Between this and WWE'12, I don't really play anything else.

        Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I am now 60 hours in. I for the first time made my way south of Solitude and found Markareth. Wow. I am doing some questing there between the House of Horrors and the other main quest line there.

I still have not gone to Dawnstar or Riften or the SW hold. This game is just immense. I am a level 23 and have dozens of quests in my que. I finally got the Staff of Magnus. Awesome quest IMO and it took me 2 plus hours to finally beat that freaking mother of a wizard.

I finally popped in a sports game today to break the cycle.....played a game of Madden. It was a nice break.

But.......back to adventuring in Skyrim. Hands down the best video game (non-sports) I have ever played. I think it is safe to say I will put it in 300 plus hours into this game.

So it is clear I am a destruction Mage also wielding conjuration, and restoration. Smithing is going great as well as Alchemey and light armor. Focusing on these 6 areas has been key as I am really becoming a force as a full on mage. I also can wield a one handed sword or mace with confidence and am a decent lock picker. But all my perks are going to the three schools I mentioned, smithing, alchemy and soon light armor.

DLC? Oh my oh yes. Going to get all of it if they make some.

Crazy thing is I was playing Batman AC and loving that game and I have not touched it in 10 days......need to get back into that one as it is a gem as well.

        Skyrim is a serious obsession.

I got a psn cash card for my birthday in august... Knew a few days later that I will be saving it for skyrim dlc. I've planned ahead!

Anyone have problems using shouts sometimes? I would use it but nothing happens. I can't cast magic or other shouts while "using" a shout.

I've noticed this, everything points to being able to use a shout but you hit the button and nothing, but half a second later and it will work.

As someone who is unfamiliar with RPGs and these kind of games, what's a good base character to start out with in order to be a kinda stealthy character? Light armor/sneak/one handed/archer as the main traits?
Stealth races would be Argonian, Khajit, and Wood Elf I believe.

Started a new character as a Nord....name is Buliwjf, in honor of the leader of the Vikings from the movie the 13th Warrior. Have him almost to a level 7. About to engage on High Hrothgar.

To be honest I love my two-handed lvl 6 Nord much better than my lvl 23 Wood Elf. Have yet to die as my Nord, whereas I've probably died 30+ times with my Wood Elf. Did come close to dying with my Nord, after my first encounter with a Troll; vile beings they are.

I love rushing an enemy with my Battle Axe, chopping at his legs, and then splitting him in half. I also must say it feels much better to journey with a Housecarl. Never used Lydia with my Wood Elf, didn't want to bring her along on my Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild quests.....but journeying with a partner through the vast wilderness is much more enjoyable.

Race doesn't really matter, I am a level 20-something Nord assassin/thief with high archery/sneak all race really does it give you a 5/10 point head start in some skills which isn't much when it comes to stealth which is really easy to level.

All races in the end can become what ever the user wants them to be but some races are better suited at the beginning for certain builds.

A Nord's emphasized skill is 2H weapon and starts at 25 which you've chosen to not use so those extra 10 points are totally wasted. A Khajit or Wood Elf have sneak and/or archery at 20/25 so they would be 15 points ahead of a Nord from the beginning in the two skills needed to be a sneaky archer.

A 15 point head start is pretty significant in the early levels.

It's a 10 point bonus. Every race starts at +10 in one skill and +5 in five other skills.

I would almost argue Nord is a better race for a thief, considering how quickly and easily things like archery and sneak will level, but a Nord's +5 in light armor isn't insignificant especially in thieves that should be getting hit less.

Anyone wear inferior armor solely for roleplaying purposes? I've been rocking plain old fur armor (the shirtless version) for ages - even though I have Elven available. I just dig the look of the fur.

That's why I'm saying it's a 15 point head start when making a sneaky archer, 10 in sneak and 5 in archery for a Khajit or 5 in sneak and 10 in archery for a wood elf.
