I can't go back to 24 inches. Been playing on 27 and above inch monitors for years now.Comment

To me 27 inches is the sweet spot. I tried a 32 inch about a month ago and felt a bit too big. Maybe I didn’t get use to it IDK..

I personally think you need 1440p once you hit 27inches. Looks soooooo much better.
I bought my 27 inch dell 1440p 144hz for like 300 on eBay.
Edit: it’s also a G sync.

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
So I'd like to get a new PC (possibly build, but I'm a bit fearful of the actual "building" portion unless it's easier than it sounds), but although I would love the extra overhead when it comes to power and graphics card, gaming will not be at the forefront (though it will be there). I will, however, need to edit footage, possibly even 4K footage. There are other things I'd like it to handle too, but that is a portion of it.
Is a "gaming PC" still recommended, in this case? I don't mind all the fanciful colors that tend to come with them, but is there another kind of high-end PC name that I should be looking for otherwise that might be more beneficial or cost-effective to what I'm trying to achieve, here?
Also, I'm looking for a monitor that I can possibly hook my PS4 Pro up to, so I guess that's a heavy consideration of sorts as well.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Between YouTube and all the forums, you'll get all the help you'd need. We're talking a phillips head and plugging in connectors.
Also, your PS4 will thank you and your budget when it comes to picking up that monitor.
Idk enough about needs for editing, I'm sure some things go hand in hand between editing and gaming, but there's likely other factors too. Hopefully other editing-savvy people can chime in with. Good luck!

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
Thanks!
Also, if I went dual-screen (not necessarily the same expensive monitor for both), will I need a beastly graphics card to take care of both of them?Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Not really, most modern, quality graphic cards can do dual monitor without any issue. The only trick is to know what type of connectors it has so you will have it ready to go in case you need an adapter when you get it all set up.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
Thanks.
The "build your own" method seems scarily overwhelming, though. Not the actual screwdriver putting things together portion, but all of these different parts to choose from and decide upon. Just seems like a daunting task. I'm watching YT videos, but I still also just don't know where to begin, really.
And again, I'd love to ensure that I'm getting things that will maximize what I'm able to do, plus future-proofing it as much as possible. For the computer itself, my highest I'll go is $2,500. I'd rather stick around $2,000 if possible, though. Things I'm not including in that purchase decision are monitor, mouse, keyboard, and possibly capture card.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

All things connect to the motherboard so start there.Comment

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
I think what I'm going to do is look at the specs of a PC that is already "built," see which one I like most, and then maybe order those parts separately or something (and change things as needed, I guess). The way I see it, outside of customization, it sounds like ordering and putting it together yourself is simply the cheaper route. How much cheaper? I have no idea. It lets you get what you want though, I guess.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
It's a bit cheaper but the best thing is the quality is all there in regards to you know exactly what you are getting..that's why it's recommended I believe

Use this site.. you can’t pick wrong. It’ll let you know of any issues or compatibility problems.
Also there are completed build guides if you want to start there. You can see what kind of PC is getting built for what price.
Seriously, buying a readily made computer is just not the route to take, it’s more expensive, there are corners cut somewhere, and frankly, putting together a PC can take less than 30 minutes to an hour.Comment
