one, KoFukome seems to be a better hitter overall and is much better suited to the top half of the lineup...he has a better approach than ARam and will be more effective in driving in runs and getting on base...when he gets on, ARam is still there to drive in the runs

two, why not break up the two righties?

three, ARam has shown evidence of decline, especially, it seems, mentally...putting him in the 5 hole, where he will be counted on a little less, where consistency will be less necessary, and where power can be more readily sought than a high average, might be a good fit...I think he would still drive in a ton of runs...and he wouldn't be able to slow KosukFuku on the paths.

my post was less about ARam's deficiencies or that he is a bad clean-up guy than it was about how I see KFuk as a better clean-up guy right now...why not put the better hitter there?

Runner on 2nd, tie game, 2 outs, bottom 9...who would you rather have up...ARam or KFuk?

      Based on one week... Fukodome

Based on his whole career... Ramirez without question. Lets see if Fukodome can sustain this for more than a week or two before we crown him "King of Wrigley."

        dude...

no one is saying anything about "king wrigley".

Again...seriously, again...I am saying that Fukudome's approach at the plate is better than Ramirez's. If my team must have a base hit or a base runner, I would rather have Kosuke at the plate.

ARam is by all accounts a better power hitter, but I am not even trying to say that one is better than the other overall...I was saying that I think it would do the lineup some good to separate lee and ARam with KFuku. Yes, ARam is a good hitter, but his tendency to strike out and to be a bit over-aggressive at the plate can kill rallies and RISP situations. KosFuku is more likely to wait for a good pitch or to walk. In either scenario, ARam still gets the chance to drive in runs, and as a cubs fan i believe this is good---I don't necessarily want to trade him, I just want to move him to the 5 hole.

Aramis actually strikes out very little for a power hitter. Its his job to drive in runs and thats what you need in the four hole. You should have your best overall hitter (which is Lee) in the three whole and your top run producer (which is ARam) in the four hole. I think Lou has the lineup perfect imo.

Rich Hill has ZERO f***ing mental toughness.

Nice job a**hole. Whenever the Cubs need a big game from this guy, he falters.

Anyone else notice he can never hold a lead??
