I'm not sure what the solution is until we get into individual help settings, but maybe there are solutions to be found. Ideally we could make these adjustments "online only" but I assumed something intricate like this can't be seperated.

please stop this "online separation". We need to have some kind of option to turn on or off for that. I am no offline player, I solely play online leagues. I want proper AI defense, too!




Does anybody know what exactly this patch did? I played 2 games yesterday after the patch and defense is as stupid as it was the last weeks.

Ever since the patch, every day driving feels more and more like 2K21. WHERE IS THE HELP D THEY ADVERTISED?! Where are the devs or marketing personnel at least explaining what’s going on?

This is a simple business transaction. No need to make it about coddling devs, or getting emotional, etc.

I think that most of the time, when guys here are saying "online only", they actually are trying to say Rec/Park/Pro Am, PNO or MyTeam, and arent actually lumping MyNBA online with that. But we should be in the habit of being more specific. In my experience, guys who are predominantly MyNBA Online players want the same things as offline MyNBA players and even many PNO players.

This year is totally different in an even worse way. They gave us what they advertised, AND THEN JUST TURNED IT OFF. It’s quite honestly one of the biggest slaps in the face I’ve ever seen. “We know how happy most of you are, but there’s this small percentage of players that don’t like it. So we’re taking away what we worked on rather than continuing to improve it.”

I’ve really given up on these guys. Things are so bad right now in so many ways, and so many of the issues have been around for years now.

Serious question. Why are the updates changing the game sooo much? Are they adjusting sliders? Is this through roster updates? It’s the constant updates that change everything on a daily basis. I feel like they are tweaking for the my player guys and it’s effecting in a bad way everyone. It’s crazy how different defense was the day the patch dropped compared to yesterday’s update (which wasn’t a patch).

seriously though... lack of help d/paint protection has been a "legacy issue" for how many years now? now that we know that it's intentional, what other "legacy issues" are kept in place to appease the umm... scrubs?

The crazy part is, at least for me, the game is so good otherwise that it's still a little fun to play, even with the broken defense. It's kind of sad how much of a deal-breaker this problem can be, because they nailed so much other stuff.

I agree. It went from 1 of (if not the best) 2k’s I’ve ever played to 1 of the worst for me. It’s a solid and great game IMO besides the cpu defense. But just knowing I’d have to police myself isn’t fun. I usually try and up the cpu d to be smarter and tougher to make it extra hard and where I have to be locked in for 48 minutes. The offense is great but defensively in every way it’s just so bad it’s unenjoyable. The potential is there but they can’t get out of their own way with these constant updates. I mean that’s another big issue is you can enjoy it 1 day then the update comes and poof it’s all gone again.

I legit feel like I was robbed at this point.

I barely played 2K21 because of this ****. Then I see they fixed the pick and roll defense, post game and shot contest logic and I gladly bought the game. And It was awesome at launch week. I couldnt wait for the season to start so it got even more interesting.

Now they made it 2K21 again. The PNR logic is simply broken. Im really considering trying to get a refund for the first time in my life. Ive bought this game since 2K5, every single year.

They think and treat us as like we are stupid.

Edit: Just to put it in perspective for you guys. This game costs 70 dollars. Brazil's minimum monthly wage is 194 dollars. In the US, the average minimum monthly wage is around 1160 dollars.

So when I say Im feeling robbed, I f****** mean it.

NBA defenses operate on the assumption that on-ball defenders will get beaten. It is assumed that you will need at least the ball defender and help defender to contest a decent ball handler.

Look at the viral nature of Davion Mitchell preventing Donovan Mitchell from getting by on...what was it...3 possessions?

thats what many videogamers dont understand. its ****ing Hard to contain even an average nba Player. elite defenders are capable of containing ballhandlers sometimes, but no one is able to do that consistently. i Play at a relatively low Level in germany and i make a living basically of jab step followed by a Quick first step in the opposite direction. i can basically beat every defender on a close out like 90 % of the time doing that. thats completely normal! even the worst Teams even Play at least the first help Most of the Times. you dont See that at all in 2k.


its getting really frustrating for me. There was a time that i was joking that games Released on even years are Bad (2k12, 2k16), while those Released on odd years (2k11, 2k13)are Good.

i havent played a Good nba 2k in 3 years. 2k20 had massive Performance and Stability problems, it usually Took like 4 or 5 tries to get one online League game completed. 2k21 Was just horrible because of brain dead AI teammates and no help rotations. 2k22 started Off Good, but now is just a slightly modified 2k21. yes, onball d is... uhm... more effective (which is unrealistic....) but help D and AI defenders are as Bad as 2k21.what makes this game even worse now is that Green Releases are much easier increasing the shooting percentages to ridiculous numbers (we have Teams shooting 50-60 % from deep this season in our league....).



its just so frustrating... especially that we saw that 2k can do it better. right at the Release of the game.
