The thing is, the mod that closed your thread, Crazy Cougar, has no idea if the devs know about this and are fixing it. I'm pretty sure he dislikes OS from other comments he's left, so my opinion is don't take his word on anything.

I will probably reach out to kcxiv also & let him know. Or he'll come here see the sticky & make it known to Ron over @ 2K

I honestly believe you got to be willing to give a little here unless you want 3 hour games so you can have realistic pitch counts and more walks.

It's not the pitch counts that typically drag a game on. It's all the other stuff that goes on in between pitches and plays that drags games on, which you can easily skip through in video games.

A pitching change in baseball is a 3-4 minute affair. It's 10 seconds in a video game. There's about 2-3 minutes between every 1/2 inning (17x2=34 minutes), this again takes just a few seconds in a game. Mound visits, manager arguments, pitchers walking around the mound to "collect" themselves, pich hitters, pinch runners, players stepping out of the box in between each pitch to adjust their gear and take practice swings, players throwing the ball around the horn, hitters litterally walking to first when the get walked, etc. is the stuff that makes games so long. I can easily finish a full game with realistic pitch counts (110-150) in 2K8 in under an hour and probably closer to 45 minutes.

Now if you still want to play a game in that time and enjoy all of th cut scenes and extras, then yeah something has to give and it has to be the pitch count or else that 45 minutes in now an hour or more.

Anyway...good job guys...hopefully the result is a quick fix and a community of happy and thankfull baseball playing fools.

This is some great work guys. It's truly awesome to see what a group of dedicated gamers can do when they really see potential in a game. 2K and VC should be glad that gamers care enough about 2K9 to actually try and fix the game instead of saying "ah, the hell with it" and just giving up. It means people can see the talent involved and the good game buried under the junk that everyone is being annoyed by right now.

Great find Joe. I'm honestly extremely disappointed that VC would release the game with glaring bugs like this. I understand they have a deadline to meet, but come on now! This is just f**king stupid that they would have the audacity to release a game with literal HOLES and then expect us to be patient while they patch it. *** ****, DON'T RELEASE THE FRIGGIN GAME!!! I don't give a toot if you have to compete with The Show, FIX THE DAMN GAME BEFORE RELEASING IT!!! We're not PAWNS, we're CUSTOMERS!!! Stop trying to compete with The Show and fix your OWN DAMN GAME!!!!

Thanks guys, but a lot of the credit should go to syf. He tried an edit fix & saw the Batter Breakdown had all the hitter's with a D Walk Breakdown. I just followed-up because I was @ home today.

Good find. 2K should look at this and fix it asap. I'm so disappointed and frustrated with 2K and this game so far. Is this what exclusive rights to the MLB gets you?? Ugghhhh!! As a consumer and fan I'm not too happy right now.

If you ask me the reason people are so angry over this game is because this game fells so dam good. The pitching and the batting feel great is New vs the shows very old and stale feel. Granted the show is tried and true and obviously working but it is old bland and stale. This angers people because you can so easily see how unbelievably good this thing can be.

We had this discussion yrs ago when MVP came out. One of the reasons MVP got such great reviews even in its 1st and second very flawed versions was it was so dam fresh and good feeling.

Anyway same thing here. If VC can fix what actually might be a very easy fix with in house tools to a database file.

This game approaches awesome in its first release.

Really need to have this fixed. Like, we need to hear from someone at 2k by Monday.

Unfortunately this makes me wonder if any of the ratings actually work.

Either way it's probably minimum of 6 weeks before it's patched unless they can update it through living rosters somehow. But, I know a lot of people haven't bought yet and are waiting to see about this issue.

I can live with everything else.

I'm not buying the game until I hear official word from 2k that they can and WILL patch this issue. You shouldn't have to jump through a bunch of hoops and adjust this and that, this way or that way, or wait for planets to align just to get the freakin' CPU to stop swinging away at every pitch close to the plate. It's not baseball.

Maybe another thing that I noticed, as well as the IE inside the game. If you take a look at IE from within the main menu, and you look at individual players, they have aggression ratings based on a count. Almost all of them are pretty high from what I've seen.

It goes from "less aggressive" to "more aggressive" but across the board they're tending towards more. Maybe that is something that actually could be messed with in the rosters.

I brought this up yesterday. I like the IE stuff and what is there outside the actual in-game IE looks pretty cool. No here's to hoping that they fix this in a fashion that makes all of the IE stuff work and the game work correctly as intended. Frankly I think this is all pretty tied into the lack of editing in this game(and clearly the missing sliders. What if we could edit the IE stuff directly (assuming its not completely broken.) With last years sliders and some more editing available I have a feeling that this issue would be fixed long ago.

Excellent job guys. I forgot for a while why I come to this site. Best collection of minds I've seen on a forum. I never thought I'd be able to describe the nuts and bolts of a sports video game as thought-provoking.
