Every Icon fighter has shorts (minus sponsors) that they had during the time their fighter is from.

What's the deal woth Cro Cop then. You can not tell me Prime Cro Cop was wearing those shorts. That's not Prime Cro Cop. That's an old man with good stats.


And again, That's no where even near Prime Wand. In body, in shorts. In everything but stats.

I cant speak specifically but it looks like they took the UFC 2 model for Cro Cop and gave him standard Croatian flag shorts. They couldve created a new model for him but they already had one from a past game so they probably thought it was a better use of resources to create models for icon fighters who havent been in the game like Serra and Kimbo than using it on Cro Cop.

Likely the same thing happened with Wandy given that he was in UFC 1 and they already had a model for him. They couldnt reuse his shorts from UFC1 because those were owned by Venum so they gave him generic brazilian flag shorts.

Its think its pretty easy to figure out. They reused models they already had for fighters that were in previous games. Maybe I'm wrong though but I really dont give a **** about icon fighters to dig any deeper.

Give the real old school legends the respect they deserve.

Put some respect on them names. I do give a **** about them.

Ronda didnt get special treatment. They changed her shorts (using shorts she used in UFC 2) and stats....thats it. Its the same thing they did for Wandy.

Then why did Wand and Cro Cop not get the right shorts? If it's that simple?

They both look like Old Geezers



Ronda has a totally unique chatacter model. Wand and Cop got rehashed assets.

One more time:

Ronda, Cro Cop and Wandy did not get new models when they were made into icons.

Ronda already had a UFC 3 model and when she became an icon, all they did was change her stats and give her the shorts she had in UFC 2. They did not give her a new model.

Cro Cop had a UFC 2 model (which is based on a 41 year old Cro Cop). He has the same shorts as he had in UFC 2. The only thing they did was boost his stats.

Wandy has a UFC 1 model (that is based on a 35 year old version of Wandy). They couldnt use the shorts he had in that game because they are Venum shorts. So they gave him generic brazilian shorts and increased his stats.

So it comes down to whether people care enough that they want the art team to devote time to creating a younger version of the each fighter. I personally would rather that time be used for new fighters.

Ronda had Vale Tudo shorts before, she has Vale Tudo shorts now. It's just the design that's different. Wanderlei had board shorts in UFC 1 too, he has that type of shorts again, just a different colour.

Ahh but see...you are confused.

With Diaz, they had to attach a different style of short to his model so they had to create (or at least duplicate his model) with a new style of shorts. With Rousey and Wandy, they didnt change the style of their shorts...they just changed the skin/art on each short (UFC 2 art for Ronda and Generic Brazilian for Wandy).

With Cro Cop, they did none of those things and just used his model from UFC 2.

You are also asking for significant changes in the model. You are asking them to make younger versions of the model which requires more changes than just changing the short style like they did with Diaz.

You just have to accept that you are wrong on this one.

@aholbert, I revisited the Fighter Likeness thread where you said it would be difficult for them to allow the player to switch up short types at will. What I want to know is will they be able to update short styles for UFC 4? Actually, I think I just answered my own question in my head because Weidman had board shorts in 2 and has Vale Tudo in 3. So yeah, they 100% can.

I dont know how difficult it will be. I'm hoping that the devs/art team will do their due diligence and watch the last fight of each fighter (before the game is locked) to make sure that the have the correct shorts and colors.

Yh i'd like to see this too. Don't just give us the old heads with prime stats. They should also look like their younger selves with the appropriate attire. A prime Big Nog, Wand, Cro Cop all should have vale tudo shorts.
