Because he’s getting paid either way, lol

When the Bulls were resting healthy players in 2018, the league warned them. And of course, there’s the whole AD situation from 2019.

But yet teams are allowed to sit healthy guys who won’t be apart of the team’s future with no problem. Make it make sense.

If Houston isn't going to play him they should be forced to cut him before the season starts. Have them take the 91 million hit on the books and move on. They aren't going to be able to trade him without giving up a lot of assets. What are they hoping for to save a few million on the buyout deal ?

And once that happens, contracts will no longer be guaranteed for injury and this is no longer an issue.

Im not even sure this is a “Rock meets hard place” issue because we both know they can get rid of him if they wanted to.

There would be a cost of course but if you want to get rid of him that bad…then well, bite the bullet. We already know what would happen if this was the other way around.

That is true, I guess it’s more tough for the league if they want to regulate this stuff which doesn’t seem necessary to me. Everyone involved (Rockets, John Wall, Rockets fans) seem satisfied. As a Knicks fan, I literally begged for years for my team to stop operating on the sunk cost fallacy and play the kids instead of David Fizdale’s “Ima get you right” trying to get random dudes contracts that had no future with the team. If the league minds their business, everything goes smoothly to me. If Wall has a problem, file a grievance with the NBAPA. Silver does not need to pull another Hinkie.

Like everything, we just wanna see some consistency.

Teams can sit healthy players and publicly state they have no intention of playing them but you better not be an executive congratulating another player on a different team for breaking a franchise record or be a player making a trade request public or else we’re coming after that wallet.

I feel like that’s just the difference between Magic saying “Ben Simmons is a great player” and Shams reporting the Lakers are interested in Ben. They aren’t going to get fined for the latter, and they’re not getting fined for Shams reporting the Rockets or Thunder’s plans. They never put out a statement or anything.

I don't get the latest Kyrie rumor.

Nets don't want him? But he doesn't want to go elsewhere? And will retire if they move him?

                          [emoji849] The rumor isn’t true.

Nick Wright just throwing any thing at the wall and hoping that it sticks. Slow news day I guess.

I think it had to do with his "mask off, no fear" post he made on Twitter so Nick just tried to make it into something probably suggesting that BK would trade him so they don't have to deal with his nonsense but it's a baseless assumption on Nick's part. That's how I interpreted his random tweet anyways...

Its 99% that(because nothing is 100% other than death and taxes).

It’s exhibit #1847449 of how rumors start and because Twitter isn’t full of bright people nowadays, they take it as gospel and run with it, especially NBA Twitter.

Kyrie replied and called him a puppet and Nick replied back saying "they both know" that's what his representation said about how he'd retire if traded, lmao.
