She was pretty hott... well when at least they had to play as the Adriana clone instead of the FBI agent.

I'm just weighing in with my thoughts....I loved how they tied up the show for the most part. I also agree with the fact that it may have been written a little too smart for the masses. I think that you guys are right about how Chase uses stereotypes to create a feeling of of impending doom. When Tony is sitting at the diner, where is the hit going to come from? Will it be the Italian guy, the three black guys who enter (maybe in a robbery attempt), the young couple that are reminiscient of maybe Bonnie and Clyde? I think that Chase shows the whole Meadow having a hard time parking to show us that she really has a hard time finding her niche in life. Agent Harris says,"We might actually win this thing." I believe he is referring to the New Jersey crew being able to put down the New York crew.

Also, combining last week's episode with this week's, IMO it's the best ending to a series ever.

Last week, we saw the bleak side of things...people being whacked, uncertainty about the fates of key characters, the thought of all out war and death, etc. and this week it's the other side of it with things returning to "normal" if you will and everything is calmed down and eased over and closure on many fronts.

The endings were awesome for both as well, esp. the penultimate episode with Tony calmly lying down in a bed, clutching an assault rifle as if prepared for anything to happen...the somber keystroke music that went along was just the icing on the cake too. I liked tonight's ending as well but last week's was just incredible.

So as far as I'm concerned, this 2 week stretch to close up the series if you will has worked...we saw pretty much everything and there was plenty of tense moments and ups and downs.

Here is an idea about the cat...

The cat kept staring at Chrissy's picture shows Chris would have become a rat? Squealing to the feds and it shows Tony killing him was the right thing to do.

Tony even mentioned to Paulie he was staring at the picture because a "dead rat" was behind the wall. But when Paulie moved the picture, the cat continued to stare at the picture.

Only thing I could think of that makes sense without re carnations or anything crazy like that.

If I'm right, beautiful writing. If I'm wrong, still. I just love how this show makes you think.

              EDIT:

Not to mention the cat killed a rat earlier in the morning... therefore getting Tony's approval.

Me thinks everyone is overthinking the ending. It ended just to end. Nothing to it or anything. It just ended. That's it.

What was more important was the minutes leading up to the blackout, with the people in the restaurant and the overwhelming tension that was felt while watching it.

My only gripe is that why did alot of major characters have to be killed off or put out of commision the past three episodes to get to this ending? Geez.

Oh yeah lol...poor Frank Vincent. Killed twice in famous scenes. One as Billy Bats in Goodfellas and now as Phil Leotardo.

(got this from another board, the HBO ones...)

So here is what I found out. The guy at the bar is also credited as Nikki Leotardo. The same actor played him in the first part of season 6 during a brief sit down concerning the future of Vito. That wasn't that long ago. Apparently, he is the nephew of Phil. Phil's brother Nikki Senior was killed in 1976 in a car accident. Absolutely Genius!!!! David Chase is truly rewarding the true fans who pay attention to detail.

So the point would have been that life continues and we may never know the end of the Sopranos. But if you pay attention to the history, you will find that all the answers lie in the characters in the restaurant. The trucker was the brother of the guy who was robbed by Christopher in Season 2. Remember the DVD players? The trucker had to identify the body. The boy scouts were in the train store and the brothas at the end were the ones who tried to kill Tony and only clipped him in the ear (was that season 2 or 3?).

Absolutely incredible!!!! There were three people in the restaurant who had reason to kill Tony and then it just ends. This was Chase's way of proving that he will not escape his past. It will not go on forever despite that he would like it to "don't stop". Not the fans!!! Tony would like it to keep going but just as we have to say goodbye, so does he. No more Tony and I guess we are supposed to be happy that Meadow didn't get clipped as well (she would have been between the shooter and Tony) since she is the only one worth a crap in that family.

Anyone remember these guys from past season or is this guy full of it?

Even Paulie looked suspicious a few times times during the episode. ****, I thought that Paulie was setting Tony up at first with the whole Carlo missing deal?

One plothole. How could AJ joined the military with recently being in psychiatric help? When they did a background check wouldn't he not get in correct once they found out?

I also wonder, when Agent Harris says that "We Got Him" after he hears that Phil is dead............did he mean Phil or Tony? Was Harris setting Tony up?

We never find out about the NY Snitch, unless it was Butch?

It was a good ending, and either at the end Tony was killed as the screen went black and the music stopped meaning that life had ended for Tony or were left with a first person view from Tony's eyes as he is always on guard with who will kill him next. Or could Tony have had one of his blackouts?
I think that only showed how Agent Harris had grown too close to Tony and had taken sides in the mob war. The look on his face after he let that slip looked like he was embarassed and had said something he shouldn't.

                        I agree...

My question to you guys who are looking for theories (and if you legit liked it, that's good, nothing at all wrong with that) but if this was say a 2-3 hour movie, and that's how it ended...would you have burned down the theater? Since the rest of the movie was so fantastic and top notch, then ends like that. A serious question.

The sopranos is different though... it's not a movie that has a beginning, middle, and end. It's a show that is supposed to be realistic about a family's life.

Yeah, I can totally understand that, and you have a point.

I didn't see it and don't watch the show, I'm just going off of everyone's comments.

I've read where some say the ending was genius, and other's hated it. It's going to be one of those love it/hate it type.

But if there's a movie in 3 years, does that totally take away from the ending if you consider it genius or can you accept that there's still a lot of money that can be made off of Tony Soprano.

no one was shot or killed at the end. I think most people were expecting something to happen, so they are trying to figure out what happened when the screen went blank. Tony wasn't killed or arrested. The show is going on, we just can't watch it.

I personally thought the ending was absolute genius.

The drama built up over, presumably, nothing was great and I think a good example of what Tony Soprano's life is/was/will be. He constantly has to look over his shoulder, constantly needs to suspect everyone, because he will never know when he will be wacked, pinched, whatever.

To me the greatest endings are the ones that don't wrap everything in a nice neat little package. That is not realism. They are also the ones that seem to piss the most people off.
Overall satisfaction also makes the decline!!!!!!!!!!!!
