Yeah...it just baffled me how Arod, or his agent, opted out when he did...Kind of pissed me off thinking how greedy a person can be..But on the field id take Arod on my team any day.

I think this makes Boras look pretty damn good to his clients, who are the ones employing him. Look at the situation.

A-Rod opted out, and it appeared nobody was going to pay the $250+ million that he was looking for. They stupidly alienated their richest suitor, the Yankees. To me, it seems clear Boras would create the best chance for A-Rod to get his money by stepping aside. The most important thing for Boras is getting the most money for his clients. He's been willing to take the public arrows if it means getting his client more money.

I think A-Rod and Boras agreed to have Boras "step aside" out of the negotiations so A-Rod could get his dough from the Yanks.

Look at the money A-Rod got. $270 million dollars guaranteed. Richest contract in the history of sports. And which other team was in the ballpark of this dollar amount? I'd think nobody. I'd say Boras did a great job follow his obvious screw up with the opt out announcement.

Couldn't care less. I just find the circus to be good theater. It's a shame the Arod fiasco is ending before Thanksgiving, now what is there on the hot stove to really light up the back pages?

                Apparently it's a 275 mil deal over 10 years.

So I guess the Yanks budged slightly there as I believe someone reported that it was going to be 232.

OH NO! The best everyday player in baseball might come to my team! Oh woe are we.

Anyways, I think Boras and A-rod win this deal.

Am I the only one who finds it funny that this is the second time that Boras has done something with A-rod at the same time as another major news story?

So A-Rod agrees, as a player past 30 years of age, to a contract that is the largest in baseball history and he is crawling back?

I would crawl so ****ing bad for 275 million.

Arod's contracts will have paid him enough to build a brand new stadium by the time retires.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Warren Buffett advised Alex Rodriguez to approach the New York Yankees and go around agent Scott Boras, The Wall Street Journal reported Saturday.
The newspaper cited a person familiar with the matter, whom it did not identify.
"A-Rod really loves being a Yankee," Buffett was quoted as saying. He wouldn't comment on the substance of any discussions with the player.
The two became friends several years ago.
Rodriguez, on Boras' advise, opted out of the final three seasons of his record $252 million, 10-year contract on Oct. 28. The Yankees had said many times that if he opted out, they wouldn't negotiate because they would lose $21.3 million from Texas for the final three seasons that was agreed to at the time of the 2004 trade, money to offset the $72 million New York owed from 2008-10.
Upset with developments after he opted out, Rodriguez contacted Buffett, and the investor told him to approach the Yankees without his agent, the Journal said.
After speaking with the investor, Rodriguez contacted a managing director at Goldman Sachs that he knew, John Mallory, who then got in touch with Gerald Cardinale, a Goldman Sachs managing director who has worked with the Yankees and their YES Network.
With the assistance of the two Goldman executives, Rodriguez and the Yankees negotiated a $275 million, 10-year contract that is in the process of being finalized.
