    Re: 2014 Draft Discussion

Just a question for you guys since this kind of reminds me of the 2003 draft, where one of the supposed top 3 picks will be a bust... Who do you think will be a bust in this one?

Embiid. He could pull a Greg Oden. Or stay injury free, actually be a solid player, but get the "bust" label just because he was picked ahead of someone from this draft that will blossom.

I think if Embiid is healthy--which all signs point to him being--I see him as a franchise player. His tape is just unreal to me.

Embiid and Parker. I think Parker at his floor will still be a solid 10-15 PPG guy off the bench. Embiid, who knows. He should have dominated in college but he didn't and was always in foul trouble.

I think Wiggins' "floor" is higher than both Parker & Embiid. He's going to be a very good defender in the NBA that will be able to guard 2-4 positions. If he develops a good offensive game he's going to be a superstar I believe.

I highly doubt anyone other than Embiid, Parker, Wiggins, is picked in the top 3.

Same here but you never know. I wouldn't be surprised if the Cavs pick Wiggins that they would pick Exum if they really want to move Knight to the 2.

                  I agree with this.

I just picked him as most likely to "bust" out of the 3 because I think Wiggins and Parker have such high floors, though Embiid could have the highest ceiling.

I think Wiggins at his very very worst will become a little better defensive version of Gerald Green.. No the crappy Gerald Green, but he Green this year for Phoenix that averaged 16 a game.

While I think Parker is so talented offensively that even if he has trouble defensively he can still be a solid player. I don't think his "lack" of athleticism will hinder him from creating shots. Guys like Pierce and Johnson found ways to be prolific scorers in this league and I think he can do the same.

Embiid could always get injured, or be another talented big man forever stashed away at the end of a bench who never got to develop.

But like I said, even if he does become a very solid pro, if he's taken 1st and Wiggins, Parker, Exum or anyone explode into a future hall of famer he will automatically be looked at as a "bust". Even Sam Bowie has a career double digit scoring average, and a year averaging 15 & 10, yet he's pretty much considered he biggest bust of all time.

I understand where you're coming from here I feel like the league is overdue for another star big man, so I have a good feel about Embiid. I feel like Wiggins represents the biggest bust potential, but at the same time we've seen so many big man busts it's a little bit hard to trust them. Personally, I think Wiggins has the biggest bust potential but that's probably just me

Wiggins working out twice for Milwaukee now. Hopefully this means he's our guy if Cleveland doesn't take him
