I got Austin Jackson's average up from .160 to .200 now. He's 5 for his last 12 with a HR and a few stolen bases. Swiped 3rd a few times.
I'm horrible with Boesch. No idea why, I can't get his swings to connect for whatever reason. But I dominate with Guillen and Ordonez.

Re: MLB 11 The Show "Franchise/Season" Progress Thread

Sitting at 15-11 right now, it's been a struggle offensively, luckily my pitching is carrying me. My starters, not my bullpen. I think Lilly wants to put a hit on the bullpen right now.

        NL West Standings:
        Colorado Rockies 18-7
San Francisco Giants 15-9 2.5 GB
Los Angeles Dodgers 15-11 3.5 GB
San Diego Padres 9-16 9.0 GB
        Arizona Diamondbacks 9-16 9.0 GB

        Statistics:
        Rafael Furcal: .261 0 HR 4 RBI
        Juan Uribe: .191 3 HR 6 RBI
        Matt Kemp: .173 4 HR 10 RBI
        Andre Ethier: .220 5 HR 13 RBI
        Marcus Thames: .140 2 HR 4 RBI
        Casey Blake: .241 1 HR 6RBI
        Russell Branyan: .360 0 HR 3 RBI
        James Loney: .189 2 HR 4 RBI
        Rod Barajas: .243 2 HR 7 RBI
        Jamey Carroll: .388 1 HR 5 RBI
        Jay Gibbons: .351 1 HR 6 RBI
        Dioneer Navarro: .273 0 HR 0 RBI
Tony Gwynn Jr: .400 0 HR 0 RBI

Furcal got hurt last game, so I put him on the 15 DL and called up Dee Gordon.

        Pitching:
        Clayton Kershaw 3-0 2.88 ERA 38 K's 3 BB's
        Chad Billingsley 2-1 2.34 ERA 36 K's 4 BB's
        Ted Lilly 1-0 1.24 ERA 22 K's 1 BB
        Hiroki Kuroda 2-1 1.08 ERA 26 K's 2 BB's

Re: MLB 11 The Show "Franchise/Season" Progress Thread

In my season the Yankees are 8-20 worst record in the Majors.

The Royal are in first place in their division with a 16-11 record.

The Phillies are 10-16 last in their division.

Blue Jays lead their division with a 18-9 record.

Cards have the best record in the majors 20-7.

Javier Vazquez leads the majors with a 5-0 record and a 1.34 era.

and finally I'm 14-12 with the Mets tied in the east with the Marlins.

            Weird season man lol.

              Question:

I am only controlling 1 team, and I am one month into my season. How/am I still able to control all 30 teams to fix the leagues lineups, remove knuckleballs from fake minor leaguers, etc?

Also, I think it would be to cool for MLB12 see a pitcher's attributes change automatically if he is changed from a SP to a CL. For example, a SP that is converted to a closer will loose stamina but gain velocity; and vice versa. I mean, other than a few guys a year out of college, there is not many true closers in the minors. They are converted SPs for the most part.

The only way is to start all over again sorry. Can't change in the middle of a season or chise.

After winning the season opener behind a nice start by CC, Detroit took the next 2.

In game 1 vs Minnesota, Garcia has a strong outing as Yanks win.

2-2 with 3 good outings although the pen would blow Hughe's good start.

Tex is raking while Jeter and A-Rod are struggling.
Did put Gardner in the leadoff spot and he has rewarded me, hitting .353 right now and 4/4 on steals.

I'm currently 27-29 with the Twins. I can't seem to pass the .500 mark. My team sucks in the infield defensively. Michael Young is on the trading block and I'm in need of a good glove at 3rd. My team also has one of the worst BA in the Majors which Young would help me improve since he's a contact hitter and a good fielder.
                    Any comments?

It's funny how these things workout. There is always players you can't hit with no matter what. Last year it was Cabrera for me, and I always struggled with Ordonez. I look at Boesch's ratings, and they are OK vs RHP, but not great. I have a feeling he is going to come down to earth and in that case I would have a problem in RF.

Also I always struggled with Escobar, couldn't hit with him for 3 years. But he is hitting .306 for me now. The game is just funny sometimes.

Valencia is out for 2 months and his numbers weren't too bad or too good, kinda average but, I'm close on making that for Young to see if my team can hit a run for first place in the division.

