Yeah, the guys I ran with didn't have dimer but just corner specialist + hot zones were enough for me to shoot 3's at 60-65% with a LDD last year and I don't think I'm particularly good at timing releases.

I feel like it's going to be much more difficult this year so I think some people might be in for a rude awakening.

I was shooting better than most sharpshooters up until the last patch .

I am one of the newbs to the Shot Creator build. I never really played as a wing player, I always play as a PG and PF/C. When playing as a PG, I always really played as a Playmaker/Slasher. So, I never truly tried much to create my own shots. I want a different experience this year. I will make effort to try to learn how to be a shot creator. Whether it is shooting off dribble, fadeways, Off-ball actions, Off-Ball screens, ISO, PNR, I have to put the effort into being an effective Shot Creator

If you plan to play Pro-Am as the Center for your team he should be bigger. It is very daunting facing a 340 pound glass cleaner in that mode.

What weight should I make my post scorer/Playmaker.

            He's going to be 7'1 or 7'2.

When I was thinking about creating one, I was imagining him being on the lighter side so you can make sure you can get down the court on offense early.

Since I will be a main facilitator I want to get the ball with as much time on the shot clock as possible.

I tried starting the prelude over and got it to work. Even though my player was bald and not using my updated face scan and still number 0. When I quit and the game and came back later it detected I had completed it. So did the patch fix it?

                    I made mine 6' 11" 251 pounds

Moved very well, dribbled surprisingly fast, and affected shots at the rim

Now it's only prelude so you know game won't be like that

Only thing I'm going to make sure I max out quickly are vertical, blocks and rebounds. At lower heights you want as much help from ratings as possible because you have to assume you'll get dunked on a lot.

If my character can't protect the rim even with block maxed out I'll just make a new guy that's a post scorer defender. I'm really hoping this game is like last year and if you are just good at timing and positioning you'll block a lot of shots no matter your rating

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?

I just realized that the PG position this year is going to be a worthless title. There are going to be so many dual archetypes with playmakers that really making a guy to run point is going to be frustrating if you don't play with your friends

I will be a main culprit. If I get a rebound I'm not gonna lie my first instinct will be to Draymond Green it and take off with it and look for a pass myself. I have to imagine I'm not the only big man making ball handing his secondary for this exact reason.

Something to think about if you want to make a PG this year.

Im tempted to try a 6'11 or 7'0 minimum weight Driving&Finishing + Passing and Ball Handling, a 6'11 minimum AF in 17 got 71 speed with ball, this could be as high as 80 for this 2k18 build.

I'm thinking about running center this year...I usually run PG but I think C's are gonna be OP..so I'm either going 6'11" PF or 6'10" SF..but I'm making a combo Defender/Rebounder or Rebounder/Defender....if the shooting is really tweaked then there's gonna be hella bricks and rebounds are gonna be crucial..and then defense is gonna shut the paint down for all those people trying to slash...

I think there's gonna be something about shot creators that we are missing but we're gonna see when the full game drops..I could be wrong though and matched with playmaker it might balance out..however my top 6 build for a guard is gonna be:

                            Sharp/Playmaker
                            Slashing/Playmaker
                            Slashing/Defender
                            Defending/Slasher
                            Defending/Playmaker
                            Defending/Sharp

Last year I told everyone LDD was gonna be epic..first player I made was an LDD..got him to a 96 with some shooting badges..I was unstoppable in park and proam....I could easily drop 20ppg in prom, no to mention, completely shut down my opponent (besides cheese, which "won't be in the game")...in park I was guarding weak shooters who jacked up BS all the time and I would completely dominate them...without the ball I was a 90 speed, decent dunk rating but with strength I was unguardable...HOF Defensive stopper negated all badges..people hated seeing me...I think going defensive primary and getting that gold/HOF defensive stopper is going to make a lot of these "shot creators" mad especially with how hard shooting is supposed to be now..

                              Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?

I think with the shooting changes, people who already shot good shots and know how to time releases won't be affected

Those people who chose to base their whole game around shooting 3s behind cheese screens will suffer. They will probably be the ones who totally give up on shooting because they know they'll suck now that they can't abuse the exploit of brick wall screens

2k made that archetype to play like Kyle Korver. It was a great idea but they didn't think that we'd put those ppl as the primary ball handlers and cheese screens as hard as we did in 2k17.
2k imo did NOT want superstars in 2k17. They wanted you to have to find ppl who complimented you and in theory it was a good idea. But in actual practice they didn't account for the human factor. The human factor is that no matter how you make the game, some ppl will be better than others. Aka if for the first month after release you make the highest possible level you can get to an 80. There is going to be some 80s who are just way better than others because of stick skill and ball IQ.
