Re: The career of a man named Lynn - RTTS
8/24/12
The end of my goal period ended and I reached 3 out of the 5 goals. The manager praised me for the work and the improvement in my pitching then handed me a list of new goals.
1. Increase stamina over next 4 series
2. Increase h/9 attribute over next 4 series
3. Over next 4 series, allow 6 or less earned runs
4. Over next 4 series, have a WHIP lower than 1.000 (who do they think I am, Cy Young???)
5. Over next 4 series, have at least 14.0 innings pitched. If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you can read this in english, thank a soldier.Comment

We are back home and hosting the Milwaukee Brewers as my turn rolls around. I gave up a monster 434-foot blast by Prince Fielder in the top of the 1st and then shut down the Brew Crew until the 6th inning when all heck broke loose. I served up a bunch of hits which allowed Milwaukee to score 3 runs in the 6th, including my 3rd wild pitch of the season. I was done at the end of the inning and we lost to the Brewers, 6-2, dropping my record to 2-2. At the plate, I went 1-2 and scored our run in the 3rd inning.

What was the name of that song by Canned Heat? Oh, yeah. On the road again we go as we are at AT&T Park to face the San Francisco Giants. It's game two of our series as I take the mound. I surrender a solo home run to #84 to start the 8th inning to tie the game, 1-1. That was the last of the three hits that I allow and we lost in 14 innings, 2-1. I went 1-3 with a bunt single at the plate and I struck out a MLB career high 8 Giants in my best start since arriving in "The Show". The scouts are telling me that I have a big time fastball as I am now constantly hitting the mid 90s. I also need to make a note to take Russell Martin out to dinner for the terrific job he has done calling the games for me.

We are back in Chavez Revine and hosting the Arizona Diamondbacks, the co-leaders of the NLW, at Dodger Stadium as my turn comes up.
This was domination at it's best for me as I hold the D'backs hitless until two outs in the 4th when Tony Clark singles. Other than that, I only allow two other hits in my 8 innings of shut out ball. I went 0-2 with a strikeout at the plate as the Dodgers won the game, 3-0.

Re: The career of a man named Lynn - RTTS

It's a steamy night at Dolphin Stadium as we are in Florida to face the Marlins.
I started out by throwing 2 1/3 innings of no-hit ball then I gave up a 2-run homer to Hermida in the last of the 4th inning to end my scoreless streak. I scattered 9 hits in my 6 1/3 innings of work, allowing 3 runs and striking out 6. At the plate I was 1-3 with 2 strikeouts but I drove in two runs with my single in the 4th inning as we started to break the game open. The Dodgers ended up winning, 10-4, giving me my 4th win in 6 decisions.
After the game, I was told that Chad Billingsley was just about ready to go and he would be taking his spot back in the rotation.

I was called into the manager's office today and was told that I was going to be sent back to Las Vegas now that Billingsley has gotten the okay to return to action.
This ends my season since the PCL playoffs are over but what a season it was.
