It’s a triple double machine. Build can be fun. But the other day I was using my 78 ovr 7’3 two way rebounder and a few 6’11 guys were guarding me. Now I can’t score at all with this build ( why I don’t use him unless we have a lot of scorers ) but those PFs were BBQ chicken ! May as well been point guards on me. Gave me hem 30+ every time. Even defensive build.

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
70 3ball on a pure slasher would be devastating to the games balance because i guarantee that dudes who master their release will shoot over 50% from 3.
Here are two "green" threes I got last night using my shot creating post scorer who has no hot zones and a 63 three point rating. I was able to get these because I was on fire and I was receiving passes from a gold dimer who had the floor general badge unlocked.
The game gives people the tools to turn non-shooting archetypes into viable outside shooting threats, it's just that not many people take the time to get the three point hot zones on those builds, and most people don't have a 90+ rated primary playmaker archetype in their lineup, since primary sharpshooters, primary shot creators, and primary slashers are -- on their own -- much more dangerous offensively.Attached FilesLast edited by jyoung; 01-22-2018, 07:39 PM.Comment

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
I thought my 6’8 230 Sf Sharpshooting Shot Creator would be better. But i have a high mid range 93 and don’t make anything. I don’t know what it is. And this game is just too much of s grind and not fun.

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
When you make a new player, the grind does suck, but what I would do is just get the most important badges to silver as quickly as possible. Once things are silver, it makes things more on par with where you might expect.
Now that I've had the game for a few months, this is what I did on my most recent and would do if I make another (Which ain't happening!):
1. Pick a horrible team, sim first season so you can limit the number of stupid cutscenes you have to put up with
2. In second season, just play enough games where you become a 30+ minute starter. Here, I do play full 12 minute quarters, but you won't be playing anywhere close to that for some time. Make it a point to get an A+ in every game so your minutes get bumped up. In between games, I make sure to hit the practice gym and do 4 drills (You can get an extra talking to that juice guy right outside after you've done one drill)
3. Once I get my minutes up and become a full time starter, I sim to playoffs. In the playoffs, I just do 5 minute quarters and sim out when the second half starts if you have a 10+ point lead. In between these playoff games I do my round of drills. You'll play a minimum of 16 playoff games, so that's 64 drills you get to do, and the games go by very quickly (You play about 7 minutes before half)
4. Get through the playoffs, and then in next season, you should be a full time starter right away. In that first game of the next season, just go completely ham. I just make sure my guy takes and makes all the easy buckets (Pretty much just only dunk the ball). Take at least 30 shots and shoot 75%+. Then when you're done, sim to the playoffs, enter/exit a game, and your player should have all the hot zones. I have no idea if hot zones do anything, people have said they don't, but I get mine because you never know.
But if you do at least this, you'll get your badges and hot zones in the least painful way possible (At least to me) I couldn't stand playing career games anymore so I just used drills to get most of my XP.
Since you have a sharpshooting shot creator, I would probably make it a point to max out difficult shots/tireless scorer by doing Read the Screen drill, that will get you badges VERY quickly. If you need help maxing out the XP from that drill (You can get 2000+ XP for each badge on a single drill) let me know. After that I'd probably target limitless range and then dead eye. You will get catch and shoot and corner specialist pretty easily from doing games. Very important to know which badges to hunt for in games and which badges to go for in drills.Last edited by ph33; 01-23-2018, 12:51 PM.Comment

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
Has anyone made a 3pt-shooting capable PF? If so, what combo would you suggest? I grinded 220,000 VC and am ready to make a new guy. Thinking of going 3pt/defense PF ala Rasheed Wallace. What you think?Comment

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
I’ve heard really good things about the Sharphooting Defenders or in your case Sharpshooting Rim Protectors. You get defending badges gold, I believe and shooting ones silver. Add that in with a possible playmaking secondary or primary build dishing you the rock, that’s silver or gold dimer. It’s a damn good build.
Shoot. I think I just talked myself into the build. [emoji28]

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
Honestly, I've got friends that make these half bigs, rebounding first playmaking second, rebound first, sharp second, defender first, rebounding second or any other variation and IMO if you're not pure it hurts. Out of them all tho, the rebounder first/sharp is the one that makes the most sense.
On offense he can pick and pop or roll and he can grab boards on defense. A lot of times when bigs can't shoot they hang in the paint all game.Comment

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
I really like the player on offense. Obviously, it's a lights out shooter because the badges can get to gold (Limitless only silver though) and somehow, it gets posterizer. I don't go around trying to put posters on people with this softie, but it can be helpful when they try to close out and you drive past them for an easy dunk or kick out. It's a pick and slip master because opposing bigs are so concerned with staying out with you on the perimeter that you can just dart back to the rim completely uncontested if they're grabbing you.
On the defensive side, it's a quick and mobile player. Long wingspan will let you block shots a lot. With all that said, the one thing that pisses me off about this player is how many "Good shot contests" I see go in anyways. We all get that message sometimes only to see the ball go in, but it seems like with this player, the game is taunting you lol. Feels like it happens multiple times in a quarter with this player. I get my hands up and it doesn't matter. It seems like the best contest is just to jump, but lately I've been working on just trying to stay down so I don't look like a head-less pogo stick jumper.
If I could do it again ... I would probably have done rebounding sharpshooter, mostly because I would trade silver rim protector for silver break starter/rebounder.Comment

My second position is that build and I rather have your build for the speed

Debuted my reb / sharp PF in team pro am and my squad loves him, fits in like a glove. Dude can do it all except guard athletic finishers as previously stated. Not sure why I gave up on him but he’s fun as hell and my favorite big by far.#1 Laker fan

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
This is finally the year I'm convinced I'm going crazy. Each one of my builds has their own deficiencies. However, none of them excel at what they're SUPPOSED to do when I ask them to. My pure slasher Chronicles are earlier ITT so I'm off trying to get HOF posterizer ATM. Was trying to run my point forward but being the wing in walk on with randoms was killing me because I refuse to cut my mic on and tell them I wanna run point. Been trying to score when I can, but they give you the ball in such awkward spots that for me to back it out and size up is often not an option because of time, and I'm not very confident driving with him but when I do I'm looking to kick but no one is open.
Said screw it, got my playmaking slasher. Ran point with a full squad for once. First game, 16-0-14 with minimal TOs. Center was trusting me to run the break by direct passing me and letting me make the outlet. Got a couple posters on a real C which made me happy, nasty ones too got the replays saved.
Second game.. not so much. Lol shooters weren't hitting anymore, the paint was crowded, I shot a terrible percentage from the floor.. lol I played good D tho. Got my 10 assists but like 6 TOs. We won but I was so ashamed I left. Lol lol lol
Had quite a bit of garbage rebounds that game, like ball bouncing off the rim and me either cutting in and picking it up and going up immediately, or on defense and getting it up court with break starter.
Edit: this build does have some real potential with HOF one man fast break. If this player got himself to the upper 90s with a 70 mid, difficult shots bronze and boosted could be deadly in the half court set in the right hands. The kicker would be HOF one man with gold posterizer. If this player were a 99 they would get HOF posterizer with all gold playmaking badges.
BUT I AIN'T NEEEEVER GETTING NO 99 LMAOOOOOOLast edited by howardphillips214; 01-25-2018, 05:38 AM.Comment
