Henry Rodriguez has looked lost in two cups of coffee and it's not like he set the world on fire at Louisville last year.

As for Derrick Robinson, I would be on board with that if he hadn't slumped so hard the final two months, making me wonder if he could keep up the production he had the first part of the season.

I think Derrick Robinson will be on the bench next season. Schumaker is replacing Paul, while Hamilton replaces Izturis.

Where is Hamilton in that platoon? He's going to be our starting CF next year, no?

It's November, the Winter Meetings haven't even happened yet, and the Hot Stove is just getting warmed up. Walt has plenty of work to do. I'm not worried about a Heisey-Schumaker platoon in CF...yet.

By the way, there are worse organizations than the Cards from which to grab former players. If he was signing former Padres or Mariners players on a regular basis I'd think he lost his mind.

                  A hack?
Didnt realize a hack was someone with a .285 career average???
                  You are downright ridiculous sometimes.
Never seen someone so pissy and moany about signing a bench player.
We talking about a bench player!

If the players perform, so what? I'm sure he knows who's out there. Was signing/trading for Rolen, Ludwick, Renteria, Edmonds, Cairo, and Izturis over the years really that bad? Schumaker is just the latest.

Are you really just more hung up on the money being spent to fill the utility role Schumaker is expected to fill?

The same Nate McClouth that was almost out of baseball 3 yrs ago and has batted .215 since 2010?!
And he is only one year younger than the "old washed up hack" Schumaker. You really should do stand up cause ur killing me.

never seen someone so excited over a 34 year old washed up utility player that does not play great defense at any particular position.

Where did I say I was excited about signing skip?
I said it will improve their bench, nothing more.
