    Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

See, I can't roll with a follower/pack mule. I'm a sneaker and they get in my way and reveal my position too much. I'm forced to carry all my loot myself. I could get into the habit of tell my follower to wait for me at the entrance and then backtracking to load them up and finish looting.

A horse won't work for me either. Alchemists need to be on the ground collecting everything they pass by. Another reason I needed the house. That's a lot of ingredients to carry around.

WTF, unfortunately you'll always need a forge/bench/grindstone to do the smithing.

Funny horse story, I get to Whiterun, finally have about 1100 in gold, decide to buy a horse from the stables. I get on it and am heading up to the gate of the castle, and I seem to go straight instead of left to go in, I go up this ramp, and theres just a drop off on the other side, I fall off the side, horse gets killed, im like wtf.

That conjure perk I was looking at the conjure constellation and I was sort of waiting to "unlock" something, but just playing through the game, nothing was unlocking so I knew I had to be missing something. Im going to see what I can buy/learn and look around some of these towns. I have been conditioned from something like warcraft where you dont really purchase stuff from vendors, but I guess in a single person campaign type game, thats sort of the point lol.
If you're looking for those type of spells, etc, make sure when you visit local Mage locations, vampire locations, etc, you read all of the books that they have. As soon as you read one w/ a skill in it, you will "learn" that skill or spell. I've picked up a lot of new skills/spells just by reading the books in those locations.

I've been playing like a dual wielder/archer, and I feel the bow is spot on. It does great sneak damage, and is obviously good at range, but can't be relied on to use consistently in combat. Enemies will get close.

Is it weird that I always sneak, pick a ton of locks, arch, use restoration/destruction magic, yet I use heavy armor? Seems my that kind of build falls into the light armor category, but it's way too late for that now.

That's another way Skyrim is different then other RPG's. Since there is no class system you don't unlock spells once you reach a certain level like in most of them. You need to decide you want to become a spell caster and go seek them out. Then you don't necessarily unlock or upgrade to better versions of spells, you just get better at the ones you have through practice/use.

That's the beauty of Skyrim, sounds off, but it's doable. The weight of your armor does have an effect on your sneak ability, but doesn't make it impossible. Somewhere in the armor constellation trees is a perk to remove that weight hindrance anyway.

For those of your who are more well-travelled in the game, am I supposed to travel to the various towns across the map on my own accord or will the flow of the story naturally take me on a tour of all these locations?

Also, if I do travel to Solitude at level 5 or something, will the quests and enemies be level-appropriate or will they be much stronger because I'm meant to be doing the Whiterun stuff?

I play mostly in first - especially when fighting - but when I'm travelling between places or wandering around town I often switch to third for a while to get a feel for my character.

All of the buy-able horses are equal, the only difference is their coloring.

The horse I got from Whiterun got stuck in a mountain somewhere. I was riding up up an incline, that started to get ridiculously steep. My horses legs glitched halfway through the snow/mountain I guess and he wouldn't move in either direction. I just left him up there and walked down the mountain.

Maybe he'll randomly turn up in a town. Better for me to be on my feet anyways so I can snipe some deer.
