Guess I was late. The newest "meltdown" is fun, though.

Same...by the time this goes on sale the mod/tweaks should be complete...for now I'm just reading the thread on Gaf with all the rage towards UBI.

            Re: Watch Dogs

I'm having a hard time figuring out how I feel about this game. It's almost like I can't tell if I'm addicted, or just want to beat it and be done with it.

On one hand, the MP portion of it is an absolute blast. It's too bad there isn't a true progression system in place that would give it more reason to be played. For whatever reason, I'm getting a kick out of the combat. It reminds me a lot of Max Payne 3, which isn't a bad thing at all. Being able to disable a helicopter and then tear it down with a grenade launcher is really great. Chases are also a lot of fun.

On the other hand, I don't really find much else about the game very appealing. Profiling is fun, but most of it is kind of ridiculous. The streets feel mechanical, not alive (like in GTA). Side missions are repetitive and I get a high enough civilian rating to not worry about doing them. I really like the skills system, but outside of the hacking, everything else seems sort of pointless. The story is meh. Just interesting enough to keep me interesting, but forgettable enough that I won't be able to tell you what it was even about a couple of months from now.

All in all, it's definitely worth a play. It didn't live up to the worlds of hype, for me. One thing I've seen a lot is people saying how great a potential sequel could be, but I honestly don't see a ton of room for improvement. Better writing, or maybe doing something similar to Forza with the Drivatars would be cool.

The hacking and tailing MP elements of this game demonstrate the sheer fun and creativity of this title. Hacking a real person opens the game up to unpredictability. This allows for endless non scripted gameplay.

                Re: Watch Dogs

Well I just had the very frustrating weapons glitch strike in my single player campaign. It happened during a fixer contract that I was doing. The first thing I noticed is that I could not use the baton while attempting a take down on my target who was running away on foot. I got close enough on several occasions and the game would not allow me to use the baton. At this point, I decided to just shoot him. I bring up the weapons screen and I just have a pistol with a few bullets that I run out of. Ended up having to run the perp down with a car to complete the fixer contract. When I got returned to my normal campaign, most of my weapons were gone....UGGGGH!!

I tried restarting the game and my system (X360) a few times to no avail. I can't even rebuy the weapons at the gun shop. The menus show that I own all of them already, which I did, but they dont show up in my weapon selector. I only have one pistol, the Tommy gun and some grenades I think.

Is anyone aware of a fix for this issue?? I really hate to lose all my progress and start over with a new campaign

My thoughts exactly. I'm about halfway thru Act II and im pretty meh about whether or not I actually finish. I'd like to, the game is different and intriguing and the whole bit. But at this point gamestop is still giving $40 for a trade I'm thinking I've got my $20 value out of it for what it is. I'm just not seeing the re playability in th3 long run. That's just me...never been a huge SP guy unless the story is really grabbing.

I was pumped for this game and it just fell flat for me. Unfortunately I bought the season pass and hate to loose out my $20. I haven't played in about 2 weeks. Just can't seem to get into it

I feel the same way man. Although I didn't buy the season pass. I played it again the last night. It had been about two weeks for me as well since I last played it. It is getting better. The story is starting to open up a little bit more.

What are people enjoying the most, the story or the side stuff? I finished the main story and am trying to figure out if it's worth it to stick around.

                          Re: Watch Dogs

I've done all available Fixer and Gang Hideouts. I've completed the Spider Tank levels and 1/3 of the Find-the-Ball minigame. The collectibles I've just been doing if I'm relatively close or have no objective I'm going towards.

Compared to the story I just did the first and second ACT II missions last night.

Like others have been saying this game is failing to pull me in fully. I'm not sure what it is, but I don't have the sense of discovery or the urge to play and clear the map like I do when I play Assassins Creed or Far Cry.

Trading this in today. It was fun. I'll miss it. It just doesn't have staying power and the $40 is too good to pass up. R.I.P. W_D.
