So I just shot another 77 today during my round. First time ever I've shot back to back rounds in the 70's! Again putting let me down, but everything else was pretty decent.

Another 77?! I wish! I cant complain myself though ... finally hitting in the 90's more regularly now - 5/6 of my last games have been in the mid nineties. Have a round scheduled for noon today, hope to hit low 90's to late 80's if possible.

        No it's still going on.

Well after working until 4am and trying to get a few hours sleep..which was a failure.. I shot a 91.

We had a good time though.
I'm never doing that again though. Downed some coffee and a 5hr energy but didn't really help much.

It was absolutely Beautiful! A few holes reminded me of Bay Hill. The only thing that we had to complain about was that they didnt mow the greens tight enough. But we guess that it would make them too difficult for the average golfer (especially since this place was in the middle of nowhere)

Anyways, Rough start.... quad on the first. lol

Shot 45 on the front but hit the last 3 greens in reg.

2 Birdies on the back, but a triple and another quad ruined that. Another 45

Hit the driver exactly where I wanted except for 3 holes (hole #1 & 10)
Including a 350 yard bomb on #18. (a par 5 that reminds me of 18 at bay hill slightly)
          Hit most irons right :/
Divot was left of my line and looked to be square, but i guess my clubface is wide open haha

Still working on my flop shots, but my short game was solid and bunker game was too!
Putting was awful, pace and line all day was terrible. It was like playing a mountain course (so im told)

All in all, very fun round at a gem of a course. And the best part was that I made it to work on time lol

I played this course many years back. Unfortunately, I had a pretty bad hangover that morning and a rough ride to the course, it really put a damper on the day. So much so, I barely remember the course. I would love to give it another try someday.

If you are in that area again, there is a course just a couple of exits away called The Majestic at Lake Walden. It's 27 holes scattered over a massive piece of property, and a large lake in the middle. I see it on GolfNow quite often, so a good deal could be had. Just a unique and pretty cool piece of land to play golf on.

Funny you should mention that. I work at hawk hollow/eagle eye and our owner has a share of Majestic so we get a hook up every once in a while. I played last year (dont remember which 2 nines) and didn't really like it that much.
It was alright. I mean, it was nice... but i don't feel like it was as nice as Coyote. And I definitely didn't feel like it was nicer than my courses. Idk, maybe I was in a bad mood lol

Another one, not nearly as expensive but beautiful course is Muskett Ridge. It's about an hour north on 70 past Hagerstown (?) but it's a beautiful course in the middle of nothing and right off the interstate.
I'm only 45 minutes from Muskett Ridge..
May have to add that to list for the year.

                Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

And I've hit the mid season slump. Just not hitting the ball real crisp. Good enough to get by, but not good enough to score well. After getting a 75, I've been around 82-85 the rest of the time. Just missing greens, burning edges when I do get a decent look at birdie, etc. I'm still snapping off some nice stretches of 5 or 6 holes where I'll be 1 under par or so, but that will come right behind a stretch of 7 over for 6 holes, etc. Just got to pull it together, big money season starts next week.

I live in Auburn Hills. Unfortunately, my Michigan golf days are probably limited, as I am moving to Chicago this month. In my couple of trips, I've been fairly underwhelmed with the Chicago golf scene, at least for someone ballin' on a budget like me. There are a lot of courses I am going to miss, and many more that I never got to try, like your courses up in Lansing.

Hitting the ball well, just missing too many fairways with the driver.
Played a skins game with a bunch of guys i work with. Some are scratch and most were sub 5 handicap

Had a 10 ft look at birdie on #1 #8 and #10... all would have won skins and all were dead center about 6 inches short :/

Other than that played like crap. But the overall ball striking is much improved over the last month or so. Just need the consistency from swing to swing. It feels like either every other shot is good, or 2 of 5. haha.

Well....The year's biggest golf tournament (for me at least) is coming up this weekend. It's a two day, two man scramble. My Dad & I have played in this tournament together for the last 10 years. We won it 6 years ago, but haven't been close since. Hoping my recently improved short game will show up.

Heading out for a round Wednesday. Expectations are high so hope I don't disappoint myself.

We always do a team matchplay score as well as keep individual score. We pick a score that wins the Open for our team score

We also use a 9 handicap for team score.

Just little things to keep our juices flowing and make it fun.

On a side note.. I shelved the Callaway Razr Fit driver and went back to my TM RBZ driver.
It's night and day. At least 10 yards further and I'm much more consistant.
Really want to get the SLDR but that will have to wait for a price drop.

I'm sticking with TM drivers from here on out even though I love my X-Hot irons.

I've finally started playing a little better with my last 5 rounds in the 70's. I've got a 2 man tourney this weekend. The format is Saturday front 9 combined total, back 9 low ball net, Sunday front 9 scramble, back 9 alternate shot. You get 100% of your handicap. Since my handicap has gone up to a 10 (I hope because of my hip replacement in January & not the fact that I'm just getting worse)

Last year my partner and I were leading after the first day, but he fell apart the 2nd day. Hoping we can turn it around, especially since I am playing as well as I have all year.

I also have another 2 man tourney next month that I'll have to have a new partner for this year. My usual partner has a trip planned. I'm trying to get a partner that can hit the ball a long way. My game is hitting fairways & making putts. If I have a partner that can hit it long and in play, we can do some damage. I love playing in these tournaments.

Finally got to play again the other day. Started out with three straight double bogeys to be +6 through 3!! Thought my score was gonna be horrendous. Ended up with a 45 on the front 9 and got things completed turned around on the back 9. Was +2 through 8 and sadly finished with a double bogey going +4 finishing with a 39. Shot an 84 overall and regardless of such a terrible front 9, every shot was solid, just had some pitches/chips that caused me to score bad on some holes.

Well it was a day that overall I'm ok with.
Had plenty par putts and a few birdie putts.
Ball striking was great but distance control was lacking.

I am trying to get mid 80's to low 80's as the norm and go from there.

Well we get to 18 (par 5) and I'm sitting at 82.
Driver down the middle in good shape.
6 Iron to get position. Hit a tad fat but still got decent distance.
Set up for the 3rd shot from 134 out.
I freaking shank it. I haven't shanked in forever and I flat out shank it.
I have no shot but to punch out back to fairway for my 4th.
5th shot goes to back of green..flag in front.
                                a 3 putt later and I finish with a 90 score.

I was so damn disappointed that I choked like that.

Tomorrow's another day but that one will hurt a bit.