Just restarted a new franchise. Just went strictly with the Rockies as I wasn't feeling the two team franchise. Immediately a traded for two Tigers as I shipped Ubaldo Jimenez, Todd Helton, and an A potential CF to Detroit for Miggy and Justin Verlander.

First game was opening day against the D-Backs. As usual I struck out way too much but had a few clutch homeruns to take a 7-6 lead into the ninth. Was trailing 6-4 going into the 8th and when Seth Smith hit an opposite field 3 run homer to give me a one run cushion. The problem was I didn't have a chance to get Houston Street fully warm.

It ended up costing me as he went on to be absolutely shelled in the 9th. Giving up 5 runs. I go down in order in the bottom half and lose.

I just simply can't win at this game.

4-2 so far in my Giants franchise....

Took 3 out of 4 from the Dodgers, and split the 2 game set in San Diego.

Game 1 vs LA...was up 2-1 in the 8th...2 outs, 2 men on, Kemp up, I bring Wilson in for the 4 out save. Kemp blasts a 3 run HR off the 1st pitch. Aimed low, ended up right down the middle lol. Lincecum took the loss after a solid outing.

Game 2...I won 8-7 on a sac fly in the top of the 9th. Cain gave up 5 ER in 4.2 IP.

                            Game 3...Won 4-1. Sanchez pitched a gem.

Game 4...in a 1-1 tie in the top of the 9th, Huff hit a solo shot to go up 2-1. Wilson closed it out.

Then the San Diego series...man this team is still a pain in the ***, lol.

Game 1....Tim Stauffer pitched a 3 hit shutout against me, had him jammed up in the 7th down 2-0 with the bases loaded, 1 out, but that bullpen came in and shut me down. This guy owned my Giants last year IRL too. 2-0 was the final score.

Game 2...Wade Leblanc had me completely off balance, I had 2 hits up till the 6th inning in a 0-0 ball game, I was whiffing on everything. Then something just clicked in that 6th inning. I scored 5 in the 6th, hit 4 doubles, my balls were finding those deep gaps in Petco. Ended up winning 9-3. It felt so good to finally have that breakthrough, I was in a complete funk. Lincecum went 8.0 IP, 4 hits, 1 BB, 7 K's.

Next I'll be hosting St.Louis in my Home opener. Will feel good to play at AT&T for the first time.

Re: MLB 11 The Show "Franchise/Season" Progress Thread

Started a franchise with the Jays.

Couldn't decide on who would make the team as the 5th starter, so I made myself as the ace.

Lost the 1st game to the Twins 1-0, was out hit 7-5. I gave up 4 hits, 2BB and 10K, and the 1ER.

Almost got to Nathan as he walked two with one out, but two ground outs later and I was done.

                              Game 2 was a classic....almost.

Down 3-0 after a throwing error, misplay of a ball in right and then a 3 run HR to Morneau.

                              Down 4-1 after 5.

I score 4 to take the lead 5-4 after 6.

                              Promptly give 3 so it's 7-5, I score one in the 7th 7-6.

We trade runs in the 8th and it 8-7 Twins

The Twins score one in the 9th on a bunt, steal, ground out, sac fly and I think it's over.

I have Escobar, Lind, Bautista coming up. Escobar strikes out for the 3rd time in the game ("get out your hats"). Lind draws a walk and Bautista pounds his second no doubter of the game, Tied 9-9!! I get a hit with Snider but nothing more.

Extra innings. I have burned through my 'pen, Purcey and Carlson are gone and Frasor has been in for 2 innings, so I go to Dotel, and much like I fear will happen against lefties in real life, he comes in and serves up back-to-back HR's to Mauer and Morneau and we are down 11-9. Dotel then K's Cuddyer, loads the bases, gets a pop-up, rings up the next guy and........

                              My PS3 dies!!!

Was going to go buy a new one, but found a guy who could fix it (I got the red light, this guy guarantees his work forever so I figured $40 is better than $300 +).

I get a chance to replay the game last night and get pounded 12-3, giving up 17 hits.

The Jays have 0 HR (after having 3 or 4 in that game that never happened) and only 10 hits.

I was tired last night and I should know better than to play drunk or tired, I need 100% concentration to play.

Oh and I was getting to play in the day time because the wife gave me the morning kid-free since it was my birthday!

I spend the time that I was going to use playing the Show for 5 un-interrupted hours dropping my PS3 off to get fixed and helping my cousin move pinball machines around his house.

                                Happy Birthday to me!
