Downloaded Links 2003 on my PC, and wow, I might start playing this game again. I can't remember if it's the game I used to play back when I was really young, but I think it is...

All my shots have a natural draw but the driver moves about 30+ yards of hook. On some holes it's playable but doglegs right kill me. I've tried playing it more up in my stance, opening the club face, standing closer to the ball, but nothing has straightened it out. There was a time that I could drive the ball with ease and I'm not sure what I'm doing differently.

I also don't get as much distance as I think I should. I'm 2 clubs longer than my brother/father on iron shots but consistently in the same range on drives, even when I hit them straight. I hit my PW about 150+ but only drive the ball 260 or so.
Sounds to me you might have the wrong shaft for the driver. What's the loft and shaft? I swing 107 mph, use a 9.5 with a stiff shaft. I tried to hit my dad's beautiful R9 driver with a regular and I hook the crap out of it.

If anything - let's take a look at the swing. Who knows it could be a matter of set up or tempo. Hard to say.

Loved that game, but I keep coming back to TW 08. Used to play on an incredibly fun Tour called The Clambakers for several years. It used a realistic handicap system - and software developers created an online tracking hub in their spare time. It was the cat's pajamas, man.

Which Tiger Woods game would you say is the best one for PS3? I slightly enjoyed 13 but it just didn't look as good as other versions I felt.

I hear 08 was one of the best. Although, I am a late bloomer to consoles, man. I played nothing but PC games for a long time there. I've had a total of 4 nexgen games - and they were all football.

Shot -2 for a 7 hole stretch. Best I have ever done. Ended up finishing the back nine +1.

We won't even discuss the front nine because it was ugly.

I use a stiff flex Ping G15. Using the swing stick at my golf shop my speed is between 105-110.

That is a pretty fast swing speed. 110-112 is about the PGA tour average. Guys like Dustin Johnson and J.B. Holmes swing it around 125. The average everyday male golfer's swing speed is 80-90.

I was in a simulator the other day and had to swing barefooted so I couldn't really go after it, but my swing speed was in the mid 80's. That is a huge difference and part of the reason, among many others, I don't hit it a long way.

That was his 3rd win this year and he leads the FedEx Cup points standings. Tales of his demise have been greatly exaggerated.

                        Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Tiger is still really good, but everyone is judging him on the Tiger of old. What Tiger did at the beginning of his career (pre-fire hydrant crash) was just freakin' off the charts. Nobody will ever do that again. He was just dominant. If he got in the lead, he just won. If he needed a big putt he made it. If he had to hit a miraculous shot, he pulled it off. Nobody else could do it. Nobody can do it now. Tiger is probably still the best player in the world, but he has come back to the field a little bit.

As for the US Open, that was a very very difficult golf course. Those first 6 holes were brutal. Tiger didn't really play that bad, he was leading the Open for a good while. He just fell off, just like 1000's of other golfers have done. We just judge Tiger differently. If he enters a tourney and doesn't win, everyone thinks something is wrong or he's lost it. He has won almost 30% of the PGA tournaments he's entered. That is just astounding. That is a crazy, crazy, crazy number. Tiger is not the Tiger of old, but he's is still as good as anyone else playing the game right now.

Tiger Woods is the reason Tiger Woods isn't dominant anymore. Think back to his first masters. Many golfers in the field were fat, slow, drinkers and smokers who didn't care about their overall health.

Now guys like Dustin Johnson, Rory and the like are more athletes than golfers.

That is only one part but IMO its a big part.

I was going to post this too. Tiger was the only athlete in golf in the early 2000's. Now everyone is like him. Everyone can hit those long drives, but one thing that separates Tiger from everyone is the shots Tiger can hit. Like that one last week with this nine iron that hit the tree, only Tiger can do something like that.

97 today and haven't shot over a hundred in over a month. Last summer I couldn't imagine. Reaming 100! My last six rounds were all in 90 s and 1in 80s! I also just got a summer job as a starter/outdoor ranger at a golf course on Monday and Fridays! Free golf!

                              What a summer...
