What's actually going to happen: I'll be put in as a center, abused in the paint, and froze out of the offense.

    Lol let's go.

Expectation: I’ll make a point forward be at the 3, gain the trust of my team who will eventually allow me to run point over the sharpshooting playmaker then clearly made a 6’ 1” PG just so he could speed boost and always be at point even tho he literally doesn’t know where his pass button is. Then we’ll win and it’ll be fun

Reality: your put at the 4 or 5 against a 7’ 3” Slashing rebounder, your teammates literally never pass to you because they are too busy dribbling 80 times a play to try and cheese out a contested leaner on the baseline. You touch the ball twice a quarter and god forbid you don’t shoot 100% on those 4 touches before halftime because then you’ll get a message saying your a trash bum who needs to pass to the PG who is only scoring because the whole damn team is setting screens for him and he’s chucking limitless range 3s

Why did no one tell me shot creators are so fun to use and why doesn’t 100% of the community use and abuse the stepbacks?

haha, reminds me of the other way where you are matched up against a small and dude is breaking your ankles on the perimeter, and on the other side you're like cmon just lemme get a touch in the post for my dignity... and they never do.

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?

Been with this thread since the beginning! Long time reader, lots of info to get through so I apologize for the long post ahead of time.

I now have 6 characters I play. First thing I'll say is my pures are my favorites. If you wanna be good at something, be the best. You won't regret it.

My day 1 I regret deleting. I made a 6'5 SG DF/BH and got him to an 85 ball handling and got mad and deleted him. My friends all told me about him when I made him, he wasn't going to be a great shooter but as a PG in pro am you need to at least pull the shot. I always was trying to drive and kick. In the beginning it was working but the good teams knew how to defend it. Plus, when I made the character I figured before we could see our attributes that he'd be able to speed boost eventually. When I learned I couldn't, I made my second build.

6'4 SC/DF PG. Now this is my 91. Has all his badges. My safety net, my go to. But lately his pull up game has been off and I SWEAR they've been sneak attacking us on sliders man. They say they haven't touched shooting. I KNOW they have. Plus, even with all my badges, alas, no 86 ball handling. Got to grind to a 95?!?!?! Lol no thanks. NEXT!

I went through a small faze, my buddies have finishing PFs. I just wanted a speed boosting slasher like last year (wasted so much VC boosting my handles lol) even if I only get gold. But I decided maybe a character with HOF posterizer might quench my thirst for bodies. So I toyed with a few builds. 7ft C 294 pure athletic(Shaq was 7'1 but at that height you don't get 90 driving dunk found you only get 89 at Shaqs real weight!). Was so much fun in career. Got him to a 68 and my buddy asked me why I'd make a big like his only 2 inches taller. Tried athletic defender to a 65 6'11 and got dusted my first walk on.

SO I MADE 2 BUILDS lol

Remade my first character. 6'4 DF/BH got gold posterizer and all his other badges but the build still doesn't finish the way I'd hoped. I can get to the lane and draw fouls and the speed boosting is fun but I wish the game didn't finish finishers the way they do, especially when you're small. I wanna be the bully far too often I get bullied.

My next character is my Dirk build. I wanted Prime Dirk so I made him post first envisioning an ungardable dual threat that's a walking mismatch. BOY WAS I WRONG. The post game is atrocious and his 3 with sharp secondary is serviceable but I was unaware I got BRONZE deep range deadeye. It literally does nothing. My 74 3 they can sneeze on me 6 feet away and I'll brick. With my buddies HOF dimer he can light it up, but an average point guard and he's a rebounder at 7ft but no D.

My 6'6 pure slasher is my favorite character of all. He plays great defense he has tremendous speed in transition and he cleans up quite frequently on the boards when both bigs are boxed. His shot is his only weakness. If I get his badges to HOF my friends will never see me on another character.

Last 2 most recent builds are very different from each other.

I made a 7'3 slashing rebounder and a 6'7 pure point forward. With gold dimer he's serviceable at point but I really wanna get that HOF. My rebounder is there for emergency purposes and he's the only character I still have in the 70s.

