The weather around here finally got warm enough for me to get back out on the course again. I played about a month ago, and that was the first time in 6 months. I think I shot an 85. Can't remember.

That day, I had a first happen, after my 13 years of golfing - I laid up on a long par 5, so my 3rd shot was from about 160, and I knocked it in for an eagle. Not my first eagle, but it's the first time I've ever knocked a shot in from that far out. (I've never had a hole in one).

Today, shot a 79, after a 37 on the back. I'm on spring break this week, so I'm going to try to get out and play every day.


Do any of you guys use the GolfLogix app for the iPhone or Blackberry or whatever other phones carry it?

I use golf logix. It's great and pretty accurate. Just be sure to close the phone manually otherwise it'll keep running and eat your battery by the 8th hole.

I just keep it running in background and pull it up when needed. The stats tracking is great too!

So we hit the range a lot today in my golf class. Tried having my takeaway a bit further away from my body and oh my.... i was hitting all of my irons straight.

And after about half an hour i got my driver straight!
It's like I'm not in the way of my own swing anymore... its great! If I can continue improving my consistency (which it seems like im doing alright) i might be able to post some low scores this year. Maybe even have a par round


Also, my dad got a hole in one on Sunday at the course i work at. What an easter egg that was. And I guess 4/20 was the day he played Augusta a couple years back... some lucky day for him right?

Bought this shaft off of a guy from GolfWRX. $100 shipped. Going to go into my Titleist 910 D2, lucky for me it has an authentic adapter already on the shaft so it's pretty much just plug n play.



It's a low launch, low spin shaft perfect for me.

It's a low launch, low spin shaft perfect for me.

That's a cool looking shaft. I wish I hit it high enough to need a low hitting shaft. Sadly I struggle at getting it to full height!

Jut curious, are shafts usually that much? Or is it a more expensive one?

Hmm. I may look into this shaft. I have a real problem with hitting my driver too high. I don't mind it with my irons because it really works to my advantage, as it makes the ball sit softly on the green.

Why so low? I used to use 9.5 but like 10.5 better.

Have you tried higher lofts? I'm sure you know but 8.5 don't necessarily mean it goes further than 10.5 if that's the reason.

My brother gave me an 8.5 and I couldn't hit it! Lol

Sorry I get what you're saying. Misread that. Are you dipping too much? Teeing too high?

If you have a local club fitter have them fit your driver and check your launch angle. You obviously know you're hitting too high but the numbers will greatly help I know it did me when I had my session.

My driver swing must be crap then because I have my R1 tuned to 11* and I hit line drives off the tee. Ball flies, usually between 240-260, but never very high.

Is your swing speed seriously that fast? To get to 110 would take some oomph for amateurs, I have a pretty damn fast swing and I barely top 95MPH.

98 MPH with a normal swing. When I step on it, I can get to 107, but then its slice (or duck hook) city.

Meant Alex since he said he's using 8.25. Sounds like he's holding himself back and it's more of the swing vs his loft.

That's a good swing speed though Rob. I remember you saying your tall too so that probably brings a lot of power down into it haha.

I think im around 103mph or something with driver and my max was like 115. But yea, hardly any control then.

I have my R1 at 10 degrees, but i used to use 8.5 or 9 growing up.

I usually play a driver with 10.5 degrees of loft. I bought the 910 D2 driver off eBay and it came with this high launch shaft in it.

I swing my driver around 100-105mph. Anything more and I lose control. My 8 iron swing is around 90mph on average
