How about Brandon Morrow from the Blue jays, one of the best strikeout pitchers in baseball, it would take 2 or 3 B's. Besides that are there any guys your looking at

This. Being from Montreal, we don't get a lot of MLB coverage. A Jays game here and there, but this city is all about hockey, 365-days a year. Then CFL, MLS...and if you have time to fill in the 10h news, then you might get some MLB highlights. Sad, I know...

Plus, it's obvious now that I overvalued Morse based on my lack of knowledge about the game...since all I had to try to judge his value are his ratings (through the roof in the hitting category) and the one line of stats the game shows (last season, when he hit .300 and 30+ HR), I was under the impression that he was a far superior player than he might be in real life. The feedbacks I got here rightfully adjusted my perception of his skills (and Trout, who I thought was a fine prospect with a very good skillset, but didn't know he was in the same category, or even above, Harper).

So don't get offended by me asking...this thread is all about sharing knowledge (at least, that's how I'm using it). Believe me, if this was a hockey game, I would be on the other side of the fence, giving inputs on how good/bad an offer is... ;o)

I've got a little list for you.

Question: Are you implying you want to get this player by trading Bourne?

If so, we're talking prospects. Unless Bourne has years left on his contract, but even then... .208 isn't gonna get you much in return.

You want someone to play LF/3B/SS now? Or in the future? I'm trying to figure out if you wanna make a splash for RIGHT now or down the road.

I'm looking for somebody that's ready to go pretty much for next season. Somebody preferably young. If I can snag a 3B to take over chippers role I can keep Prado in Left. If I can get a LF I can move Prado to third. Pastronicky is struggling so bringing in a SS could fix that problem. Keep in mind I picked up Rasmus at the begging of the season and he's hot right now. Also Prado is on the DL. I would like to get somebody with good speed and can get on base. Because I'm loosing a lot of speed with bourn

I dont want to trade bourn because he has a lot of speed, but if he can't get on base what good does that do me?

You can't realistically trade Bourne unless he has years left. Does he? Or...how much service time does he have?

Why would any team want to place a struggling hitter in their batting order right now if they hope to contend? Unless he's renewable next year.

He's on his last year of his contract. Not sure of service time.

Ok, so what can I do here to get somebody that I'm wanting?

Bourn is on the trade block, and if it helps Detroit and the athletics are interested in him?

Your best bet is too keep Bourn and trade some of those pleather of prospects you have and get a solid prospect that fills what your looking for. What position are you looking for most?

It's not realistic to trade him if he's a rental that's only batting .208.

What do you think about bringing Nate McLouth or Jordan Schafer back?

                  Otherwise:

                  Josh Willingham
                  Ryan Theriot
                  Chone Figgins
                  Daniel Murphy
                  Andres Torres
                  Jason Bay
                  Alex Rios
                  Brandon Inge
                  Scott Hairston
                  Mark DeRosa
                  Willie Bloomquist

These are basically just players I'm thinking that could fill your void right now. Long term is a different list all together...though I think Rios has a lot of upside if you can sign him cheap.

Is this what you're looking for or do you really want to make waves and sign a young, Franchise type player?

For good veterans, David wright may be available in the offseason; Ryan Zimmerman too (though I doubt realistically you could nab him).

                      This.

If you want to unload prospects, the talent pool deepens and my list changes.

                        You've got to be joking.

Are you looking for someone to fill the void and hit better than Bourne for 50 or so games or are you looking to make a long term splash? I already said that these guys are stop gaps.

How can I make this question any clearer?

If DET is looking to deal, create a "blow em' away" away type package around Austin Jackson.

Try an A to two B's to start with.
