Yeah, he should announce it during or at the end of TGS. I feel pretty sure about that.

That's pretty much a lock. Sony uses the TGS for many announcements, and it would make sense to iron out the launch details there.

we were told that we would begin taking pre-orders a week, maybe two, after the TGS. Not official, but fairly solid.


FYI, PS3 pre-order deposits may be a high as $150(25%) down.

PS3Land: Recently news is reporting that Mercenaries 2 is no longer a PS3 exclusive. Is this true and why?

That is one reason why I'm turned off by the PS3. Granted I was one of the people that wanted to get one back during E3, but after that price I decided it's a no for me. I might pickup the Wii depending on how finances are in the fall, but I think that Sony has really backed themselves into a corner here with so much at stake on the Blu-Ray.

Already, many reviewers have said HD-DVD is beating Blu-Ray via picture and sound quality when 2 movies that are on both formats have been reviewed. When your looking at the HD era of DVD's, as a consumer I can buy the $500 HD-DVD over the $1,000 BR player and get better quality all around.

yeah, all the reviews I have read say HD-DVD looks better. Go figure. Not what I expected.

Thats because, the early versions of blu-ray was transferring in Mpeg-2. This is why you get the descrepency. They are supposed to be moving over to Mpeg-4 when sony ships the 50 gb disc, which they did today 08/16/06

But I don't know many people who really check for that site, so it might not be as big as they make it out to be. We'll see tommorow
