have you and your friends played in the lower divisions since the patch? i'm not saying there isnt a problem there, but i would like confirmation from someone who is playing there now after the patch just for some confirmation. We tend to forget that the ppl on this forum tend to be the top 5% or so of the playerbase and we assume that a problem for us is a problem for all

Re: The strongest punishment to side sway spam
I really don't think head movement when they're standing right next to you is the only issue (still an issue though). I think a lot of it is on the outside as well. Try going in and out with the jab against someone who spams head movement. It's so silly. As far as lunging back being a good work around... I doubt it would work against somebody who knows what they're doing. And I mean good Div 5 players who have mastered this strategy.
I hear a lot about "oh it can be countered so it isn't an issue". Does it really matter if it plays like **** and isn't realistic? Like, we want people to play the game right? Inside fighting can be countered by throwing uppers/hooks (AKA being forced to fight there) but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be fixed. It should go deeper than "this can be countered so no fix needed".
I just want all aspects of MMA to be as useful as they are irl. Currently it is not even close to that. If that isn't a problem then I guess we leave the game how it is because it can be "countered". But this is also what is turning a lot of people off from the game.
This isn't directed at you or anything btw. Just trying to say what I think.
You hit the nail on the head. Plus, these counters require a considerable amount of skill compared to the low skill required to sway/duck and hook/uppercut.

Re: The strongest punishment to side sway spam
edit: My guess would be this would not be anywhere near the problem it is without the addition of the easier tko's, less knockdowns and stamina drain for knockdowns they implemented in the last patch with the heamdovement/strikes fixes.Last edited by Sivo; 03-10-2018, 10:18 AM.Comment

Re: The strongest punishment to side sway spam
they have tried to change headmovement and strikes coming out of headmovement. They just werent enough and with the increased chance of tko's they nullified your ability to withstand the sways and rocks and take them out later in the fight when they have blown a good chunk of stamina and u had higher stamina. Whereas now even if u do survive the rocks your stamina is depleted so much that u have no chance of catching them later in the fight.

Just another video fo someone using only says to win a fight, and yes i know, i got sloppy but still.
What's the point of the game at the moment when 8/10 fights are like this??
What a crock of ****.
This fighti posted above was a quick match. It was 4 roundsof conor mcgregor weaving in and out like a professional balet dancer.
Quit saying its only a problem in ranked because 90% of my quick match fights have turned into this pathetic scene.PSNID: B_A_N_EComment

Re: The strongest punishment to side sway spam
agreed, i just believe this is one of the consequences of them implementing as many fixes as they did in the last patch. There are bound to be some unintended consequences and things they never saw coming, when u have so many overlapping fixesComment

Re: The strongest punishment to side sway spam
nope dont know enough about developing a gameI'm just always able to see an argument form both perspectives(i like to sit on the fence about most things). That plus i still believe the devs know wat their doing and just need time. Every game i have played online for the past few years has these types of arguments for the first few months and it takes allot of patches to fix things and then fix things that arise form that patch etc

Re: The strongest punishment to side sway spam
Leg kicks don't even always trip opponents with one foot in the air.
Single strikes need to cause more damage/rocks. Everyone only spams for vulnerability rocks cuz a guy can sit there not moving and eat 20 punches but if he throws a strike and gets countered he's instantly rocked/dropped.
How hard is it to notice how this stupid game favors counters over everything else? Grappling in itself is pretty useless with the huge denial windows on clinch and tds and that you can actually flick the stick to deny both.Comment

Re: The strongest punishment to side sway spam
The players he's playing aren't as good as him for one. Secondly, they're not using the head movement as effectively as it can be used. While I will say there are a couple rocks he got there for hitting the guy at the right vulnerability window... there's also TONS of times when that doesn't happen.
The guys he's fighting here aren't very good with head movement though. They have poor timing in general imo.Last edited by Serengeti1; 03-10-2018, 10:58 AM.Comment
