Josh I enjoy picking your brain from time to time because you give me some really in depth feedback whenever I do. That being said, here’s another question for you lol.
I’ve read the OP and I understand why you use user control at 6. My question though is what would the difference be if instead you kept user control at default and user consistency at 6? I always had the assumption that consistency was the more subtle change opposed to changing control. Will the user pitcher miss his spots a bit more badly with control at 6 and consistency at 5? I’ve noticed with control at 5 and consistency at 6 even on HOF I can almost paint the corners a bit too easily.
Thanks in advance.

Consistency just mutes well-off target pitches, but it doesn't do much to quell the biggest issue, there's too much allowable variance with control at default. So, what happens is that if aim a pitch on the corner, it can be far enough outside the zone to induce a swing or drift back to the middle. What happens with control at 6 is that it results in more borderline pitches; the CPU is better at taking them, which depending on the umpire can result in called balls or strikes. If I run at default, I can slice apart CPU hitters; user control at 6 makes it much more challenging because it FORCES you to throw pitches outside to induce swings (vs aiming at the corner and letting the pitch drift take care of it - which is driven heavily by the dice roll).
Thanks for that response! That makes sense. I was thinking control would absolutely pinpoint pitches much more than raising consistency would.

Now a days in baseball pitchers are barely aiming in the strike zone. It’s about speed and movement. The only time I’ll actual aim in the strike zone is if I’m behind 3-?. I get a lot of batters chasing.Comment

I think if you went high enough on the control slider that it would do exactly what you were concerned about. The bump to 6 doesn't quite push it to that extreme.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

I have not noticed issues but I also don’t get all crazy about it like many folks here do.

I don’t play that mode but I THINK there is something with how it handles difficulty levels...you might want to read up on that. I’m pretty sure bcruise is pretty knowledgeable on that topic.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Great set as always Josh. Everything been great since I started using these sliders. But literally the only thing I’ve noticed is the lack of errors in my franchise. Basically I’m 48 games in and everyone as well as teams as a whole have like a .985 fielding percentage or better. Then again I just now looked up the league average by year and now it seems accurate. Maybe I’m trippin lol and didn’t have as much faith in teams ability to not make a lot of errors just seemed high lol

What I will say is this....my biggest thing is "are the ratings reflected?". Right now, 100% YES they are. You can very clearly see the difference between an elite fielder and a good one, average to poor guys are markedly worse. It really plays out in a believable fashion. THAT is what matters to me the most.
Sometimes a fielder bobbles a ball or makes a bad throw but they still get the out. The "almost error" plays are just as important as the actual errors.
The worst fielder in the league might make 20-25 errors on the season (or once every 8 games or so). For reference, Segura lead the NL in 2019 with 20 (Tim Anderson had 26 to lead the AL).
So if you've played 50 games...that worst fielders in the league would only have 6 errors or so....
That's a pretty tiny number that underscores just how incredibly good major leaguers are at fielding the ball.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Ive noticed with errors that how your set up with feilding comes into play. Using button accuracy created more errors due to ratings. If your using the meter on throws you wont see many because that is user controlled.