I have most of my badges on all my characters and run mostly walk on. If you ever need any position on PS4 hit me up. I'll try and reply to any PM. I'm kind of picky who I run with. I like people who will let me work on whatever character I'm on. If I'm a slasher if I don't cut back door every play that doesn't mean I can't swing the ball or drive on the wing. If I'm on my shot creator on point I may just dump the ball for a give and go for my fade on the baseline. If I'm on my Dirk build and I catch it at the 3 but don't have the shot, I'll try and post him to see what happens. If I draw a double team in mid range that's easier to spin away from if you're spacing me. If I'm on my slasher playmaker I may need an iso to catch the center 1 on 1. I'm a very unselfish player but my friends all have their set way to play. In versatile. I think my point forward is my favorite character because he's versatile. But my slasher is definitely the most fun in the right team.

I know it's long but I feel like I've tried a lot of different builds and would be willing to answer any am questions.

I've been stanning for them since day 1!

Well...more like day 30. Because my first player got deleted and I had to re-do it.
Which, by the way, is why WE NEED TO BE ALLOWED TO RESET THINGS. So you know, things like "I would trade in ball handling for better finishing ability" is a possibility.

So it's funny because that's exactly what was happening all last night lol. Well not funny, more sad that this community is so predictable.

Not ready to take him to team pro am yet so I'm just running walk on for now.

Had a couple games where I got to snap some ankles and drive or hit no look passes and when it happens it's so different for me and how I usually play it's fun..

But really there's a lot of doing the little things no one appreciates and letting your team eat... but I can feel it that when I get my badges I'll also be able to take over if I have to.

At 6'10 2 default weight and Max wingspan, this is the single most dominant build I've seen in the right hands. My buddy has a YouTube if you wanna check him out. Look for "Wacker fracker" and that's him. He's got multiple builds, pure sharp, pure glass, and a few others but that guy's been collecting bodies all year. He had HOF posterizer in the first week the game was out and he loves it. If you know your shot and you boost you can hit, too. I've seen him go 5/6 from deep and then go 0/5 the next. Lol

Ran on several characters tonight in park and pro am. Gotta say this new point forward is starting to be my Swiss army knife. I should have made him taller. Even at 6'9 I probably could run the 4 but this 6'7 is very interesting. Only an 84 and only gold dimer but my ball handling is maxed and my passing is an 85 now. Still need 4500vc to hit that 91 passing and I'm short like 7 Grand to get his speed to an 81. I feel like I won't really NEED anything else as far as attributes now my 3 is a 75. It's a good sign when you green your first wing wide open 3. If it's not a corner I was bricking with 71. Which confirms the theory 1s mean nothing. If your attributes aren't a 5 or 0 it's nothing. If you have a 74 3 ball, that **** is a 70. There's no difference unless it unlocks a tier of animations. Same with my passing. At an 80i still got a lot of slow passes and I couldn't throw down court very far. An 85 and I'm throwing the ball baseline to baseline without break starter. I get that badge HOF but I know that's not going to ever happen because I don't get a lot of boards. However, it's great for the inbound. Once my teammate gives me a live ball I'm a threat to hit anyone. My sharp buddy was cherry picking after every miss and my glass center was iconing to me so I could make the right read. The only issue is we can't designate me the main ball handler so I have to run and get the inbound sometimes. My friend has a pure playmaker and we've already run HOF dimer and gold on the same team. TWO players with HOF and I promise we won't miss too many shots man lol.

What’s everyone’s view on defensive builds.

Looking at creating another player and thinking some combo of:

                              (Primary/secondary)
                              Slash/def
                              Def/slash
                              Def/sharp
                              Def/playmaking

I have an undersized slash/defending SF and I love it but I’m wondering if it’s viable at the pro am level w/o being able to stretch the floor. I like the idea of a draymond 6’7ish player at the def/playmaking route but I’m scared it will be too mediocre a playmaking wasting a skill set.

Save me some time and money here with your experiences.

If you're looking for a complete wing player, defense, 3, off ball speed, and of course the contacts, I'd recommend a 6'8 or 6'9 sharp/slasher. Sharp secondary and slashing first. Your defense isn't the same as putting defense in your build but slasher first anything gets decent strength and vertical. That means you're getting rebounds and blocking shots. I think slasher is the better defensive archetype because ratings on D don't matter past a 70. My pure slasher is my best defender, his only problem is the 3. If I could remake him, that's what I'd do. I already have a shot creator primary and slasher secondary. He does everything well, nothing great. But my build was 6'4 PG do I could speed boost. I would recommend this build for pure scoring as I've had most of my 30 point games on him but as far as defender goes, he's lacking.
