 3-2 win. Doug Fister and the Mariners rocked the Sox 10-3 against Matsuzaka.

In the finale, Felix Hernandez went 8.2 innings throwing 121 pitches with two earned. David Aardsma got his 49th save of the year. Our runs came on a Miguel Olivo two run homerun, which felt great because I guessed right on a fastball inside, and an Adam Lind homerun for a 3-2 win. Great job by Seattle.

Quick question. I know Brandon League has a Split Finger but it's not in the game. Any idea of its ratings?

well i went back and started over hehe, you're right it is a really unrealistic trade i wanna play it realistically and only trade players that get offers on the trading block. i only lost like 9 games that i had played by starting over because i had just started but its worth it i think. the braves are ranked 4th overall (i put Mclouth in LF, and Prado at 1st and sent freddie freeman to AAA) anyways without that trade so i should still have a pretty good chance of making it to the world series, winning is another matter though depends on who i face i guess but that's a LONG ways away as i play every game of the regular season so maybe in a month or two I'll see.

plus because a lot of my players are aging i should be able to sign them to lower contracts in the off season which means i can probably pick up some young talent with extra money in free agency. i really want to trade Tim Hudson though to free up cap space he's like 15 million a season right now with multiple years and he's also like 37 or 35 years old. i'll see what kind of offers i get he's up on the trade block but i might need him for the postseason i don't know.

I really don't want to rant about a game as good as this one, but something is seriously wrong with the Awards. Michael Pineda is 10-9 with a 2.45 ERA - best in the game, and 138 strikeouts - second to Felix Hernandez. He has the best WHIP and least amount of walks allowed. Only ten homeruns allowed, best in the game. Yet, John Lackey is leading the Cy-Young with an ERA of 3.79. LOL WUT??? I guess the devs weren't paying attention to last years winner with only 12 wins...

Lackey is 14-5. A good record, don't get me wrong, but Pineda has 20 more strikeouts and an ERA and WHIP that are far better. I didn't think wins mattered that much, considering Felix won it last year.

I've got the same problem with the Mariners, only with King Felix. I lead the AL in every category except wins, and am 3rd in the Cy Young race. It looks like the game goes strictly by wins, which is a little disappointing.

i had a reliever win the cy young multiple times with a 12-0 record, no games started. isnt that what the rolaids relief award is for? relievers?

Seems like its based on wins. Shame. I remember back in 2009 when Brandon Morrow should have won it with me, but lost to Jon Lester. They happened to match up in the postseason and let's just say the "real" Cy-Young winner got the win that night.

Awards is definitely something they need to work on for next year, especially Cy Young and Gold Gloves. My current Franchise has these as the top 3 AL Cy Young candidates late in the year.

                          1. Erik Bedard - BOS - 16-4 4.47 ERA 1.40 WHIP 148SO 58BB 2CG 0SH
                          2. Alexi Ogando - TEX - 12-2 1.91 ERA 1.09 WHIP 157SO 57BB 3CG 3SH
                          3. Matt Garza - BAL - 14-7 2.86 ERA 1.17 WHIP 137SO 73BB 7CG 3SH

Ogando and Garza are #1/2 in AL IP/ERA/WHIP, Ogando #2 in SO. Both of them have 6 more QS and 20 more IP then Bedard as well. The race shouldn't even be close with Ogando's numbers currently but I'm sure Bedard will hit 20w and win the award. With all the stats, including the advanced stats they have in the game, they should be able to easily write better scripts for award winners and make it understand when the team is the reason the pitcher has those wins.

Bedard is even #3 for MVP, though he won't win it with Miguel Cabrera's .347 40HR 98RBI with 39 games left in the season, although Detroit is currently 4.5 games back in the wild card to my new and improved O's.

I have 8 games left in the season, I have a 4.5 game lead over the Cardinals. I have 2 games left with the Brewers before I go to STL for a 3 game series.

                                Intense.
