I simmed to the 4th offseason and I saw a couple of weird things. Joey Votto agreed to a 1 year 400K deal in the exclusive period. Also, no one bid on SP Yavani Gallardo and I also got him to agree to a 1 year 400K deal. I later released Votto to see what sort of bids he would get in FA, but he never showed up under contracts in the offseason. He did show up in spring training as the top FA, but wanted 15 million each year for 3-6 years and wouldn't negotiate. FWIW, no team except me had more than 15 million in cap room in spring training.Is all this an issue of budgets?

Well, as expected, Danny Valencia is definitely juicing. He has 13 HR's in the last 10 games.

Just finished a fantasy draft and my team looks like this:

Right field : Jason Heyward

Sweet, what roster moves have you made? With exception to Mauer, Valencia has been the most productive player for me offensively

i added a ace in Hernandez,traded blackburn and a A prospect for him. the highlight reel i posted he was starter in that game didnt pitch well but i had a good come back, i sweeped whitesox so now im 24-7 got 4 games vs redsox now, btw i play all star hitting and pitching

39 games in and sitting in 2nd place in the AL Central with the White Sox.

23-16 record so far behind the 24-15 Tigers and the 23-15 Royals.

In the others divisions, the Red Sox lead the AL East with a 27-12 record.
Oakland is already 7.0 games in front of Texas with a nice 26-14 record.
(Texas is 2nd with only 19 wins in 40 games, Seatlle 3rd with 17 wins and the Halos dead last with 13 wins!)

In the NL, the Marlins lead their division. However it's a tight race between the Marlins, Nationals, Phillies and Braves.

The Reds are in top of the central with the Cards 4.0 games behind.
The defending champs' are leading the NL West.

My pitching is doing well (3.71 ERA 9th) and my pen is doing a masterful job. 14 saves, 3 BS.

My offense is waking up (.257 avg good for 20th).
I'm still one of the best team in walks. I'm 3rd with 151 walks in 39 games (3.87 BB / game), 7 walks shy of the first place Rays.

Dunn & Konerko are still my only power threats.
Dunn is now sitting at 13 dingers (previous game against the Halos he hit 3 bombs, one sent 447 feet away) and Konerko has 6.

Dunn has also 38 RBI in 39 games meanwhile Pierre has 34 runs in 37 games played.

I've just claimed D. MacDonald from the RedSox, who was DFA for Kelvim Escobar, who has been signed fron the FA pool.

I'm considering keeping McDonald in the Majors or call up prospect Jordan Danks. Danks has been outstanding in the few games he played. But I want him to play everyday so I'll keep him in AAA and maybe call him up in July.

This makes L. Milledge available for a trade. I don't want a lot for him, a AA CP fits well. However it seems (with OSFM) that there is a lack of CP especially in the minors.
So if I don't find any team for him, I'll probably release him.

PS: Buerhle got win #150th in his last start despite allowing 7 runs. (I was leading 10-0 and finally won 10-7!). Too bad I don't see any milestone cut scene.

PS: I don't see any cut scene too when I hit bomb #100 with Quentin.

Question: Has anyone conducted a fantasy draft then played a short (29 game) offline season? I'm thinking about trying this as of change of pace. I don't have time to play a full season and I don't like to sim games.

I'm wondering how the CPU would handle line-ups, pitching rotations, and off season moves for CPU controlled teams. What roster would you use and would you turn budgets off? Any feedback would be great!!

I didn't have to trade anything for King Felix. He entered FA the 4th offseason, but teams were struggling with budgets so all players signed for considerably less. Hanley Ramirez got 6 million, Yavano Gallardo got 1 yr-4.5 million, and I signed Felix to 4 yrs, 14.0 million-3.5 million a year.

I can't start a new season or franchise, anyone know what the problem is? I click start new franchise pick my team and whenever i try and hit save it says it was created by another user and only over writing that file is allowed. Then Error, cannot find original save file...wth, this is a NEW franchise, i didn't use another save file. I'm using the OS rosters. This is only happening since the recent title update.

At 36-8 in my Boston Red Sox franchise, lost my last two games. Have only lost one game at home so far.

Has anyone else got to the fourth offseason? I simmed to it and I saw the other 29 teams were reaching the limits of their budgets. 3 offseasons there was plenty of money, but after I got to the 4th teams were very selective about bidding on type A free agents.I want to know if I'm the only one seeing this.BTW, I have training manual and unchecked for all teams and 2nd profile all auto but training.

Going to start a New Franchise w/ My Cubs.. Trying to play most of the games, if not all.

Off to a 2-5 start with the Mets. My pitching has been horrendus with an ERA close to 7. I use Analog on HOF and use Timing on All-Star for hitting.
