Eh. The 48" are necessary to do certain drills. For $2, I couldn't pass.Comment

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Played 3 holes today:
Par 4. 3 Iron to 100 yards, SW just short of the green (pin cut in front), 2 "putt"
Par 4 5 Iron to 100 yards, SW to fringe, 2 putt
Par 3 3 Iron long and right, 20-25 yard Flop shot to 3 feet, 1 putt
Had to finish there because as an employee I can't be the last cart on the course.
Afterwards I went to the range and hit only Driver, 3 iron, and 5 iron... I need work on all of them. It was looking good. The way I'm playing, I'm looking for an even par round (maybe even on 18 holes) once it warms up a bit.
My putting and long irons need the most work, definitely.I used to put important things hereComment

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Well, today (since i wasn't scheduled to work) I went back out to Hawk Hollow play. (If you guys ever find yourselves stranded in Lansing, MI... check out Hawk Hollow and Eagle Eye. Easily the best courses in the area)
Windy as hell all day and only about 55 or so as a high temp.
When I got there I chipped and putt for probably 15 minutes a piece, then tee'd it up.
I've been working at this course for 3 years now and my dad worked there from when i was 8-10yrs old, so it's my home course more or less.
Anyways. Top pic was my front 9. Played from the tips today... why not right? Shot 45 on the back 9 after i stopped for like 45 minute lunch..oops!
Bottom pic was later this afternoon during my golf class (from the green tees), basically same conditions but not playing by myself...and not riding a cart.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Finally got to go out and try my new driver shaft today after I got it in the mail on Monday.
Unbelievable difference between the new shaft and my old one. Trajectory is more penetrating and I've gain some yardage as well. Got a friend of mine to take a quick video on my swing, thought I'd share it.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Played my first round in about a month. Front nine went well enough shot a 46. Back nine was just terrible, I blew up with a 12, two 8s and a 9. Other 5 holes were acceptable couple bogeys and couple pars. I really need to stop talking about it and just go take lessons. My biggest problem is when things start to go south, I don't have the fundamentals to fall back on. My driver is erratic as hell, left, left, straight, slice, snap hook, straight, left. Very hard to play that way.
Putter was outstanding today, made one for 15 feet, and two others from between 10-12, and I was money at 6 feet and in. Really only reason I was able to keep the score decent on the back 9 is the number of 1 putts. Oh well I will take a day on the course over just about everything.Moderator

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Third round of the year and third round with my new speedblades and shot an 82. +7 on the front and then heated up and went +3 on the back. I wish I didn't give away so many shots on that front side!Beavers|Red Sox|Buccaneers|NBA HoopsComment

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Actually, just learned to chip.. Watched a video from Phil Mickelson I believe. You want to get your feet somewhat close, then make a putter swing, not breaking wrists etc. You still want to kind of "pop" it. After I get off I'll find that video. I have chipped a few in now since and I couldn't chip at all before.Comment

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
The method that has worked for me has been taking my normal stance maybe slightly closer together, weight slightly forward and using my putting grip to do a chip and run.
I've read/seen that for amateur's using the chip and run approach and putting even when off the green is the best way to get it within a makeable range for an easy one or two putt.Go Yankees
