Or they are having a good time with the game and don't have time to complain..

I’m still testing sliders guys. But I don’t connect online anymore . If I disconnect the updates don’t effect my game .

Yes I’ll still be posting a full slider set, I’ve just stepped away from the game for the holidays and am now in the middle of (hopefully) shifting/advancing my career IRL. Real life gets in the way sometimes, but at least when I get back to in-depth testing 2K will be done patching and tuning the game [emoji1695]

Hope your holidays went well. 2K has been crazy frustrating this year. I've played less this year than probably I ever have. Getting a slider set to stick with never used to be this hard. Still looking forward to whatever you come up with. Appreciate you sticking with it.

This dude, nobody’s having a good time with this game, every patch they ruin good sliders in this forum, and the sliders makers are fed up of resetting and retooling literally everything

This has been my least played 2k ever and i forced myself to play it dozens of times but always got trustrated with the gameplay and quit. Players can barely move and it really feels like the devs don't even watch real life basketball or won't make a realistic game on purpose because of the online community.

Omg dude..... Crazy you posted this. They just had an update last night. The game isn't broken again, but they made tweaks and now my games playing wonky again. Back to adjustments AGAIN. I was literally just in my groove and enjoying the game again and they came and posterized with this bull

Same. I'm usually going balls to the walls in MyLeague this time of year and getting excited about off days so I can play. It's been I think 3 weeks now since I've played. I decided to not even bother until Eccentric, Duce, or Shady Mike release definitive updates. Pretty sure Shady got so discouraged he gave up on updating his so it's down to the other two. Sucks to not be able to enjoy a game I've loved for years.

Im not sure I would say offline is a simulation experience, even with slider adjustments, you cant get a true simulation experience. You can improve it from default settings, but there is still a lack of variety of fouls that get called. You see very few blocking and charging fouls, and even less shooting fouls on perimeter shot attempts.
I think you will see a few more of these fouls, if you play on the higher difficulties, but some of us old guys, cant play on those settings, and have to settle for pro or all star. Gameplay basics on the lower difficulties, like fouls, should not change regardless which difficulty you play on. Really the only things that should change on lower difficulties is the CPU should make more mistakes/turnovers.

I also think there is just flaws in the coding, that no amount of roster editing and slider editing will fix it. Although both of those things can improve the gameplay, if you have the time and patience to do it yourself, or wait for others to edit these things, and then find the roster and sliders that you like best.
for those who say its not a sim experience offline, I say you are probably correct.
Sim is contextual. Ive never really had an issue with getting a quasi sim experience, that's because Ive always played the game within NBA 2k's core parameters. meaning, I play the game the way 2k developers had intended.

I dont look for exploits, I dont try to break the game, I dont dribble like Im in and AND1 tournament. etc.
I call plays, I call timeouts, I make adjustments, I always set up my defense, etc.

simulators require simulation input by users.

the 2 issues that bother me are rebounding and fouls, and those are easy to edit. takes very little time:

The last few years Ive used the global edits to edit all the players' foul tendencies. they are all maxed.

                      last thing:
folks always say the core "engine" never gets updated. if thats the case then anything they add to it are basically layered features, which could effect the core "engine" of the game.
I think this is the reason why player movement, especially on defense is horrible this year.

other than that it's a solid game.

I agree. If your looking for exploits within the game and not playing as you would IRL, then you have no valid reason to complain about it not being sim enough.

Those who play online, will never get a sim experience, unless they are playing with like minded individuals. After all its a video game, my guess is if your looking to find exploits within the flaw of the game engine, you will likely find them, because no matter how close to a sim experience the devs strive for, they cant fix the humans that are playing the game.

Offline, you can get a descent simulation of the NBA, with slider adjustments. Is it perfect no, but IMO NBA2k20 overall is the best basketball to date. There are a few things in previous NBA2k's, that were done better than in NBA2k20, but from a overall standpoint, for those of us who play offline, and particular My League, its is the best basketball to date.

My biggest issues, are the same ones I have had for several yrs now, except for a couple yrs, around 2k16 thru 2k18, I forget the exact yrs, but there was a couple yrs, when you would see shooting fouls on 3pt attempts, and charging fouls being called at a more realistic rate, where as both 19 and 20, have a lack of shooting fouls on 3pt attempts, and charges being called, and not really enough blocking fouls either.

I have found that if you play on all star or above you will see a few more blocking and charges get called. I have had only 1 shooting fouls on a 3pt attempt in probably close to 50 full games played.

Even with these issues, Im still enjoying the game. Mainly because I think I have finally got my sliders about as good as Im going to get them, and I think once I get my roster edited that I will use in ML, it will be improve even more, or Im hoping anyway, that will be the case.

Eccentric, can you test please the superstar difficulty default settings? I think, it's a better starting point than HOF because AI seems to be more human on this difficulty.

Superstar difficulty is undoubtedly better than HOF, as the AI doesn’t rely on added “cheese” in order to provide a harder challenge. My set will be on Superstar, because you can get a much closer to sim experience while still making the game challenging in a realistic way.
