Yeah unfortunately they look like thye have some good young prospects thats going to turn into solid big leaguers, hopefully they all turn too bust, lol.

They are still the North Side Losers, so why they may start winning some games, they wont win the World Series, or atleast I hope not

They are going to need some veteran leadership that knows how to win even with all that talent. Cubs typically have to over pay 2nd tier talent to get them to play for them, so I would be surprised if they were able to land a super star in FA. I suppose John Lester having ties to Theo with Boston might give them a edge if he had a good relationship with him. They do have the money to offer being a big market, but most big name players dont want to be in Chicago, and especially Wrigley Field, so they will definitely have to open their wallets extra to intice big time players.

As funny as this sounds now, both the Cubs and the Marlins are going to be problems for the rest of the NL. The Cubs would be wise to trade that headcase Castro before his attitude rubs off on the young guys coming up.

Agreed but the Marlins won't have Stanton for too much longer because they won't be able to afford him. Or if they do, they will pull a Votto contract and handicap the rest of the team. That's my hope anyway. I live in South Florida and this region doesn't deserve a good baseball team. Fans are horrible and extremely fickle/bandwagonish. Doesn't help that after both World Series they won the owners decided to rebuild and had fire sales. Hard to keep people interested if you don't keep a core group together, especially in South Florida where there are actually other things to do.

With that said, very nice ballpark they have.

With Addison Russell, I think they will eventually try to move Castro. Castro can hit but is the worst defensive ss in all of baseball, and at ss defense needs to be the top priority.

Im not so sure Baez dont have some Starlin Castro in him attitude wise. I have already seen him not hustle, and Soler has had some attitude issues in the past, namely with temper.

Marlins do have some nice young talent as well, but you never know abotu that owner of that team, on what he will do. Probably the worst owner in all of sports.

It will be interesting to see what they do with Stanton, or even of he will want to stay there and play for that owner.

Yeah cant really blame fans for not showing up to the Marlin games with that idiot of a owner.

Sadly the Rays are a good team typically and a team that would be easy to root for with how they go about their business, its a shame they dont get more fan support. Rays ownership would benefit from moving that team elsewhere to where they would be appreciated.

I want the Reds to trade Cueto and Chapman to the Fish for Stanton. At least have those guys be pieces involved. Then they can re-sign Latos. Stanton is going to command a big contract though. I don't know. I really wish they could pull something like that off. Stanton would hit 50 HR's a season playing half his games at GABP.

Stanton would be like Greg Vaughn he'd hit 50 home runs here his only year then leave. With the awful contracts Jocketty has made they would have 0 hope of signing him.

Also I highly doubt Cueto + Chapman would be enough for Stanton. They turned down Correa + Springer for Stanton. Considering Cueto has only a year left on a deal and can't stay healthy + Chapman (while probably helping attendance) hasn't been the dominant closer most thought he'd be.

Well, Jocketty was able to get out of one of his bad contracts, trading Broxton to the Brewers for two PTBNL.

Wish this would've been done back in July, but the rumor is that Bob C. wouldn't allow any trades that could be perceived as selling...guess the last month has changed his mind.

And Jocketty said the deal doesn't involve cash, so Broxton is completely off the books for 2015, so that's $10 million saved ($9 million salary plus $1 million to buyout 2016).

Yeah, it's time to start unloading through waivers. This season is done IMO. Let the kids play.

But... I'll take the spoiler's role. Take that, Pittsburgh!

Yeah, thats the way I feel too. I know were technically not out of it, but I dont see Votto being back and Homer isnt coming back and with what we have on the roster this team has no chance. They havent hit all year, and the bullpen has been bad all year, so its not like all of a sudden something going to click for them. Unfortunately the season is over for us, so while I do expect 100% effort this last month, we need to see what some of these young guys can do. I think it would be rather dumb for them to let Votto come back, just let him get fully healthy, and imo BP should just be kept out cause he isnt 100% and no need for him to take a chance on doing more damage to him.

I say let the young kids play and lets get everyone healthy for next year. This winter they need to be aggressive in bettering the team, and go into next season with a all in mentality and hopefully we can stay healthy. Its obvious and has been obvious these past few years we need more offense, and if they dont fix that, then we wont be getting any farther than what we did with Dusty as manager.

A change was needed last year with the manager and hitting coach, but that wasnt all that was needed if your goal is to win a World Series. I felt Dusty did the best he could with what Walt gave him to work with, but never felt Dusty was a good enough manager to win it all.

Price has definitely made some mistakes as manager, and I think he will learn from it and be better for it, or I hope, lol. I do know you cant have a revolving door at the manager position, and with all the injuries its hard to give him a fair shake based on this year. I do think Steve Smith needs fired though, as he did a embarrassing job as the 3rd base coach. Personally I wouldnt be upset if ownership let Walt walk, as Im not sure Walt has given his managers the best roster to work with over these past few seasons. I had always thought highly of Walt, but Im starting to think he is out of touch with the game in his later years.

Most of those guys are/were already on the 40-man roster, including Yorman. Why DFA somebody to bring up someone else at this point? I don't have a problem with who they called up. You're right though. Their farm system isn't stellar.

Yeah our farm is pathetic for the most part until, only real talent we have is at the lower levels, and not a lot at that. Basically all of our talent is at A ball and now some are at AA. Winker might be the only position player that ever turns out to be anything special, I do like Waldrop though. We have some young pitching that could be promising, but not much in way of position players.

I agree Dennick could have been called up earlier, not sure why other teams arent afraid to move guys and DFA guys yet the Reds Walt will hang onto bums.

Bourgeouis was named MVP for the Bats, but I do think Felix Perez kind of got shafted, not sure what more Felix has to do to get a call up, if i was him I would be ready to move on to a different club, he has played well over the last 2 or 3 seasons in Louisville.

I watch a lot of our minor league game cause I have MILB TV along with MLBTV and imo Felix and Gotay were just as valuable as Bourgeouis was.

They could DFA Villarreal and no one would want him, that would free up another spot on the 40. Heck they could DFA Hoover and they might be stuck with him anyway, lol. Parra being LH'ed someone would take another chance if he was removed from 40, but really he wouldnt be much of a loss if he did get picked up,lol. I DFA the Big dufus Ondrusek in a heart beat if it was me, I hate that guy. Not been many over the years that have put on Reds uniform that I have despised, but the Big Dufus is one of them, I hat him like I hate Eric Milton, lol

I think they have our farm rank about middle of the pack, but personally I think thats generous. I watch a lot of MILB games and I dont see much to be excited about for our future.
