Man...Fukudome has to be the most disciplined hitter I've seen in a while. He gets so deep into counts and just tries to slap that ball the other way...Amazing

Dude, I need to calm down. I don't know about you, but I am getting a funny feeling "down there" with this team.

Trust me, I'm the same way with this team...my girlfriend knows that I'll be in a bad mood if we lose and doesnt bother me lol. I live and die with this team.

              Just to reiterate your post...

                Re: 2008 Chicago Cubs

We do seem to have a good bit of depth, which is great. If Cedeno and Fontenot can continue to provide quality time in the field and at the plate, which they can, that will be awesome. DeRosa is great.

We may have too much of a good thing, though...it will be tough to work PT in for Johnson, Pie, Soriano, DeRosa, Theriot, Fontenot, Cedeno with only 2 OF spots and 2 IF spots. especially when Soriano comes back.

I also hope it is only a coincidence that we are playing so well with Soriano out (pun intended) of the lineup.

Either way, this is some good baseball. Our lineup is full of "any day" guys...on any day each of them is capable of going off and catalyzing the team.

I hope we stomp the Cards. Seriously. Demolish. This possible 2-game sweep of the Mets could be really cool, too.
                Australian Rules Football...just sayin'

                    This offense is on fire.

I have never seen the Cubs look like this at the plate. Just clutch hit after clutch hit.

This team is showing signs (not to get ahead of myself) of being an elite team.

Every day somebody else is steppin up and pickin up the slack.

I told my roommate at the beginning of the year that Cedeno was gonna steal a starting spot from someone...hard to argue that now.

This team in just running on an extra cylinder right now, I doubt they even know how well they are playing. Th starting pitching, the Pen, the clutch hits....

This is like the Bizarro Cubs...lol, not being negative, they just never play this well early. 1985 was like this, then at the allstar break they were decimated by injuries. We have vets, we have youth, we have team chemistry, just a bunch a good guys that love playing together. you can tell on the bench that they are joking all the time with each other, and that's awesome to see.

Howry, Wood and Marmol are just as filthy as could be, Lilly is starting to turn the proverbial corner, Marquis threw a gem the other day...Dempster is the biggest suprise of the year by far for me. Zambrano is 3-1 with a crazy *** WHIP, and has only walked 5 guys the WHOLE year, plus a 3 ERA.

It's time to plan the Cubs OS outing at Wrigley!!

                        That is all.........

Ryne Sandberg, Busch Stadium, first base....breaks his ankle simple stepping on the base. Cubs get swept, season over. From first to the bottom.

Jistic, I knew you would remember that year. they were playing awesome ball, and it just seemed like within a week we lost like four everyday starters, and a couple of pitchers. I am sure thats not what happened, but boy it sure seems like that.

                              hells yeah!!!!!!!

boy, do we have a log jam in the MIF and LF and CF.

                              Soriano, take your time

Marmol...dude...comes in and just decimates Beltran and Delgado...KFuk was on base all day, ARam getting started...this is exciting, I hope I can make it through the summer.

There are other good teams...Philadelphia's lineup is frightening, Arizona seems to be out of their minds, and the Braves will likely factor in...other than that, we seem to be head and shoulders above the rest of the NL, despite StL's start and the Brewer threat.

I for one am not crowning them champions right now, but you can't overlook the fact that this team is playing really good baseball. They're doing all the things that very good teams do, which is very unusual for Chicago. I know its very early in the season and they are going to go through their ups and downs but this is a great start to the season.
