True. It’s more than just hooks but boy those forward moving hooks are something else when you really look at them.

In general, I think forward moving strikes should have an extra bit of risk. Forward punches are a bit slower per frames but should visually look more like they really are over extending when missed. Forward moving kicks should have a risk of causing fighters to slip, especially spinning strikes while moving forward.

Worst of all animations is the continuous forward moving rear knee . How this is so effective in this game is beyond me .

Here's a pretty big want and it shouldn't be any trouble to do this:

Whenever you're in Quick Fight, make it so whenever CAFs are enabled, the player can actually see the name of the opponent's CAF. I want to know if a guy has tried to create a real life fighter, whether current or former, and I wouldn't mind playing such a player. I'd even enjoy it, especially if they've assigned the CAF realistic stats. Currently you can only see the CAF's flag.

One thing I want as I mostly play 1 vs 1 offline is for a separate player visual settings . I want to be able to hide my grappling HUD while my mates can keep theirs on if they want .

Yes custom fight now enables you to do this somewhat but it really spoils it for me as submissions are useless since your opponent can see it coming .

Wanr: bring back reactive headmovement. Most of it in this game is based on anticipation which isnt realistic. Fighters irl dont just anticipate every single strike.

Since a professional fighters strikes can shoot out so fast, pattern recognition is a big part of real life success in headmovement, your reaction time can be less reliable, like a last line of defense
Think of cro cops style, every left head kick is faked with a left straight, and in his prime his left straight had some serious speed. It's better not to react, but to anticipate and predict when hes going to throw it

Sways are deadly in this game when used well . The ducking uppercut is so OP in this game .

You cant perform u shaped motions in this game to evade hooks. We can sway only in four ways. Plus its not always responsive

Re: UFC 4: Needs vs. Wants

Yeah, I just thought I'd say that no matter how much I want certain realism elements to be implemented, I feel the most important thing is having engaging modes for both offline and online. Not the only important thing, of course, but given how barren 1, 2 and 3 have been... It is of great importance.

A lot of great suggestions have been made for both Career and Universe Mode, as well as the Online Modes and refreshing those. That's without mentioning modes such as Champ (?) Mode (the one from UD 3) or a Showcase Mode (I'm not a big fan of that one, just more scripts). Those suggestions feel (only feel) like they've been swept under the rug a little bit, as they haven't been brought up in ages and the meta is usually the dominant topic. It would be great if the threads are pulled up again, unless the devs have already addressed them behind the scenes.

So I hope the modes have been/will be given the proper attention because having nothing but simply Ranked, Quick or Offline to in the fourth installment of the series for another 2 or however many years it will be would be unacceptable. It's about time we got a complete package of a game.

I would appreciate it if the devs allowed us offline guys who mostly play custom fight now mode to hide our grapple HUD during 1 vs 1 .

The option to hide the HUD for 1 player , while the other player can keep his HUD on if they choose so would make it a whole lot better . Just seperate settings for each player .

As off now my mates can see each other's transitions coming.

I could be wrong but I swear there was a competitive HUD option that gives a HUD to both players but does not show transition inputs. Allowing you to see your options from a position, but not giving any information to those who are watching on the same screen.

Yes there is . It helps if your opponent is new to the game .

I play quick fight online often so I'm used to going of reaction. But a lot of people I play with offline know there is a transition coming or a sub coming if it's the only transition available from that position.

For instance going for a guillotine sub is useless for us offline 1 vs 1 guys unless I get grapple advantage from blocking my opponent significantly.

If there are multiple transitions it helps but only slightly but when there is only one transition or sub available it's pretty much useless .

I've encouraged my pal to play without the grapple HUD but it's hard for him.

So this would be a welcome improvement.

We play a lot of 1vs1 on custom fight now .
