Re: Sopranos Season 6 **Warning for finale spoilers**

I liked the ending while my wife absolutely hated it!

I thought the ambiguity was perfect, with the whole adage of "the more things change, the more they stay the same". Did Tony hear about Phil getting knocked off? Was it just a random guy at the bar going to the bathroom or was it a hitman? The one certainty is that Tony will always be in danger and will never have the peace he seeks...he just has to enjoy the quiet moments he has.

    Some other tidbits:

-I'm quite surprised that they killed off Phil. They way they did it was also one of those "WOW" moments!

-I think Agent Harris was just playing Tony. He probably was pulled form the NJ beat since he was never able to catch one of the big fish, and re-assigned to terrorism. By following the scene, he'll finally be able to nail Tony as kingpin (hence why he kept him alive).

-Mrs. Van Zandt (Silvio's wife in real life and the show0 has had a LOT of work done! I hardly recognized her!

-I like how Tony started the mom story with A.J.'s therapist, showing that Melfi was right (how sociopaths elicit sympathy in talk therapy and perfect their trade).

-A shame that even more folks were rats (Carlo), though I think Paulie is still loyal...just a coward. He goes up to the edge, but never wants the real responsibility.

-Little Carmine still has power, hence the little nod with Butch.

A good episode, and it just brings us back to the family, however tenuous. It was never a mob show first, it was a defective family drama whose patriarch just happened to be a mobster!

I noticed that...surprised others didn't. I was thinking it was almost a flashback to when he first met Carmela at first.

Weird moment, for sure (just like the odd cuts during the sit-down where you heard background noise, camera shifts, then silence).

Crazy ending last night, My mom was so pissed but my Dad was all I saw it happening and I knew that was the end. Me and my mom thought the Cable had went off.

Hopefully they make a movie, I'd go see it.

Considering it's Frank Vincent, you knew he was gonna meet his end in a very gruesome fashion.

I thought the cable went out too. After I realized that's the end, my first reaction was let down. Why leave it so open ended? After reading here and the linked articles (thanks!) I am now thinking, why not leave it open ended. It's thought provoking.

So, Tony chooses the song Don't Stop Believing, and soon after there is a fade to black. Genius? Hardly! Smart? Yes. You want to see the REAL end of the Sopranos? Pony up more money for a theatrical performance, or maybe even a pay per view event!! How transparent is that?

I never watched the show. For the life of me I cannot figure out how a cliched, stereotypical, not-so-well-acted show captivated the country. I recorded it for a friend, and I was checking the end to make sure I got it all. And when it ended like that, all I could do was laugh and think, this is probably what most will deserve for getting too involved with a TV show. But then again, we do love our entertainment, don't we?!

There is no evidence that a movie is in the works (and I seriously doubt there will be one). As for pay-per-view, HBO is already pay cable, so that ain't happening either.
Overall satisfaction also makes the decline!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have to understand when people pay to watch something they think its better then it actually is.

Since you guys are grasping at everything to make the ending better, has anyone looked at Don't Stop Believin's lyrics for any hidden meanings?

Just a small town girl, livin in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin anywhere
Just a city boy, born and raised in south detroit
He took the midnight train goin anywhere

A singer in a smokey room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on

Strangers waiting, up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people, living just to find emotion
                        Hiding, somewhere in the night

Working hard to get my fill,
                        Everybody wants a thrill
Payin anything to roll the dice,
                        Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
                        Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

                        (chorus)

                        Dont stop believin
                        Hold on to the feelin
                        Streetlight people

You know, that is so true!! It's the same with computers. I bought a new dual core pc and I thought it was all that!! I downloaded a couple of demos that choked the thing and now I'm in shock! I'm certain the Sopranos was an interesting enough show. It just didn't do anything for me when I tried to watch it. To each his/her own.

I watched every once in awhile, waiting for Entourage to come on and I must say I did enjoy how the final scene played out. You kept thinking everyone but the daughter was gonna get whacked, then they went in a whole different direction.

I cant recall any final episode that left the viewer fulfilled.
