Re: MLB Off-Topic
If we could have Montreal, Nashville and Vegas as 3 contenders for teams and As,Rays and expansion as 3 options for tbide cities, I could see 1 relocation and 2 expansion moves happening.
Expansion is probably more preferred. I'd imagine MLB could get over 2B from expansion fees alone.Comment

How about no more expansion until you figure out your supposed labor issues.
Also the last thing this sport needs is universal DH, I mean expanded playoffs, I mean more garbage teams to be bad and dilute the talent pool.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Nashville would be a good option though. I don't know how much things have changed with Grizzlies or Titans popularity over the past 15-20 years, but the Preds have a big following which are called one of the best fans in hockey, and their MLS team is just getting underway, so soccer will be growing rapidly there as well.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Not the news I was expecting, but the 2021 season schedule has been announced already.
April 1st seems to be the date the season kicks off.
Interestingly enough, 2021 has teams playing their divisional counterparts (East vs East, Central vs Central, West vs West). So 2020 and 2021 will see the same interleague matches.
Jays with a cool promotional giveaway schedule. A Jays themed Spiderman bobblehead, Jays Friends(TV show) tshirt, a Vlad Sr/Jr bobble head and more. I want those, but sadly there will be lineups for them and put on ebay for $100.Last edited by Majingir; 07-09-2020, 02:05 PM.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
I know stadium proposals have as much to do with location as anything else to be built the way that they are, but among seeing all of the different A's stadium proposals, I have no idea why they can't/didn't keep their first Cisco Field designs (not the second set).
It went from this (sweet):
Spoiler
To this (meh):
Spoiler
These were going to be in Fremont though (again, location-based). Once they settled on a location in Oakland, it became this (I won't lie, while this isn't bad, I feel we'll just be missing out on "what could have been" with the other design):
Spoiler
If they went to Nashville, it obviously would be something else that is not any of these three.
The real question though would be how would division realignment work out? The AL West would hardly be a West anymore since two Texas teams are already in it, so the A's would probably go in the AL Central and kick the Royals to the AL West, heh.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

As for division alignment, I'd imagine Royals go to the west, unless we have 6 in the central and 4 in the west.
Although this is another reason why I'm in favour of a 1 league, 4 division format. There's only 7-8 true west teams.Comment

Just to contradict your other statement, the NFL kind of has a weird thing going with their realignment despite having the NSEW format. The Dallas Cowboys are in the NFC East, the Kansas City Chiefs are in the AFC West (see, it didn't fix anything for the NFL heh), and somehow the Indianapolis Colts—a team further north than the AFC North Cincinnati Bengals—are in the AFC South.
At least where the Rams are makes more sense with their own respective division now, heh.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
^Everything has changed for their stadium plans due to the pandemic. Now that Oakland basically has to sell the remaining half of the Coliseum to the A’s (for financial reasons), the most likely option they are going to go with is build on the current site and then develop that area out.
(That was previously their priority but since the city owned half the Colisseum, they could never come to terms).
Because of where they are at financially, building on a new site is somewhat more unrealistic.Comment

But MLB changing things up would've been better. 4 divisions could be:
West:
Dodgers
Angels
Giants
Padres
Dbacks
Mariners
As
Rockies
South:
Rays
Marlins
Braves
Rangers
Astros
Royals
Cards
North:
Jays
Indians
Tigers
Twins
Brewers
Sox
Cubs
Reds
East:
Yankees
Mets
Red Sox
Phillies
Pirates
Os
