Well yeah if I was doing a brand new setup I would go for the newest card but the question was if he should upgrade from a 1080ti and that's a hell no from me.Comment

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
So the Radeon 7 that is out now, don't quite live up to the hype. Mainly because AMD released this card with no drivers for this specific card. Therefore the press people were experiencing blacks screens, freeze ups, system reboots, etc when they tried to play certain games. AMD however know about this already from their own internal testing, but they wanted to release this card for the Chinese New Year.

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
I don't want to get a new laptop, but I'm starting to feel like I might have no choice.
Late last year one of my keys stopped working, and now lately it's been basically freezing (but mouse still moves, though I cant click on anything). Nothing triggers it, it just suddenly happens. The laptop is almost 8 years old now so its bound to need replacing at some point.
I've thought of reformatting, but not sure about it. I have files scattered everywhere that I'm sure I'll probably forget to backup something. And have programs I probably won't get back either since I don't have the activation code for anymore.
Does reformatting remove everything? Any advice?Comment

I can boot in safe mode just fine, though my antivirus doesn't open in safe mode. Weirdly enough, it opens just fine when I regularly boot up my computer.Comment

Re: Official &amp;quot;I want to build a New PC!&amp;quot; Thread
All my programs not carrying over is my main concern about getting new laptop. I don't have activation key so I probably won't be able to use any of them on a new computer. Only once before have I had to transfer things on a computer and that was when I moved my desktop stuff to my laptop. Hopefully process is easier now vs back then.
Probably should go after an 8gb RAM laptop. I had 4GB on my current one. Probably would take forever figuring out which laptop to get. Brand being probably the biggest thing I'm not sure about.Last edited by Majingir; 02-12-2019, 01:44 PM.Comment

What are best brands to look for in windows laptops? I'm not doing any gaming on it. Mainly just web browsing and streaming videos.Comment

Ever since I got a tablet I've used my laptop way less. Don't even use laptop some days anymore. I'm probably getting a new tablet eventually too, once apps get too new for it.

I'd stay away from Asus though. I've seen those conk out too much.
Old reliable brands
HP
Dell
Sony
Sony probably most expensive

I mainly got it because I noticed it was cheaper but specs like ram, harddrive, processor were similar to more expensive brands. I don't think they were as big back then in name recognition.Comment
