I’m going to take those numbers with a very large grain of salt. I will say that DLSS seems like it could be a real game changer though.

I’m not buying anything till I see some of my go to PC sites run real world benchmarks though.

A real issue I see is that they are using 1080p to benchmark RT. Anyone who would buy one of these would most likely be in the 4K or 1440p realm as far as monitors go. Not good to put 1080p on those.

Good thing I did some more research before I made my purchases. Had no idea the 9900k was gonna be out in October, may as well wait a couple months then and see the info on the new gen. Already compatible with the mobo I wanted so I'm good there.

Had 2 more hard freezes today. I guess it’s time for a new PSU. This is incredibly frustrating.

Today my CPU actually reset itself after the freeze.

Read a few things that the vengeance LXP RAM could be the issue.

Remove any overclocks including XMP and see if you still have issues.

In my obsession to fix this problem I think I found the solution.

When I hooked up the 1080ti I used single PCIe cable that split off to a 8+6. Supposedly I was suppose to use 2 separate cables. Will report back mates.

Would you all recommend a Ryzen 7 2700X build? I've been reading a lot about the i7's running crazy hot, forcing you to delid to try to keep temps to a decent level. I've never delidded anything, and I'd rather not risk $350 for the processor by jacking it up. Also looks like Ryzen 7 2700x is a great CPU for gaming too. Just wondering about how it'll pair up with the 2080TI FE.

                    I run a 8700k and a 1080ti with just a Corsair H60. I don’t go over 70c underload.

Will say a new cooler will be my first upgrade.

Hear great things about Ryzen though. Still think intel has a slight lead in games though but we are talking about a handful of FPS.

Ps I didn’t de-lid but would recommend 240mm+ AIO water or just go with a high end air cooler.

So, I have made the order for all of my parts for my new build. Drumroll please:

Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080TI Founders Edition GPU
Asus ROG Strix H370-I LGA1151 ITX Motherboard
                      Intel i7 8086K Processor at 5.1GHz (Delidded/Kryonaut)
                      Noctua Low Profile NH-L9I Cooler
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 DRAM 3000Mhz C15 Memory Kit
                      3 Noctua NF-P12 120mm case fans
Silverstone 700W SFX-L Platinum Modular Power Supply SX700-LPT
                      Silverstone RVZ03B Slim Case
                      Samsung 960 Evo 512GB HDD
                      Windows 10 Pro

Anything that I'm missing that you all see? I've got some conductonaut that I'll paste the CPU w/ for the Noctua fan. Anything else? May get a slot loading Bluray player or something of that nature.

I dont know about that cooler. Its only rated at 65w and that cpu is 95w. Even with that extra fan on top you might get some throttling in a mITX system.

Suggestions? Since it's mITX I'm fairly limited I'm sure. Even w/ it being delidded, etc, you think I'll run into thermal throttling? I don't plan on OC'ing (if it's even possible).

How big is the 2080ti? Can it fit in that Mini ITX case? I was gonna do a mini itx case myself but saw how troublesome it was and some 1080ti's didn't fit or barely fit. I also worry about the air flow for it too.

Have you looked into micro atx cases? There's a bunch of awesome ones out now

Yeah, it will fit in the itx case I selected, and still have an inch or two to spare. Those Silvestone cases are no joke. The way they position the card, it's separate from all the other components, so it stays cooler too. Very slick setup. I had one with my last build too. I've not looked at any micro atx cases. I want one that's roughly the size of a console, so that's what I went with. Pack a huge punch, without a lot of size.

I would highly suggest a larger case with more fans unless you don’t have the room. I went with a mid tower and wish I went full.

Also maybe look at some RAM with 3200+ MHZ.

Don’t go cheap on your CPU cooler. I’m not familiar with that one but I would research.

I would also suggest at least a 850w power supply. You might be right on the edge and want to leave yourself some room.
