And I'll probably find a bunch of laptops in time and see which ones people think are the best.

      Majingir, check these out:

If you’re on a budget, these are the best cheap Windows laptops and Chromebooks we recommend after extensive research and hands-on testing.

        I wouldn't pay 500for a Chromebook

Those things are stripped down laptops although if all you want to do is surf online it's great for that

You wouldn't, nor would I, but that one is actually a great value for most consumers and has physical features that are much better than most Windows laptops in that price range.

There's a Windows recommendation there as well. I'd definitely second the future-proofing idea and spend a little bit more.

At $750, the Asus ZenBook UX331UA stands out as a great deal: https://thewirecutter.com/reviews/be...heap-ultrabook

Guys, my new PC build so far has 7 RGB fans and I don't even have the motherboard, ram and CPU yet. Am I doing this right?

Nope. You should have some LED light strips placed in all around the inside of the case by now. Also make sure you custom loop water cool with colored coolant that glows in the dark.

I'm mainly using it for browsing, but doesn't mean I'm not using it for other things though.

I asked 23 already, but I'll post it here for anyone else wanting to chime in:
Would it be worth even getting a laptop with small amount of HDD space, and just swapping it out for a SSD (Amazon SSDs)? Assuming of course I can use any of these SSD and put it in any laptop I want.

I'm also thinking of just getting a SSD and putting it in my current laptop, in hopes that it works. Although if it doesn't work, it'd restrict me to just going the "buying a cheaper HDD laptop and swapping in the already purchased SSD" route.

If not, my current leading option for a laptop with no current upgrade is a $600 HP laptop. Quad processor, 8GB of RAM, 1TB HDD.

How have you guys moved your rig if you're moving it to a new city that you need to fly to? It's too big for me to carry it on and not sure packing it would be safe or if i should disassemble it and put back together.

Just mail it your new address. Stuff the inside of the tower with big bag bubble wrap to keep your graphics card, cooler in place. Wrap the outside of the tower in a few layers of bubble wrap. Put it inside a box with the bottom of the box lined with packing peanuts, then the top of the box with packing peanuts. You would be good to go.

I've been looking at 2 laptops right now. Both with 8GB RAM.
                        1st: (AMD A12-9720P processor, 1TB HDD)
                        https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Displa...=operasport-20

                        2nd: (Intel Celeron Quad-Core N4100 processor, 512GB SSD)

Any thoughts on both? Main differences are really just processors and hard drives, but I don't really know how much better/worse either is.

I've also heard SSDs are better than HDDs. How much better exactly? Should I be bothering so much about getting one with an SSD over HDD or what?

There are SO MUCH better laptops out there for the price. I wouldn't buy anything with a Celeron in it. If you not gaming or doing Adobe Premiere, you don't need a SSD.

                          $580 - HP - 17.3" Laptop - Intel Core i5 - 8GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive

                          $500 - Lenovo - 330S-15IKB 15.6" Laptop - Intel Core i5 - 8GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive

                          $620 - Acer - Nitro 5 15.6" Laptop - AMD Ryzen 5 - 8GB Memory - AMD Radeon RX 560X - 1TB Hard Drive

Personally I wouldn't get anything with an i-3 in it but if you want cheaper laptops, then here there are:

                          $340 - Lenovo - 330-15IKBR 15.6" Laptop - Intel Core i3 - 8GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive

                          $350 - HP - 14" Laptop - Intel Core i3 - 8GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive

So SSD are really just useful if you do big things like games and movie editing type stuff?

I tried finding the Acer and HP ones in Canada and they're around $1000 which is too much. And cant seem to find the Lenovo one you posted. Though that one did seem nice. Since you said Acer, is that a brand you'd recommend?

Range is between $500-700CDN or $400-550USD.

Was that Lenovo one on Amazon I posted any good? It also had 8gb ram and 1tb HDD. Though compared to your Lenovo one, it had worse resolution(although if I'm not gaming, will it make that much difference?) and different (not sure if better or worse) processor. Of all I've looked at within my budget, it's one of the best choices. Too bad I can't get that one from best buy. Even with exchange, it's under $650.

                              here it is on Newegg

                              https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...CS62-_-Product

                              Lenovo 81F500NSUS 330S-15IKB 15.6" Laptop - Intel Core i5 - 8GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive - Platinum Gray Notebook PC Computer

However it is $570 on Newegg.

And here is the HP on newegg

                              https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...32U2-_-Product

                              HP 17.3" Non-touch Laptop Intel Core i5-7200u 8GB DDR4 1TB HD Windows 10 Bluetooth DVD-RW WiFi - 17-BY0021DX

It is $550 on Newegg, so this one is actually cheaper then the Best Buy price.

Far as SSD, yeah it is only worth it if you are a gamer or into movie editing. Definitely not worth paying extra for it on a laptop if you just use your laptop for web browsing and basic things. The Lenovo you posted on Amazon is only 720P. This is 2019, you should be viewing things no lower then 1080p.

Newegg USA which is the problem for me.

As for 720 vs 1080p, is that just impacting videos or everything including regular stuff?

I looked some more and this is closest to the Lenovo one:

Its Acer, same ram and hdd. Processor is Intel i5 8250u which I think is the same too.

Not too sure about resolution, though I hope its HD. Might be too good to be true because most 1080p laptops I've seen are above my budget.
