That's what i have been meaning about 2k and 'welcome to my world' saying.

I feel bad after these, i'm definitely a sucker for them right? Aren't we all feeling the same after re-reading all these. Or let's think of someone who will now read and get the game based on this throughout the year so what's this really!? Any proper way of saying it, carefully enough?

I had every 2K, at or near launch, dating back to the pre-teen, voice cracking, Dreamcast days lol. Rode with 2K all the way up until 20. But the bond started getting shaky when I purposely used to disconnect my 360 from the 'net to avoid patches. I dealt with whatever bugs were there for whole cycles.

Don't really buy discs anymore so that eliminates 2K on the PS5 (also why I didn't get 20 or 21 on PS4). But I was open to maybe getting 2k22 after reading the courtside stuff pre-launch. Black Friday was the earliest I was willing to make the purchase & this thread basically went 'scorched earth' on that.

Man those documents from the developers blog on help d look like evidence in a false advertising case lol

I also had the random thought of czar having access to launch day 2k22 and just playing his own hard coded version of it at home, I thought I was going crazy but I guess I'm not the only one.

And yes, as I've said, Ive gone down the slider rabbit hole many times this month/year and they don't make enough difference (due to many of them not working) to be worth my mental health.

I did the slider/roster thing for about 5 months last year - gave up and bought a pre owned copy of 2k16 to play.

Honestly I’d be fine with the current defense as is post current patch. To me the OFFENSE by the computer on default all star is broken!

I played vs the hawks … Trey young will just try to bully me to the hoop and gets blocked like wtf? Over and over again. There’s some plays for other guys but that to me is a huge difference.

Change sliders man. I have not played post patch have not had time with watching games but before the patch with the sliders I am using I dont really have trouble with players trying to bully there way into the paint. Heck i have been seeing a lot of 3s had a game where cpu shot 49 and several other with cpu shooting like 40-45. I notice that cpu with offensive awareness above 55 they shot more from out side. I have been trying 60 also inside shots, close shots, midrange and 3point shots are all a key to.

Roster section is your friend. Out of box rosters, tendencies, and plays is not where it’s at if you want sim and playing cpu.

So you are honesty telling me your are fine with being able to run a pnr with little to no help d to stop it? Everytime?!?

Not trying to be combative, it just baffles me that people aren't bothered by a glaring problem in the game. It's like having auto aim on in an fps. When you figure out you can score 95% of the time in the pnr it takes the challenge / strategy and fun out of the game.

And yes I've tried sliders and rosters etc etc

Those blogs certainly feel like a lie. Not to mention Mike Wang said actually playing defence is so much more fun this year. How? There is nothing different about it from mechanics.

Just remember this company didn’t release a single gameplay video until days before release. This is what a bad movie does. Limits pre-release info to curb bad publicity and hide the negative to get your money. If 2K waits this long next year, speak with your wallets and don’t pre-order.

I'm a Mynba guy mostly so the cpu defence being removed and the many improvements they advertised this year on the devs blogs taken out in regards to cutter help, chase ai definitely made the game redundant for me.

Especially since reading those blogs and watching day 1 gameplay affected if I bought the game or not.

It's clear that 2K is decreasing the game's difficulty for those users who think basketball is just crossovers and dunks...

Luckily for that sort of thing, we have the sliders and we can fix it ourselves!

Re reading atamans post let alone the whole blog you don’t think it’s a lie in its current state? In the blog they actually said freedom of movement & I mean even at launch there was definitely no freedom of movement in a drive since. It was just stonewalls everywhere. If they mean freedom of movement off ball and in running plays then yes that’s amazing this year but they were talking defensively. After re reading the whole blog it’s very misleading to where the game is at currently. Even where it was at launch. Especially all the catch hedge and help d talk. They literally said you need to make 2-3 pass rotations because of help.

I guess the point is if you hadn’t bought the game yet and read this blog the question is is it accurate to what they are getting today when they buy the game? That’s a pretty obvious no and pretty shady really.

I like my defensive players movement but don’t like the delayed steals or stuck after swiping. But I get that’s for competitive and you reach I teach. But unrealistic.

Nah, you’re 100% correct. Some will downplay it, because of the fun they may still be having or the ties they have with 2K, but this is obviously not the same game since release. The amount of patches…

Of course, it’s shady and close to false advertisement now that everyone who has bought and experienced the game, witnessed the different states it fluctuated in. Communication will probably be cut off between most devs, because the inability to please everyone.

I don’t even know what to do with the game anymore with the amount of changes that have occurred. You’ll go from enjoying the game, to hating it within weeks on a patch-to-patch basis.

Been following this thread and good luck to y’all on reaching out. Hopefully those defensive settings will function some day soon.

Ya I just played a quarter after this morning’s update. It went right back to before patch all of a sudden. I just had 39 in 1st quarter Jokic had 12 easy roll points, murray had 8 assists in 9 minutes. They didn’t rotate til after a timeout which was too slow and late again and 1 pass out for wide open corner 3’s.

It was better literally 2 days ago although I wasn’t seeing better or more help but in ball felt better. Now it seems on ball is lower again, the big can’t hedge again, and small ball back. This is crazy!

24, I promise you I am not trying to be dramatic. What the blog says and what we have right now is not even close. I literally just played after this update and it was awful. Very frustrating. It’s almost unplayable for me right now because of it. I’m strictly 5 on 5 Vs cpu and it’s not even fun because they can’t guard or play the pnr. I truly don’t want to shelve this game (especially after all the editing I did with playbooks), but if they don’t address it soon or this year Idk. Just a bad taste and look for me…

I think I’m going to twitch a livestream later today to show what I’m talking about and replay each pnr.
